That last part about taming is definitely interesting to me. Recently it feels like the main cast are achieving ultimate forms of themselves so that they could become masters instead of students
"He was a true warrior, born with the strength and clout that would make most Saiyan fathers proud. But there was something far darker about him. Violent, threatening, and in time it began to scare me. I had no choice but to have a scientist craft a device that would control his power." Paragus quote about Broly
Broly definitely isn’t going to die. He has so much room for growth both power wise and character development. It would be a missed opportunity for him to not join the main cast. I hope he gets a whole arc to himself where he develops his own unique controlled form to overcome a powerful adversary through calming himself
Ever since they’ve rebooted Broly in DBS, I can’t get enough of the guy. Broly’s character is rather wholesome when calm and his overall feats are purely insane. I firmly believe that the next objective is to hone himself, with Goku as his mentor, so he will no longer become a liability.
We only live physically once so we shouldn’t be afraid to do anything bro, i smoke weed on my RU-vid channel and i ate Mcdonald’s inside Walmart, screw anyones opinion brotha mane☺️
Love the thoughtfulness. You got me excited to watch Super Broly again and excited for the future of this character. If it was another story I would think that Broly would die but the fact that it’s Dragon Ball makes me think that he will hang around until the end of the story just like all the other side characters.
I think if piccolo is able to use orange piccolo whenever I think it be super cool to see him and goku have some nice training fights. Besides maybe some bs filler in super leading up to TOP goku hasnt been able to seriously train with piccolo since the android saga.
@Batman The Wait what? Hulk doesn't get more powerful. Thats Hulks whole persona, the angrier the Hulk the more powerful he become, the whole point the dude was making is that both Hulk and Broly are giant raging monsters that get stronger and stronger.
@Batman The You clearly don’t read comics, let alone know anything about Hulk. Please rewatch all Hulk movies (if you even have) starting with 2003 Hulk and grab a few Hulk comics or watch Comicstorian’s channel on Hulk comics before you speak nonsense.
I think Baa was the crux to Brolys innocence and I think Brolys story about Baa and Limos comment backs this up after Broly had told Limo and Cheelai the story behind the item draped around Brolys waist which Limo after the fact would state "I think that's the most innocent thing I've heard in a while" or something along those lines and the reason why Paragus would cut the relationship off completely foreseeing the outcome of the two having that said relationship being a hindrance to Paraguses plains for revenge.
Broly is essentially the chosen one of his race and his genes are the rarest only seen every 1000 years. His Saiyan power is immeasurably magnified that his first Super Saiyan form is estimated at 500x his base, compared to 50x base which genetically applies to every other super saiyan including Gohan, Vegeta, Goku etc. He is an anomaly and the embodiment of Saiyan power in its purest form. He is a phenom like no other.
Geekdom, check his previous Broly content. Makes sense when not even post ToP SSB Goku & Vegeta together could hurt him when he became Super Saiyan. Hence why they were to forced to fuse.
I loved this video so much! Gave me a greater appreciation of Toriyama’s work. I should definitely read Journey to the West. From another Jordan Lee myself, I will praise the effort put into this video with Geekdom101 :)
I wasn't sure if I would, but I really like these Saiyuki episodes you've been doing! I enjoy really understanding why characters are written how they are, the ideology behind their creation, etc. Good job! Way to have great reach in a semi-niche area 💪💯
Like how Goku's story in z is inspired by superman's. Alien being sent to earth as a baby because his planet was being destroyed. Bardock was also originally a scientist like how superman's dad was. You can also kinda compare zod and his team to Vegeta, nappa, and raditz.
Having Broly become the strongest character of the story would be a good way to end Z. Go past Z with Broly being the main focus and maybe going back to Earth or acting as protector for universe 7 from planet Beerus.
I love dragon ball super and the direction that it's going I hope that they keep making it but I also love the idea of old school Broly from Z where he's just a Mindless straight up monster blowing through everybody so I really hope they fix an idea of Broly being an ally but keeps going berserk and then keeps becoming a half villain or at least a good plot convenience for an awesome fight
He was never mindless until bio-broly. Even in the second movie he still was capable of thinking he just was dead set on killing whatever challenger came into contact with him.
