About 20 years ago I lost everything, 'downsized' from a middle-class job, went through a divorce. lost the house. Finally got a job..construction labor digging ditches, pouring concrete. lived in a birding house., surrounded by the 'ten points' you mentioned. Refused to stay there. Every thing you listed is absolutely true.. Now I'm better than ever. But the people I knew then.,,are still there..complaining, wishing and giving every excuse you can imagine.

That's awesome. So glad you made it out. I've divorced twice and it's definitely rough, I can completely relate. I wish you all the best.

Pele Thompson A small side note...because I'm bragging to everybody I know ( yeah..a little obnoxious, I know...but I'm doing better.) I drove my BMW to the winery/resort this weekend.. ate at the Bistro and then shopped at the wine-mart. A far cry from the 'crap-box' car I drove (from a 'buy here-pay here' car lot)..while living in a single room Apt. in a cheap, scuzzy bording house 20 years ago. When I read this.. it's still hard to believe.. Smile! Life is good.

The choices aren't rich or poor. I'd rather be financially comfortable and fulfilled. I'm an immigrant and I've worked hard to be financially comfortable and I'm working on adding being fulfilled. But no, I don't particularly want to be rich. It's just not something I want to work toward. Being poor is miserable. Been there, done that, ate the stew. No thanks.

One thing I've noticed about the "poor" mindset, is that they will do anything, as much as a drug addict, to NOT have to face the possibility of not spending as they see fit. I had a girlfriend once who never balanced her checkbook because she simply couldn't face the fact that knowing how much money she had, might threaten her ability to shop willy nilly, without considering the financial reality. She would also, after paying a bill, if she saw that the check had not cleared in say a week or so, she would then use that as justification to go spend the money, her thinking was, well, the check hasnt cleared, so why not spend it. It blew me away

This is a great video. My whole life I've been poor, not by my choice by due to circumstances. And now, when I shifted my mind and way of thinking and working, I changed my life entirely. I can't wait for all of this to come together. :)

It really does come down to a mindset, let me describe a case in point regarding a friend of mine who was in 45K of credit card debt, owed the IRS tons of money, was struggling with money despite a healthy salary. He has since changed his ways, but there were two events that describe the mindset of the poor. One thing, he spent money left and right on "nice" things, clothes, cars, shit that signified status and quality, unfortunately, none of the things he bought appreciated in value, or could be sold at a later date, NONE OF IT. When I commented on this, his response was, "well I grew up with not alot of money, I coudlnt buy what I wanted, so now im making up for that". My counter point was, well, OK, you didnt like being "poor", so why not save your money, invest it, so that you are no longer feeling "poor", instead of buying useless shit to appear rich, and make up for some childhood feeling of deficit. Secondly, we were at Macys, I needed a jacket, I bought one for like $50 bucks, but he thought I should buy one that was near $400, I said, its way too much, its just a jacket. His response was, well, if you wear it for 3 years, thats 365 days a year, it really only costs you .36 cents a day. I said dude, that is the faultiest financial thinking I have ever heard. That, in a nutshell, is an anecdotal story, a true story, of why some people are poor, and some are not, and what the "poor" mindset looks like.
@johnnie2638

Good points. Good video. I also grew up poor & lived in trailer parks for all of my childhood. Poor people (and that includes me in the past) buy stuff so as to not feel so poor. Middle Class people buy liabilities, i.e. things that cost them money like cars & boats. Rich people buy assets, things that make them money, i.e. investments that return money to them.

Every business I have built with zero overhead had made money within the first week of starting it. Taking 10 years in the negative is not an option for me. All I care about is making money now, not in the distance future. All my business now run on their own within less then 1 year and make money when I sleep. Other then that, I agree with everything you said.

I suppose that is subjective and based on how the employee "lets you down". We should also never forget that we are only human and mistakes happen. However, yes, your word should mean something!
@almendoza0713
@almendoza0713 7 лет назад
The contents and the heading does give the impression of him being self righteous or arrogant but as you LISTEN to each item he mentioned, I must say it does make you think about yourself and your decision. The word "poor" is the message of decision. If you decide poorly then you're always going to think you're poor. Successful people didn't always started out rich but have always decided to never be poor. Thinking rich takes sacrifices, dedication and pain / suffering. Rich thinking knows that nothing are never handed but everything has to be taken. So you DECIDE whether you want to be poor or stop bullshiting and try to get rich.

