Why is this video so timely?!😩 I am 21 and never had a boyfriend. Through my teens I was single because I viewed dating differently to peers, I always felt dating was for when you were ready to get married. When I finished high school though older people in my congregation started bringing up marriage and courting to me. I started feeling like 'okay God, where he at?', I started thinking maybe something is wrong with me. Girls around my age were courting, getting engaged, getting married. I started comparing myself feeling like if I lost weight someone would want me. I shared what I felt with a friend's mom. She helped me see God's pefect and complete for love me. She urged me to work on my relationship with God first. I was 19 when I started to pursue "the season of singleness". It's my goal to learn how to love from God. I'm learning to mirror His love for me, to myself. I'm learning to restore the abusive relationship with my parents. I'm learning to forgive and forget. I've never felt so worthy in my life. I'm starting to understand who I am. It's not always easy. On this journey I've disappointed myself, had to forgive myself, felt lonely, had to learn to love being in my own company. It's been really helpful having like minded friends around me. Knowing that I can never be alone if God is involved has helped me so much🙏🙌. I appreciate having the chance to go through this refinement...not many do. Thanks for the video.❤

i've been single for all my 21 years of existence!!!

Being 18 almost 19 years single has taught me a level of self-sufficiency and self-love that a lot people just do not have. Yes, a partner is wonderful but they are not adding or creating anything that isn't already within you. Be okay with yourself and your own dreams because this is how you came into this world. A partner should only be there to match your energy but unfortunately many women are taught that finding a man means filling a "void". For some, a relationship even means a level of achievement. Yes, we are social and sexual animals but there should also be limits.

I am 27 and have been single for 10 years!! I am open to God bringing true love, but I'm also content and comfortable in the state that I'm in. I come from a small city that feeds into the graduate, marriage, children PERIOD. and what's crazy I had to move to the other side of the country to realize there's way more than that! Being single isn't a jail sentence or punishment. It took forever for me to figure that out. And I'm so happy that I have and that you are too.

Totally agree, I'm 17 and everyone around is worrying about who their next boyfriend, and not worrying about where their future is. I've learned to have patience with myself and God. I know he has someone planned just for me later on in life. I've learn to fill my time up with activities that give me soooo much joy by myself. I am truly excited for my next chapter in life because I know God has a lot planned for me. Enjoy your single life everyone, don't rush into anything Got has not giving you( speaking to religious people).

You are 20. Most people your age are in relationships that are in highly volatile (even if it isn't visible to outsiders) and will not lead to long term commitment anyway. I am shocked that the people around you are already pressing you to get married. Have you even completed uni? Do you have any idea what you might want to do for work? There are so many things more important your age than finding another equally confused young person to attach yourself to.

This is GREAT!! I'm 31, majority of my friends are in relationships, or married. I just broke up with my boyfriend because i felt something was missing. I DO feel like time is running out but i decided to not force God. For once ii'm learning to be ok with being single FOR REAL, no situationship, no friends with benefits. Just me and God

I'm 21 and currently in a relationship. I really enjoyed being single but I think it was a little detrimental to the way I carry out my relationships. Relationships became too disppsable for me. If a relationship wasn't going the way I wanted to i would just leave because I enjoyed being single more.... balance is needed!

AMAZING video sis ! What you touched on at the end about community and the importance of general relationships is so so real!! Literally visited a church recently, they spoke on this topic and my eyes have been OPEN. No man is an island because even the almighty God operates within the structure of family. I don't want to start preaching but the verse "on earth as it is in heaven" comes to mind; we are meant to replicate that being images of God. Perhaps when platonic relationships actually become intentionally loving and giving would we then be able to be effective in a romantic setting. And you're so right, it starts with us. Once we understand God's love for us and truly begin to love ourselves can we then give out unconditional love. Thank you for this video !

For me the single ting/life from a guys point a view, was calm at first because i hadn't really been around many girls but as i've got older ive slyly felt like 'rah man needs to step and atleast have ONE relationship' partly because i dont want my wife to by first and wonder what if? And partly because I kin of want be in a relationship but at the same time I guess I've been able to reap the benefits as in I've dodged alot of bullets like people I were attracted to weren't exactly good for me and I've kind of done a 180 interms of the type of person i want to be with but I guess another reason why i havent been in a relationship is defo due to my relationship with my dad - he split off with my mum and ive kind of taken the back seat from going for people i think are potential because i kind of want to know what type of man i'm going to be but at the same time a part of me wonders whether i'll be perfectly ready and i also slowed down interms of chasing other girls mainly because I feel like i fall very fast because i want to make other people happy but at the same time i'm learning to focus on myself more - so its a bit mad - sexual lust is defo hard if I'm honest and i guess that's partly why i havent jumped into a relationship yet since i want to discipline myself first...

I’ve never been in a relationship. I have been involved with guys who take advantage of me because I want to be loved and in a relationship SO BAD... especially since all of my friends are in relationships where guys treat them like queens.. I want that. I want roses for no reason. I want the cute paragraphs out of the blue. I get lonely all of the time, but I continue to be patient. But I’m scared I’ll never get into a relationship and no one will ever love me the way I deserve to be loved. I’ve gotten my heart broken multiple times throughout the years so I am very scared to talk to another guy because I’m scared he will break me. I am 20 years old.

Hiya I'm a young guy (17) and here are my thoughts on marriage, and how I have been influenced:I don't want to get married, ever, under any circumstances. I have heard way to many horror stories of how women (obviously not all women, and women aren't naturally more prone to this) ruin men's lives. Divorce is so heavily tilted in a woman's favour and so is the divorce court, for example my mother used this to take me and my siblings away from my father. However, my family heavily want me to get into a relationship and want me to be married, but I place much more value in personal goals and growth than any S/O could. There is a pressure for men to get married even more so in religious households, but I really think its a raw deal for men, however I appreciate the importance of relationships especially romantic ones.