It all depends on Akira. He could further develop Broly and continue to make him the strongest by training through the Saga's or he Gohan him, it all depends. Broly is like the saiyan equivalent of Frieza, a true mutant. I could see a World War Hulk style saga with Broly, if he controls his rage and then something tragic happens, he transforms and nobody can stop him.
Super broly taming Ba was a metaphor to express the idea of broly being a person who instantly "tamed himself" or his ego. Conflict in dragon ball is always an example of conflicting ideals with oneself or others, each character gains strength by knowing themselves better through conflict and becoming a single entity between their external and internal states. Broly never wanted to pursue battle, he was never conflicted within himself but was forced to by his father. He had achieved a very natural state of enlightenment or single mindedness early in his life. He was able to tap into the great ape form with-ought transforming because that represents him as a character, he dosent see a difference between his external (sayian/human like) state and his internal(ideal/idenitty) self created state which is why he is so strong. The source behind his greatest strength was also that of his greatest weakness. Him being very naturally inclined towards wholeness and integration as a child left him isolated and in a perptually fixed state. His ego or his ideal was left un-challeged which was perfectly embodied by his tyrannical father.
If dragonball franchise where to ever do an official spin off they should definitely do it with Broly and his friends going on an adventure of self discovery as I don’t feel Broly should rely on Goku & Vegeta as sources of mentorship. Broly must find a way to control his power & anger in his own way.
The whole “is broly gonna be the strongest or is he gonna die” has been a point in my mind for awhile now. He’s my favorite character and I want the best for him, that’s why I say he needs to be nerfed. I feel like the best way to do it would be to have broly’s power reset every time he rages; I.E. after his fight in earth, when he was back on vampa in his base, he was only a bit stronger than when he first started off (cause of zenkais). Then you could say that broly still needs to train to get his base power up and the higher his base is, the less time it takes for his power to grow to the godly state it was. I feel like it’s necessary because he might die or arguably worse, get gohan-ed. he needs a nerf to keep him from becoming this overwhelming force that trivializes all fights and power-cliffs every fight. It’ll also work because it gives broly his own unique fighting style outside of just “fighting like a wild animal”. His gimmick being that if he can stall out a fight long enough he’ll win. Like 18 when she fought vegeta, except backwards. That and I also feel like he can be the guy who takes on all the fodder, he’s a massive tank that can survive a lot and deal back even more. Just like how goku is most entertaining when he’s in the back foot and vegeta when he’s dominating, I feel like broly is the most entertaining when he’s rampaging and beating people down which works perfect for a bunch of nameless fighters who just need to be dealt with.
a simple way to do it is he can only grow stronger if he's in rage mode and now that Goku has taught him control he no longer has access to that infinite power growth during a fight. that only happens when he completely loses it which now wont happen as often. that would make it so he keeps up with everyone else without always being the strongest.
I kinda wished that he found a way off of Vampa sooner, trained on multiple worlds, learned several techniques, and developed his saiyan abilities. The way things are going on now, it will be a while before we see Broly in action with the incredible power we know he can unleash.
@@thesehandsarelethal He would have to put up a shield to protect himself from the cold. As for the oxygen, he can hold his breath. Finding a nearby planet would with require sensing ki or his father could use the navigational system from the ship. If he can construct a shock collar that can pump a bolt of electricity with a single push of a button that lasted for over a decade, he could’ve tore out the ship’s navigational system and used it to find another planet.
@@thesehandsarelethal He uses it when Gogeta uses his star fall barrage(whatever you call it) and Broly uses his barrier. He actually uses it right after his super saiyan transformation.
