18 years old jk did that 💜 FYI : he participated in the show to let the world know who bts are, he said that bts is known for being a hiphop group who is good at rapping but he wanted the world to know that bts has great vocals also. And he did that in the most beautiful way 💜 For me he didn't lose 💜 he sang beautifuly, no one expected him to be a young boy at the age of 18, the main vocalist of bts did that 💜 This is a win, for me, it's not about competition as much as it's about recognition 💜

Seriously I was suprised he didn't win I mean this song with his voice is a killer! his breathy tone, falsetto and his breath control is insanely good.

JK’s “ If You “ version to me sounds better than the original. Not hating on the original song tho. I like it too but I just love JK’s version. Even my daughter loves this so much that she always plays the song. 💜💜💜

It's crazy that the original "If you" of Big Bang is a different type of song. JK made it became a new song.

Thre is a lot of artists that are good at singing but still they can't move you because of lack in tone quality or other reasons. JKook has such a beautiful tone to his voice and that is what makes him stand out. It's just so b eautiful.

How i wish Jungkook cud able to sing solo song in a tv show or even a collab with other singer. I just believe that his talent as a singer need more exposure. Please check his other song covers, every covers is superb.

The guy who he lost to was really good, too...he sang big... Personally, I prefer JK's, because I can listen to him all day long on repeat and still not get tired of it.

Personally, I would’ve given the win to Jk. It’s not because the other singer was less than, cz they were absolutely phenomenal.! But because Jungkook really moved me. He brought me in. It’s like he was one of those snake charmers and I couldn’t help following. I cried the first few times I listened to it. This is why they also say that art is subjective, cz Jk losing definitely doesn’t mean that he did poorly or that he was any less than the other, in my opinion.

In the first song, jungkook won the result with a female singer. And in the second round, jungkook did really well, but the singer was a strong opponent. The singer who defeated jungkook on that day and went to the next round won that day and was a strong opponent for a few weeks after that.. Still, it is true that jungkook's stage on this day received a good evaluation from many people.

Jungkook was only 19 when he sang this. Born in '97 and this show was in '16. He joined BTS when he was 14 in Korean age. He was only 13 in U.S. age. Such a beautiful voice.

I won't tell you who JK lost to, but I will say that person covered a certain BTS song a couple years later.

I love Big Bang and respect all they do… and respectfully I much prefer jungkooks version… I do like the Big Bang version… but this cover being able to hear jungkooks clear vocals… starting off slow and breathy… almost fragile… to build beautifully and it’s impossible not to feel what he’s conveying through his voice even if you don’t know the lyrics. There are so many expertly handled vocal techniques for young jk that it’s baffling… he switches between voice styles and flips so easily and doesn’t sound like any of this was hard for him at all… he was in control the whole time… even in the more vulnerable parts of the song…. And I’m glad you described accurately what I felt during “if you” when you said that part towards the end is why you love r and b bc the ending note hits you right in the feels lol I felt it man…. That same part just gorgeous…. And then his big ending built up finish seriously is shocking how well he handled the techniques and really showed how versatile he is. My favorite thing about baby jk going on masked singer is that bts got no respect as vocalists… ppl said nobody could sing in bts and that they only had good rappers … so jk was hoping to show that bts doesn’t just have one good vocalist… but many… and they’re capable of more than ppl thought…. And I think he did just that…. Ppl were not expecting it to be him… bc the vocalists were overlooked… and at least it got people into the group as a whole so they could discover the incredible artists and performers that bts has…. Proud of baby jk taking on that challenge… standing up for himself and his hyungs… and this cover is still one of my faves !

Actually jk was also is the 3rd best performer in all years of that show,and some of those gudges is asking him about to be a solo perfomer, because they said that he could be a ballader,r nb, etcetera.

I love his performance on masked singer!!! I love big bang’s “if you” but I’ll be honest, Jungkook’s version will always be my fav!! He is so well rounded in his singing, and he will always have my respect for personally making the decision to go to masked singer at only 18 cuz he wanted to let the haters know that BTS not only have a great rapline but they have a great vocal line too!!! To celebrate his coming of age, he decided to participate in the show and the judges loved him, they said he is able to sing very easily in all ranges and was shocked when he was revealed cus they were so sure that he wasn’t an idol but a singer/solo artist!!

I saw the performance of the person he competed with and I honestly believe he won. I guess the judges were more into the belt song of his competitor and not in the technique and voice quality of JK. 💜

And to think JK wanted to quit BTS and become a full time dancer. BTS had sent him to CA to train, and he fell in love with dancing. At that time he didn't know he had a voice that would become the head of the vocal line. He had no clue of his singing potential. Luckily, Jimin talked him out of it. Also, when he came back BTS gave him voice lessons. He quit his voice teacher. He didn't like the fact that she was training his voice to have a different sound. He KNEW his sound was fine and didn't need to be changed. He was right! No one sounds like JK!!!

Though I really love JK and obsessd with the feel he gives, I admit that technically he still has a long way to go compared to top tier soloist singers, I would say he's a top teir dancing singer and great performer. Kookie's component here, Jung Dong-ha, who is 17years older, a former lead singer of a korean legendary rock band, a vocal professor at University. JK's voice was pure boyish and fresh at 18, but Jung Dongha has much more power, support and experiences in his vocal.
