I just read Isaiah chapter 1 this morning. That guy who says that government is not supposed to look after the poor isn’t reading the same Bible as I am.
The irony is that the evangelicals want a Christian theocracy in the USA. But when the government actually practices the teachings of Jesus, the evangelicals become hysterical. Helping the poor? That's woke-communist-socialist-mind control.
I guess this is a fruit of (Hyper-) Dispensationalism which is very common and popular outside mainline churches… it is tought that Jesus‘ sayings are exclusive for the Israelites/ Jews, while the Gentiles have to apply Paul‘s teachings…and Paul doesn‘t demand such radical anti- materialistic behaviour. Just my 2 cents…
@@timboland7767 Wow! That is some crazy convoluted theology! I happen to have been a Christian for 60 years and lived in 3 countries, but I must confess that is a new one on me. It still amazes me how people can carve up God's word to fit their own preferences.
I see it like that too. Why did Jesus feed the 5000 AND criticise the Jewish authorities? The idea that education and healthcare etc. should be (solely) in the hands of the church is not from Scripture. And the right wing can make mistakes just as the left wing, but they will be different mistakes.Scripture doesn't say anything about elections either! But the Right is all too ready to use them to implement their Trump-centred Christian Nationalismus. Ehat hypocrites! And Jesus was definitely against hypocrites! In your clips Frank Turek doesn't say anything. We don't know how he came to speak at the same events as Charlie Kirk. I've never heard Frank Turek saying anything supporting Christian nationalism.
this dude Randal making this video is the hypocrite. Frank Turek is an amazing man of God who might make a mistake here and there but overall has led hundreds of thousands of people to the foot of the cross through Jesus Christ. What have you been doing?
at least they're trying to make a difference in a world that is sexualizing our children. What are you doing? How are you contributing to the health of a society that has no standards of morality or a plum line of ethics? You better watch your words, cause by them words you're speaking you will be justified or you will be condemned.
I've come to the place where I am neither disappointed or surprised. Unregenerated man will never get it right. After this last gasp by Satan and fallen man,the LORD will return and show us how it's done. Praying for the ELECT ❤❤
Early Christian era apologists defended Christologies, the Incarnation, and the Resurrection. Medieval era apologists defended the nature of God, the relationship between faith and reason, and the authority of the Church. Reformation era apologists defended justification by faith and the authority of Scripture over Church tradition. Modern era apologists defended compatibility of Christianity belief with science and reason, the moral argument for God, and historicity of the Resurrection. Post-modern era apologists defend the ideal of objective truth, the reliability of Scripture, and the coherence of Christian ethics. MAGA era apologists defend Christian nationalism, the pro-life movement, gender identity, and cultural status. Apologetics has always been a defense of Christianity as it is, using the vocabulary of defending it as it ought be. Any conception of God or of faith needs no defense other than its bringing of goodwill. It's power and status that need a defense and all the better in gilded language.
Slight correction. Currently, it's centered around Trump. However, it has existed for quite some time. It's a well known Republican strategy called the Southern Strategy. Lee Atwater has a famous quote on it with regards to bussing. Because it spans time, place, and culture, I speculate that it endemic to a population. That's why I go off on conservatives because study after study shows they have a dangerous predisposition to authoritarianism. They have a dangerous blindness to large systems so, for example, they don't understand that the President doesn't have a magic button to regulate gas prices. Nor is the President a god or an emperor. (Ideally, with the current corrupt SCOTUS, my country is in real danger of a republican coup via the judicial system. That's why I advocate for ignoring the law and dismissing the legitimacy of elected officials who are conservative. They won by cheating and preying on the ignorant and that's not legitimate in my opinion. It is dangerous but what is more dangerous is complying with conservatives and creating another Dachau or horror.) Look, conservatives are nice in small groups. They are lethal in large numbers. They have lower moral reasoning and the quality of their morality is lacking. it tends to be hierarchical and prioritize the powerful over the weak. A recipe for exploitation and abuse of marginalized groups which is ... immoral. They tend to romanticize the past which makes them susceptible to populist fascist ideas. They tend towards conspiratorial thinking (deep state) because they don't quite understand how the world works at a higher level so they think blanket tariffs are good but they don't understand that trade agreements that isolate a country are far more effective at promoting good behavior. Hyper tribalistic. Emotional thinking that is ungrounded by reality so they believe that Democrats control weather. They are not healthy people mentally speaking. oh.. and it's Fox and Sinclair media group. Those control the majority of news stations. AM radio is another avenue. Now, they are expanding to social media. And frankly, conservatives just aren't good enough to be exposed because they aren't capable of the kind of deep reflective interrogative thinking to understand these issues. This is why they were pro-tariffs for China which were poorly implemented. It felt good but it wasn't good. That's ... conservatism in a nutshell. Feelings over facts.