It's going to be so hard to fit broly into Dragon Ball super, the only thing I can think of that make sense is this. Some how the manage to a close relationship between King Vegeta, Bardock, and Paragus. Then make it so that it ties to why they died or if they tried to accomplish something in betraying frieza Idk. I like the reference of Son Wukong I'm learning more and more about each time you make these videos
Just a cool reminder, Broly literally survived on Vampa by drinking the blood of his enemies (remember he never had water by the time of the first movie).
The way Broly's character is. He needs to meet Gohan. Their personalities are a lot alike. I think it's cool that he has a good thing going with Goku and Vegeta but, I see a really solid brotherly relationship that could happen between he and Gohan. They could be the perfect training partners, Broly could see what it's like living with friends and family by seeing Gohan's life, Gohan would have someone else with immense potential to train with and more. Even Piccolo has things he could teach to Broly. We could see Broly's personality really flourish and grow through these two. Just seeing Broly interact with all the other Z fighters as friends is a really touching thought. This man would go from being raised alone to having an entire fleet of friends who care for him, which would make any raging moments he would have that much more intense.🔥🤌🏾😩🥲
Why are you guys saying Broly has never been properly trained? His father was Paragus, a Colonel in the Saiyan Army. He trained Broly but not like Goku and Vegeta have been trained. He doesn't know how to control his power, but he has the skill to quickly learn while on the battlefield. Probably something he learned from his father. His ability to grow stronger while he fights and also draw power from his Ape form is a phenomenon. But, he does have training. Maybe we can nuance the type of training he has had and not dismiss it. Maybe he can teach Goku and Vegeta a lesson or two...
He’s the sayian that Beerus should be fighting. The one that The Oracle Fish told him about thirty-nine years before he took a long cat nap and woke up thinking about it. 🤞🏼💯
Broly got the best team surrounding him. He got Whis, Beerus, Goku, Vegeta, old supreme Kai… ect. Broly will be around long term and I’d don’t know why we have to either have broly end up being the strongest or dying at the end of the series. Broly ain’t a mindless warrior, he enjoys a good fight but he’s not going out his way looking for it like goku is lol. I just think we won’t see broly really be used in battles for a good while. He’ll pop up in the series to show progress but i don’t they will use him for any battles until the stakes called for it. Broly is like dropping a nuke as last resort and from what I see. They don’t need the Nuke yet, Goku and friends are doing just fine. But goku doesn’t progressively find stronger opponents so it’s only a matter of time.
This now also explains where the creator got the idea for the form and transformation in Legend: A DragonBall Tale, especially as he looks like he took a ton of inspiration from WuKong or the monkey King in Goku's super saiyan transformation and also why Vegeta kinda says his is wild and needs more refining 👌🏿👌🏿👌🏿 This series and all the fan spin offs are always some awesome and interesting thoughts and ideas Also love Jordan's DragonBall spin off as well 🙏🏿🙏🏿
I'm excited that broly hasn't been forgotten I loved og broly fo hi strength but super broly is the character I always wanted them to do with I'm back then
my favorite part of the broly scene was when whis tells him to observe Goku and Vegeta trained... and he showed a fantastic "shyt-eating grin" that got my gears turning... 😏
In the OG version He's born on the same day as Goku, in the Mornern Story He around closer to Vegeta's age I hope 15+ years from now we get another version of Broly movie
Broly should probably just be the next G.o.D, maybe Beerus gets wiped by zeno for some reason or something. This way, broly can be the goal post, while not necessarily being an enemy, and training w Goku like whis , and he can still unreasonably rage out and destroy
Personally rather than dying I think he's more likely to just aim to be strong enough to secure a peaceful life style and then just "retire". He seems to be someone who wants to be left alone and fight only to protect those he cares for.
I think once it is drawn in manga form, it will look more proportional I think it will be drawn to be a bit longer than SSJ2 hair, with more spikier hair..
I would love to see Broly join the Z fighters as another awesome Saiyan warrior! I'm kind of sick seeing only Vegeta and Goku as the only Saiyans. Broly would be an amazing Ally to join the team. I could see how he would be an awesome asset in multi-universal threats.