What he didn't mention in this video is that you must have the ability or should I say audacity to have the mindset of a sociopath. Like him, you must ignore those feelings of love and compassion for others. You must over look that divine spirit that each and every one of humans possess. Your false judgements and assumptions of people and their circumstances must become your conviction. This will be necessary to justify why you will have so much, in a world were many have so few. I'm not here to pass judgement, just saying my peace. I wish you guys the best.
@TheShowThatSUX
@TheShowThatSUX 7 лет назад
Well that is a full load of BS. Who said you need to be a "sociopath" to get ahead? My most profitable activities are the ones where I conditioner first and foremost the needs and wishes of the other guy.
@omegahaxors3306
@omegahaxors3306 7 лет назад
Nothing wrong with that. Sociopaths are more likable because they know being a good person is advantageous to both them and their peers. Don't get the term mixed up with Psychopaths which intentionally go out of their way to be terrible because it gets them off.
@TheShowThatSUX
@TheShowThatSUX 7 лет назад
Omega Haxors You are right they do mean different things. but given the connotation of the original post which way do you think they were using the word?
@omegahaxors3306
@omegahaxors3306 7 лет назад
By both his word and definition: Sociopath. The reason I responded was there was an overwhelming implication that having heavy sociopathic tendencies means that one must give up on being a good person. Because everybody in business is just looking to step on everybody else just to get the top, right? Forget the fact that businesses only grow when their neighbors do. Forget the fact that 'successful' parasites hop between targets so often because they can't sustain growth that way.
@TheShowThatSUX

Omega Haxors You are kind of making my point. The way a biz grows and one gets rich is by at least fulling the need or greed of others.

Okay. So I'm not in any debt or anything as substantially critical as that, but my mindset needs an overhaul if I am ever to become entrepreneurial. That is, develop an innovative product or service which can be monetized to a point of self-sustainability. That is the goal. Having that goal, I am racking my brain to reverse engineer a means to that end. I'm not going to lie and say that I am making the progress I desire, because truth is, I'm not making any progress to speak of. I am trying like crazy to expand my network in the hopes of finding people from whom I can draw much-needed motivation and insight. The one advantage i have I suppose is I am open to opportunities as they present. I'm not locked into a certain path. the wait to make a move is getting tedious though. and the longer I wait the more I convince myself that I am holding myself back for fear of failure. Thank you for your suggestions and inspirational story of how you've turned things around for yourself. That is awesome.

I can possibly help, if not look up Dave Ramsey to teach you financial management and planning, and also jordan Belforts "10 steps to success" I went from drowning in debt not owning a car or having my own place to live, to having my own apartment (which might not seem big but I'm only 20), completely getting out of debt within a year, set goals to become rich and now I'm doing great. Make great money, have money in the bank, have money diversified in investments, and I'm looking at buying a new Benz. Might not sound so great yet but I've only been into this stuff for less then a year and I've turned my life around, and I'm doing better already then my parents and all of my friends. It's all in a mind set, and those two individuals can help you get that mindset. But if you need any more advice with finances or anything let me know and I'll help where I can.

+Idaneli Ramos +Idaneli Ramos you need to take the initiative and get yourself out there. I grew up lower middle with a single mom. I got myself out there and motivated myself slowly. Started by deciding to go to military school then joined a police volunteer program called explorers in my area that is for youths. You'll slowly find what your good at. I found I was good with numbers and started looking at trends and commodities in the 11th grade. You don't need to follow someone else's plan. A majority of the results when you look at "how to be a millionaire" are scams and only benefits the person advertising the service on how to become rich.

Love the video. I have a disability so all my life people tried 2 hold me back by saying that's an unrealistic goal when I had them. Did I listen? HELL NO! I wanted a lot of stuff so I achieved what I wanted 2. Others who knew about my disability were shocked when I reached my goals. If someone tells me that u can't achieve something I work twice as hard 2 achieve it. I am really good at drawing, designing, skiing etc. I refuse 2 be poor. I refuse 2 believe that just because I have a disability that I can't work my dream job. I will work my dream job and make a good amount of money enough 4 everything that I want. I look at having my disability as a blessing cause I have a creative imagination which I love. Everyone can live out there dreams it takes discipline, a plan, determination, motivation, focus, training, and discipline. I believe in God and Jesus Christ and myself.

The only thing I didn't like in this video is that you keep apologizing or excusing yourself before you hand down powerful truths and knowledge. Your message is powerful, timely and proactive. Never apologize to stupid people before you give them honesty and profound knowledge. This I find is the biggest problem we have today; we are anti darwinist!! We hate the truth so much in society that in order for intelligent people to persist effectively we have to coddle, favor and accommodate worthless individuals instead of allowing natural Darwinism to sweep them away. I say this because I'm guilty of the same thing. Instead of developing my future and projects I spent a lot of time entertaining and simplifying life for foolish people at my own expense. It's time for the good people in society to start handing out truth and justice with no chasers.