@@lukejohnston4666 Except that when you analyze Trump's silly tariffs, an econ 101 student or higher, would know they would not work as he claimed they would. They were poorly implemented, thoughtless, performative nonsense that harmed the US. His tariffs were the equivalent of a person trying to lose weight so he does exercise for 1 hour and then, finishes an entire 10 lb cake as a "reward". Our world, love it or not, is globalized trade. It has been going on for well over half a century and the losers who think we can go crawl back into a "single nation" are foolish. But then, republicans are losers who can't comprehend that life has changed. As for regime change, I would not use trade. Trade is a weapon or a point of influence. So I'd rather work with my friends and build a coalition of trading partners that freezes out the troublesome fellow until he complies. Or... make the standards of my country specific enough that only my country would win. (I find dictatorships expensive and political instability to be expensive. There's plenty of ways to get to Rome . You just have to plan very very well.) Whatever one can say about China, China's leadership is impressive. In the span of a century, they moved from an agrarian society to an industrialized society and the world's manufacturing site. That didn't come from random chance and luck. Only a stupid fool, aka a conservative, would think that blustering and beating the chest would engender anything but helpless laughter.
Oh yeah and Kamala Harris is an angel. Waltz is such a sweet man. Nancy Pelosi is such an innocent loving person. Give me a break, you cannot even be serious.
@@TheTerminator-1 Yeah,Jones is quite appropriate. I don't have to hide behind screen names like a bunch of little boys do. Anonymity is something I have never been drawn to at all. if you want my address you can have that too and we can talk about this face-to-face. Where are you at? I'm right here in Bastrop, Texas.😎
Maybe most Evangelicals find Amillenialism boring… they need the „thrill“ of upcoming rapture and tribulation…of course they expect to being raptured before trib so they can watch all the global catastrophes from a safe distance. furthermore most evangelical book publishers release amill stuff…it‘s more spectacular so people buy it…
@@timboland7767 Boy, are those evangelicals gonna be surprised when they find out they're going to go through the Tribulation! The rapture? Oops! No such thing! Sorry, not sorry...
Socialism is a political and economic theory that advocates for the community to own and manage the means of production and natural resources, rather than individuals. It's based on the idea that public ownership of resources will lead to a more equal society. Socialism has been applied to many different economic and political systems, including: Utopianism, Anarchism, Soviet communism, and Social democracy. Socialist systems typically feature: Public ownership The means of production, such as factories, tools, and machinery, are owned by the public or state. Central planning A central planner or government body makes decisions about production and distribution. Welfare systems Socialist systems tend to have strong welfare systems and social safety nets. Shared control The laboring class shares ownership and control of the means of production. Socialists believe that capitalism leads to exploitation, an unfair distribution of resources and opportunities, and undermines democracy. They argue that socialism can address these problems by democratizing, rationalizing, and humanizing economic relations. Here's an simple definition for socialism.
It's no secret that not only are faculty left-leaning, but administrators way more. From the New York Times article, "Think Professors Are Liberal? Try School Administrators" "I found that liberal staff members outnumber their conservative counterparts by the astonishing ratio of 12-to-one. Only 6 percent of campus administrators identified as conservative to some degree, while 71 percent classified themselves as liberal or very liberal. It’s no wonder so much of the nonacademic programming on college campuses is politically one-sided. The 12-to-one ratio of liberal to conservative college administrators makes them the most left-leaning group on campus. In previous research, I found that academic faculty report a six-to-one ratio of liberal to conservative professors. Incoming first-year students, by contrast, reported less than a two-to-one ratio of liberals to conservatives, according to a 2016 finding by the Higher Education Research Institute. It appears that a fairly liberal student body is being taught by a very liberal professoriate - and socialized by an incredibly liberal group of administrators." but I'm sure this is just a right-wing conspiracy pushed by the New York Times. Look at what Anthea Butler said in a webinar and what the university said. They don't care. That's not a conspiracy theory
Faculty at public universities on average are more "liberal" than the general population. But that's hardly a secret. The conspiracy theory is that Turek claims universities all hate Christians and Christianity and are engaged in a conspiracy to attack Christianity and promote "Marxism". That's delusional nonsense, not least because universities are populated by a diverse range of faculty with various religious views including conservative Christian ones such as *Turek's own guest* who teaches at ASU.
@christophekeating21 In one sense, the conservatives, especially the Christian ones, have themselves to blame. They have opted out of the state system and set up their own private schools and universities. They have tended to be anti-intellectual, lacking critical thinking. In my opinion, they also did their children a disservice by keeping them in this bubble away from normal society. The poor kids emerge ill-equipped for life in the real world, and many give up on their faith.
@@Randal_Rauser In an echo chamber, there's no need for a conspiracy. When administrators and faculty are heavily skewed one way politically, there's no need for a conspiracy. If Turek says they're conspiring, he's wrong, but it doesn't change the point.
@@Randal_Rauser it certainly felt like that in every modern institution I’ve been into. Flags everywhere, tampons in male toilets, deranged cartoons etc
