I am a PROGRAMMER, but not a DESIGNER. I've got books on Python/Java/C++/JavaScript/CSS/HTML/VueJS and so on. I'm being held back by not having a lick of design sense, even though one of my hobbies (that I haven't done in some time) is still-life painting :(
I agree to money isn't everything. Also, we all know, money only makes us happy and life easier (sometimes), but you won't be able to buy health, friends and so on. Coming back to the work topic, we all are individuals and each of us want different things in life. When you are very rooted, have family, you might not want to move every 3 month to a different country. Most importantly, before you start your career, what way it ever will be, think about it first. Find all pros and cons about each way before you make your decision, and then you have to be brave and start it.
I badly need your suggestion. My laptop is almost dead and i am thinking to upgrade.. 1. Mac mini M1 8gb 256gb SSD 2. Custom built pc: i7 12th gen, 36gb ram, 500ssd, no graphics card Mac mini costs me $900 and the high-end custom built pc costs me $1400 which is exactly $500 higher than M1 Mac baseline. I am completely confused to choose between these especially with tight budget. I can just go with M1 Mac mini for now without burning my wallet but I wanted a future proof machine for the next 5 years for development. Please suggest.
I'd go Mac Mini M1 but if you can get the 16gb ram version it's better for $200 extra. Mac mini is all I use for Web dev / design. Unless you need some Windows only software it should make you pretty happy for the years to come.
@@kosovofa7759 I totally agree with you but considering my budget situation I had to go with the baseline 256gb variant. I have a 1TB external SSD with me. For media and large files, I'll put them on external drive and will use the internal drive to host the applications I use.