Broly is the path to a new transformation. From what is a known quantity that would be ssj4. Broly is the closest to that ideal, assuming Whis teaches him control.
All speculative. Broly is a fan favorite why they made him canon and it did exceptionally well. The direction they take this could go anywhere as it is fiction, but I hope that he becomes an ace in the hole, only brought out in unwinnable odds. He needs to go his own way after trained to harness his power, find his reason in life then only come back to help as needed. The only logical alternative would be for him to take over as main protagonist; either replacing vegeta, goku or both. The guy went toe to toe with a fusion of two ss blues, trained under an angel for years and still pushed them all while being raised his entire life to reject his power and not master it.
People shouldn’t be so short sighted and think That Broly is going to hold a candle to Goku going forward. Most villains that Goku faces become a friend. They all are as powerful as he is, many with way less training (Frieza is a decent example). And even though those powerful villains are now on the sidelines as a friend, none of them have any narrative weight or strength. Broly will be bo different. People fanboy out and forgot that this happens every other arc.
Well I really wish they would use him.. but all precedent shows that he isnt going to be a part of ANYTHING. Frieza trained for a month or two, skipped by SS1,2,3& God form and was stronger than Blue. Where’s he at? Buu more powerful than SS3 goku, where’s he at? Picollo was stronger than Goku in Db, and got sidelined. THEN, he passed by Goku twice, where’s he at? Broly is now just more comic relief on the sidelines. It’s weird to me that people keep thinking these bad-guys-turned-good are going to be a special part of the narrative going forward. Broly got beat. He’s done. It’s over.
Hell, Roshi, krillain, tien, YAMCHA, Vegeta, Android 18… All these people were once POWERFUL, end of the world villains, that came over to the Z fighters’ side… and nothing. Broly is going to be nothing. He’s just someone to make Beerus jealous. I hope we get. Beerus-Rocky montage. Where he works out ti Eye of the Tiger
Broly was holding the candle damn near the whole movie 1v2 both blue vegeta and goku and force them to fuse and then made them use blue straight up skipping god with NO TRAINING
@@DopeBoyy1017 I agree. Broly schooled them. He made them look like little girls. I’m strictly taking to a comment made in the video that Broly would take over as the main character or die… there is ZERO chance of him keeping up with Goku going forward. I’m not saying I want that. Or that his movie didn’t prove blah blah blah. There’s just ALWAYS people that get brought in, and they all amount to zero
Son Wukong character was so active in journey to the west you could easily mistake him as the protagonist when he's actually the deuteragonist. Both Mikitaka and Son Wukong are main characters, but Mikitaka is the protagonist.
I wonder if their ever be a movie when broly as a good guy from another dimention other than being a android or clone. I often wonder why he wasn't wish to be more of a civil person not using his power for destruction and killing.
broly is so dope! I definitely wanna see an actual arc with him being the main hero of that arc. maybe not completely surpassing ultra instinct or ultra ego cuz that power scaling past those levels is really just so not needed right now.
Broly never even properly trained and never had a real fight, if he does then it'd be ridiculous not to scale him up above everyone else at least temporarily.
man i love this talks/analysis of DB content. I really really hope to see more of broly now that he is not a bad guy also he is training and learning to control his power.
Broly would keep getting stronger, become a candidate to be the God of Destruction since goku and vegeta don't want the job and they just keep using him as a goal post because of that
@@iandubs4560 It's already been established why they are. Their potential is greater because saiyans lack what a half breed can utilized full to their potential. The only thing that gets in their way is their lack of fighting.
Gohan has had the best teachers, broly however nah? In terms of getting stronger whilst fighting the biggest increase was clearly in the broly movie. Weaker than base vegeta to arguably even greater than ssjg gogeta levels against veterans…
@@seansean250 well duh. Broly was given the biggest opportunity for single battle growth in the series. I'm not saying Gohan is capable of the same, especially in an alternate universe where Saichoro never unlocked his potential, but it is fascinating how many things these two have in common.
