@@MilkCarton5776Man that ‘just bait and punish’ can be said about every weapon lmao sometimes it hard to approach and punish someone depending of things like positioning, threat zones, and recovery frames, you can’t just punish everything 😭

I’m a bow main and I don’t think it is the best weapon i just think that it’s powerful too easily

axe is weak against bow, gauntlets, orb, sword, katars and scythe. Basically just switch to the next weapon instead of trying to fight them with that.

I hate bow bc it has way too many true combo options it's really annoying too try to play aggressive against it and the juggling with nair and n light is way too good

@@christiancollongues5248 it might not be the best but it's still really good compared to many other weapons, Battleboots is free combos, Scythe is annoying, while the other weapons I'm not even going to mention XD

after only picking up the weapon some weeks ago i can confidently say its one of the easier weapons to learn.

Just watched the whole video and I was right lol

They removed other situation specific combos like sair nlight on spear, nair gc nlight on gaunts and reverse nair into sair or sair into nlight on a platform on lance. But somehow they didn't follow the trend for axe.

@@agnilover3582 Yeah I agree, my comment from 3 hours ago was me just being so tired of hearing people complaining about axe being “broken” that I caved and agreed with them Axe is easy to use and deals heavy damage, but definitely not broken, the only thing “broken about axe” is the Xull and Teros sig spammers, which isn’t even a fault of axe, sigs have nothing to do with the weapon itself

I disagree. Playrates don’t lie when it shows that a lot of players (even in diamond) play the same couple of weapons. The skill ceiling is not created just because people play the weapon, it’s made by the design of the weapon itself. Also, orb and cannon used to have a lot of people playing them. Sandstorm used to go crazy on cannon back in the day, and orb was used pretty frequently too. Although people don’t play those weapons much now, there is plenty of footage of them doing good. Even now, players like Raydish (orb main) and DarkNova (cannon main) are pros who do well with these weapons.

Thanks for the comment, but there’s a few things I’d like to clear up. First, not all of my points were made through statistics. My first section went over the moveset and explained what made it so overpowered. I will admit that statistics were a large backbone to my video, but they cannot be the only thing that’s looked at. That’s why I started with the weapon itself and then used statistics to support it. Gauntlets are in a strange spot. While I agree that they often do have a very high usage rate, and I do believe them to be a great weapon, they’re often used as a secondary. Many pro players that use the gauntlets will prefer to use their other weapon over the gaunts, and damage statistics in tournament sets often reflect this. So while I get what you’re saying, gauntlets are a bit of a special case. There is no such thing as heavy weapons in all reality, there’s just string and non-string. The frame data of weapons like axe and hammer do not show anything “heavy” about these weapons. As I said in the video, axe nlight and dlight have barely any startup frames, and hammer’s side light, dlight, nair, and recovery are all very quick too. So I disagree with grouping weapons together as “heavy” and then comparing them as such. Lastly, buffing weapons is the last thing we need. There are many weapons in the game right now that are way overtuned, which are axe, katars, spear, and a few others in my opinion. I think a massive patch of nerfs for many weapons would be best for the game, but that’s just my opinion. Anyways, I appreciate you taking the time to leave your thoughts 😁
