I think Illumination still has the potential to be a good studio, but they need to learn when a cash cow can't be milked anymore. This movie is the last few drops and a lot of dust.
Even though this isn't going to happen since Minions 3 got announced, but I think a spin-off prequel movie about Gru's daughters/the Gorls where it shows how their parents died and how they became orphans, would've been good to see. And not only would it show their parents dying. But the film could also be similar to the Powerpuff Girls movie, where the girls are on the streets homeless and end up trusting this villain that they meet and they get manipulated into going on a wild goose chase and stealing parts the villain's invention only to help him accidentally create a weapon to destroy the world and the city. And the final battle can definitely show some significance with the girls fighting against the villain. And then ofcourse once the villain is the defeated, the girls will get cheered on and the ending can show a reanimated version of the scene from the first despicable me movie where the girls get adopted by Gru, leading up to the events of the first film. ((What would you think personally? If you could respond to this idea, that would be nice ^^))
@@Du-yw1pzthanks for your comment! I actually really like that idea, despite Illumination being hung up on keeping the girls "average" I think it would be cool to give them a special abilities and a stand alone movie that would actually flesh out their personalities properly.
Not aging up the girls sounds dumb. If they girls were allowed to grow up I think there could be potential for new dynamics. Like imagine Margo taking an interested in science or Edith developing a slight villainous streak.
Sure, the writing and visuals may not be on the same level of quality as other studios, but that's not what Illumination is after. Despicable Me is the most successful animated franchise in cinematic history, and that's because Illumination's movies are family friendly events, they're not designed to be cinematic masterpieces that aim to please a more mature audience. People can criticize Illumination for this all they want, but as long as they can continuously please their target audience year after year and make hundreds of millions of dollars from it, they're not going to change their strategy.
That's cool! Not sure i will watch this movie, he looks really boring and the Minions are not funny anymore. They were in the first movie and Rise of gru. I heard that kids in cinema didn't laugh when they were on screen. A lot of critics said it. Even when i saw Kung fu panda 4, they were kids in the room and none of them laugh at the fart joke or the two father's battle in the bar. Humor is less good in the 4th films except for Shrek forever after 🙂
Megamind Rules is better than Despicable Me 4. The doom syndicate would beat Maxime La Mal’s ass. The first 8 episodes are rushed but, the last 8 are not bad.
Who could forget that? lol 😅 I think since the emoji movie Sony has officially crawled out of the gutter with spider verse, the Mitchell's was good vivo was decent and obviously across the spider verse is a banger so I think they're bad to good movie ratio is a little more favorable now.
Despicable Writing huh well what about on Saturday with the premiere of Johnny Puff Secret mission how is that despicable because that flick may make Hollywood feel like crap even if they want that to succeed!