Wrong. If you buy new and buy smart you can easily get in and out of a car every couple of years without losing much money at all. If you have good credit, it shouldn't be hard to get 0% financing on most mainstream cars, I've never bought an exotic, so I don't know what kind of rates you get on those. Why use your money when you can use the banks for free?

I love the video, but I do believe he is sort of hitting on stereotypes about success that are not entirely true (true some or most of the time). I see it as he is addressing the poor mindset, because poor people may actually have what it takes. Plus poor is just a general category. How about someone who makes 20k a year that is smarter, better than someone rich, but just needs time for there idea to flourish and saying that they need time is not an excuse, but it's easy for someone who is rich to say it's an excuse when it's not. I believe he is right and the poor mindset holds people back, but the complexity of success and reasons why some people aren't driving lambos has much more to do than them being attributed with a poor mindset.

Thank you so much for this video! I can see that you have a big purpose on helping people better themselves. Unfortunately, as seen in some of the other comments on this video, poor minded people lash out when made to confront their reality instead of confronting it. Although, I hope that you were able to help some people with this. I definitely took something away from it. I used to do a lot of these things you mentioned, and I'm still paying for a lot of bad decisions I've made. Luckily, I had the opportunity to be surrounded by rich minded people and stuck with them instead of my old friends. It's hard to make the crossover as those poor minded friends you surrounded yourself with will lash out at you as you begin to change.

if you were truly poor which i would question then getting out of it on your own is a monumental task that many ppl who were born poor can not manage. if you managed to rise above that you are 1 in a million and that commendable but most dont have your force of will.many are treated like crap from day 1 and just that alone will stop you from trying stuff,and on top of that you cant afford to try new things because if you fail,you or your family might not eat that week.you ask any person in the mental health field if most ppl who are told they are useless all day every day and that they will not amount to anything can even imagine being in a better position.and that is that is all that is happening to them,and its not btw usually there are other mind numbingly bad things they are dealing with on top of all of that.its a matter that they dont have the tools within themselves to fight through it.so having ppl come along and say well you are just lazy or you need to try harder or look at me see how good i am is not something they can even come close to identifying with and even piles on more feeling of being useless.making a list of things they should or should not do unless you can get them past the mental conditioning they have already received over most or all of their lives,then all you are doing is loading on more.this is not said because i think you are a mean person but just a heads up that because you rose above not many can.perhaps you if true have experience with the position they are in could maybe come up with a system of things to help them.list of agencies/organizations ect that could help the learn the tools they need to even have a chance.

I would disagree, ALL CAN, but not many will. The jornay of 10,000 miles begins with a single step. But MOST say that is so far, and so wont take the first step. Then people do as you say and claim WONT = CANT. I say this as someone who was once homeless. I have often offered to help people, literally the deal has been: DO X, we split the money. They need to do nothing but show up and follow instructions. Guess what most say, that is to much work. Yep, showing up and following orders is to much work. The fact is a lot of getting your self out is like the ideal in this vid, don't do things that hurt you and do things that help you. I have this talk a dozen times a year, someone wants what I do. I say this is how you start, they say they dont have money. I point out they can cut the cable TV for netflix and instantly have $1000 next year in most cases. Fact is I can shake $1000+ out of a min wage house hold more out of people who earn more. But if they wont pick to spend that on helping them self they will always be stuck

TheShowThatSUX try living in that world ...with nun of your resorses and no family and friends helping then you would have a more of an understanding,but still wouldnt be quite the same as you have all who you are from growing up as you did.but at least it would make you see that they are not all useless lazy bums.
@TheShowThatSUX
@TheShowThatSUX 7 лет назад
Darrell barron What part of was HOMELESS did you not understand? And I never said "useless lazy bums". "Ignorant" would be a better term. But you do not fix ignorance by claiming it is smart and an understanding of money, you bluntly honestly claim they are doing bad things financially. And that those bad choices create bad results. "with nun of (my) resorses and no family and friends helping" is where my start to what I have now is. I practice what I preach and what got me from the street to what most would call well off, and not far off from what most would say is rich. I was homeless, my now wife was at one point a single mom (AKA one of the motel people). For this house hold this is not IN THEORY, this was out past. We know first hand the in and out of "living in that world" as you call it. And from that experience of what it TRULY TAKES is from where we speak. When people like you say IT CANT BE DONE, it more than angers me and my wife, because as people who were there at one point we know how many people your incorrect assumption just traped in poverty. And more so you are claiming what we both did is impossible.

If the proletariat will unite and take control of the means of production then we can balance out the wealth inequality. Worker owned cooperatives with horizontal organization will empower the labor class to improve their own economic situation.

God video. So true about thinking about future, actually doing things and following through. I see people who think they should be millionaires just because they have a great idea, but want someone else to execute for them or they just tell themselves what they can't do to instead of working on accomplishing items.

