They’ve said before that these english songs they’ve been releasing are mostly since the world was going through a hard time and english is the best way to reach the most people and deliver the joy they wanted to deliver. It was also a little trick on the western media since dynamite, an english song, was such a success with massive radio play and life goes on, a korean song, received little to no radio play. in a sense they made the media expose their xenophobia, since it was obvious a korean song was receiving no radio support and an english song did. their korean songs are still coming and BE was also released less than a year ago. they also just released their new japanese compilation album! these english songs are mostly for fun as they’ve said themselves, but it’s definitely fun to get into their old stuff & b-sides and just read what they’ve got to say in the language that they can express it best with.

Do people forget they have a whole korean album, soundcloud and japanese songs in between the two english tracks? Lol

I think it’s great that they’re challenging themselves and looking to conquer bc they’ve already won everything in their country! They are definitely getting a Grammy. BUT I do think that one day they’ll release music talking about how after everything, it just doesn’t matter as much anymore and that being on top pretty much means nothing. Let’s let them enjoy the ride for now, let’s let them win everything and conquer the world and be happy and let’s wait for them when they come back home. But let’s enjoy the ride w them bc their English songs are FUN. I know that they’ll be releasing incredible deep songs in their language just like they always have. Remember they haven’t changed, they’ve added to their sound.

They are truly 7 young men who preach authenticity and not afraid to discuss issues revolving humans through music doesnt matter if its a risky issue that could lead to backlash from people in power. Just imagine them debuting with songs that tell teenagers to question your own dreams!!! Like "what is your true dream?! Not the mainstream dreams like lawyer, doctor, engineer etc...dont let yourself get feed up by other's dream". No groups ever debuted to the harsh industry and straight up judging the educational system and fucked up society, only BTS. And they deserve every ounce of success they got rn.

This song is a classic, well all of their older songs are really. Now their Eng songs are just something new that they want to try and they’re enjoying it. I don’t like how some fans who share your POV, don’t have this same energy whenever BTS make Japanese songs. Why are their Japanese songs seen as just more amazing gifts, instead of just targets for Japan’s charts (2nd largest industry) to prove their worth in a country that’s mostly closed off? They break many records there each cb as well. It’s kinda sad that they’re finally giving Eng speaking fans a few songs as gifts for our support, and it’s just seen as inauthentic or non-BTS, which is why I think they addressed the ppl saying “BTS have changed & they’re not how they used to be” in their recent V-live. I just want them to be happy making music in any language they want. They’ve given us 3 English songs out of their whole entire 8yr career & they’re not worth any less than their non-Eng songs. If they’re trying to win a Grammy in this racist & xenophobic industry, then that’s fine. It’s what they want & there’s nothing wrong with that, but they already know their worth. They already have number 1 hits with their non-English songs & they’ve accomplished what no one in their country ever has. Anyway, if fans are craving more Korean bops, Mots7 & BE do exist. It’s like everyone’s forgotten about them, which is really sad seeing how much work BTS put into BE. These albums were released just last year🥺 also their old music is still available to stream everywhere.

I would agree with you that the English songs are designed to get recognized by the US if it wasn't for a little NO 1 HIT named LIFE GOES ON. Dynamite may have been intended to get their foot in the door but I'm not even sure that's true. I truly believe they intended the English songs to be a gift for the international ARMY. They don't need to sing in English to achieve anything. They know that. MAYBE they are chasing a Grammy in our xenophobic country, but, really, it's the only goal left to chase. Either way, they know who they are and their best work is and always will be in their native language. They know that and we know that.