Seems like anything that gets introduced that doesn't involve Goku and to a slight degree Vegeta, gets left behind. Planet Sadala, Goku vs Beerus rematch, the other universes, etc. Broly will probably be treated the same way unfortunately.
Broly and Goku are Yin-Yang in DB kinda... not Vegeta n Goku. Broly was born with vast combat potential, born with power ,but with none of the warmth from his peers and company, none of the direction and emotional bonding. Broly already has what Goku strives for, that is unparalleled sense and ability of combat. Goku had family, friends, training, motivation, love, respect, all the things Broly needs, if not more than Goku.
Wow i never thought about this. Broly is like what goku could have been if it went south. This so interesting. Have him on more! He may be on to something!!!
So I got super blitz'd today and was watching your previous videos about Broly and his power and it got me thinking. I've only just started brushing up on my knowledge again but basically and forgive me if what I'm about to say has already been debunked Regarding his surpressed Great Ape Form, what if that's the thing with his power, his (and Kales) comes from an almost primal place, a mutation in their genes basically that allows them to access the Ape Form in a new way 🤔 Think about it, how much of the Ape forms have we seen? Only ever Goku and Gohan using the form and going wild, and Vegeta, who had full control of himself and his abilities. So my point is, we have never really seen that form properly explored. The only real development we got with it was Goku and Baby possessed Vegeta in a sort of SSJ form of it. But when Goku regain his mind, it allowed him to access SSJ4. SO. What if, it's almost a seperate path of Power to going purely down the SSJ route 🤔 so, Broly and Kale, can basically achieve a human form Great Ape kinda, like Goku using UI in base and Vegeta with UE in base, what if by Broly fighting and mastering this form of power it's what allows him to use an almost evolved, or even devolved primal form of SSJ, and what's why his forms are so different to normal SSJ forms. So basically Brolys forms would be Great Ape Super Saiyan human form, or something. He accessed higher levels of this in the movie, which is when he got the ultra buff, no pupils form, this is similar to Goku and Gohan in their Ape Form, but if he is able to regain his mind, master his rage, and be in control, it would be like Vegeta fucking up Goku in their first battle in his Ape form, and like Goku in GT, imagine Broly like he was at the end of the movie, completely lost to his rage and in that form, but then like a light coming on, he remembers himself and regains composure, and a feeling like a weight bearing down on him, constricting his mind, is suddenly broken. Then the world or even galaxy he is in would probably explode as he transformed 😅
I think Broly is going to be made in a powerful af character but sadly no one from the main cast is going to over shadow Goku!...Not even Gohan who was suppose to take over after cell!!!
Something interesting I’ve realized is, Broly is significantly bigger than Goku, with Goku being taller than Vegeta, even in his base form. I wonder if growing up on a different planet, with giant creatures, influenced that.
There’s literally nothing in Journey To The West that says Son Wukong is “evil”. All he did was do something the Gods didn’t agree with. That’s literally it.
I kinda miss the old Broly. Broly being an evil Saiyan makes sense but I wish that DBZ made it make more sense. Broly could’ve been a sadistic character by being taught to hate his own kind by his own father Paragus,Paragus wanting to seek vengeance against his own race and still carrying the motives that Saiyans shared while working under Frieza conquering/selling planets. Except Broly would become more possessed by his power with Broly instead deciding to destroy all planets in impose to conquering them. This resulting in Broly using the mind control technology developed by an enslaved race to control his power and use it to his advantage. It could remind you of Akuma from Street Fighter with Akuma becoming possessed with power and forsaking his morals for power. Broly could encounter the other Saiyans which would lead to of course Broly wearing a costume to disguise himself as one of the slaves would attack Goku but begin to give into his power almost resulting in his cover being blown, resulting in Paragus needing to reprimand him. Trunks and the others could finally uncover the mystery of Fake Planet Vegeta and this would result in Broly stepping in for his father and battling the other Z Fighters but would overcome the mind control of his father and become a demonic being giving into his power. Broly would begin overwhelming the other Saiyans and showing his complete interest in killing all other beings in the universe.