I don't have super cars, however, I would not consider myself poor at all. I have a decent $80k salary. I have driven a low value 2000 Corolla for 10 years out of college. Most people working at McDonalds have a fancier vehicle than mine. I feel half ignored by other vehicles on the road. I have been unnecessarily stopped multiple times by police, in pure speculation that I might be an easy target for fines regarding license/registration/insurance/drugs/etc. In essence, I'm looked down upon because of this vehicle. I could have purchased a new car at anytime. Why would I allow this? Simple--it is irrelevant and not included in my own definition of success. My definition of success is to provide happy and memorable experiences for my children, who in turn do the same for theirs. Why don't you drive a 2000 corolla? Don't you want to be smart, invest wisely in your vehicle, to achieve success more quickly? What if I said you need 100million in assets by age 50 to be considered successful? If you're not content, you might be driving my Corolla. If the extent of someone's goal is to avoid work, then what is the shortest path? Is it most efficient to sacrifice work-life balance and build for many years? Probably not. The shortest route to success, in our country, would probably be to work very little and receive Welfare, where we have the opportunity to practically retire at age 18. I'm not an advocate for this example, but, it is difficult to deny the logic. If you really wanted to delineate rich from poor, your focus would be the conveyance of understanding one's own uninfluenced definition of success, which in itself could be more difficult than reaching the goal. Unless your goal is simply a numeric figure in the bank, money is just a tool. Sex is another popular tool. There are many. To anyone reading, consider the advice of this narrow-minded fool, only for a second. You may come to realize that money is not your actual definition of success in life. How ridiculous would it be if, when you died, your financial worth was illuminated on screen over your coffin, as the only point of relevance? You sound like a narrow-minded fool. I highly recommend everyone lookup the TV series Black Mirror-Season 3-Episode 1, on Netflix or YT. The whole series is very interesting, in my opinion.

Seems like you are the butthurt one by making that comment. You gotta learn to take criticism and roll with it, not lash out because that IS one thing poor-minded people do. Rich-minded people can take criticism and go about their life. Never seen someone who claims to be so successful also act so unproffesional and childish. Set the example you want your followers to go by, this attitude won't help many people especially your followers get far in life. I can say you turned me off by that comment and I won't be purchasing whatever it is you offer with SecretEntourage.

That’s what I was thinking. He talks about not listening to people that drive Honda Civics and instead taking advice from 911 Turbo owners. I did not get out of student loan debt and into investing by driving a 911 Turbo. I did it by driving a 2007 Honda Civic. If you are focused on material things and status symbols instead of income generating assets, all your money will leak out and and you won’t have any money left. Always remember to pay yourself first. I got out of debt by paying myself instead of paying a car dealership.

Good job taking a general statement and applying it to your life personally. Obviously the smart thing to do when you have loans is to live cheap and pay them off. PJ and many other successful people recommend this because of how many people, especially the middle class, love to put on appearances and have nothing to show except liabilities. He was saying he didn't listen to people that can only afford honda civics seriously about business, making money, etc. because they have done nothing to demonstrate any knowledge on the matter. Obviously there are wealthy people that do not care for cars and drive honda civics and I am sure PJ would listen to them.

I do understand the difficulties and obstacles some people have who live in certain countries, and in some of those situations - due to political issues - they can be very limited in their ability to change their situation. I, myself, was born in Iran during the Iran-Iraq war and didn't immigrate to the US until my late teens. That was my opportunity and I made the most out of it. However, that's my point in all of this: being prepared to take opportunities when they present themselves.

Well I've had money and did really well at times, but I had two significant injuries in my life and its brought me down in financial/material worth, and it was during that period of not hustling and bring physically prevented from going and 'gaining' a little bit , or more, every day and yeah it freaks you out in a big way. I had to hget real and I found out how some really fucked people can be. Not paying me for my significant injuries. But you're right - money UA energy and we can't be the blocks to our own growth. I also was someone who never wanted to be tied down to a house, which thank God I would have lost it - . but yeah you also realize how easily you can be taken down. Some people haven't gotten a taste of the' real 'Hard Core shot this World has to offer, but make your money with good karma and intentions *- don't fuck people - don't have that attitude of greed either - have a greet relationship with your money.

So true about living in the past; I blame my mental poverty on my parents for me being born. I have a watch much bigger than yours and I only paid sixteen dollars for it, ha! I have a lot of expensive leather wallets because I learned the art of pick-pocketing. I surround myself with lesser idiots than I am which makes me feel like a bigger idiot. You use the shit and fuck word a lot, taken into account that you know these words make you sound rich, I use them and more to show people how rich I am. I say shit and fuck a lot like you but add motherfucker, asshole, and sumbitch to my cursing vocabulary, therefor sounding very rich.
