so "grammar" in this context just basically means a more academically-inclined/oriented school. In australia, "xx grammar school" is basically a top tier school. when you say you're from a grammar school, you're the shit. HAHAHAHAHAHA
@@pastelcardigan Could be either, but more the former. I know grammar schools that have boarding programmes. Grammar schools are basically the only acceptable option for education in Australia atm. Only a few selective public schools are worth sending your kids to.
The moment he said 'P-E-E-L is not in the right order' I STARTED TO LAUGH, never expected this Oral exam structure to magically appear out of nowhere in the video
Yo your videos are what makes my day! I hope you stay consistent with this type of content for RU-vid to really push your content out there. It needs to be out there! Love it
I have 2 dozen acquaintances/mates from ACS, I didn't find that they were more academically-inclined than I was. Schools in Singapore, even IB ones, in order to do well, you just have to be able to memorize facts. Rote memorization means nothing without creativity and the latter is what will decide your fate in society.
Well I don't think ACS really has a reputation for academic rigour, more so just wealth. Also, although you do have a point about education in Singapore, there is an undeniable strong correlation between academic achievement and financial success. To boil it down into merely memorization is to be disingenuous imo. I understand the appeal of the whole anti-establishment sentiment, but the "dumb kid" only gets the girl and the money in the movies. Probability vs Possibility.
@@Jerryfromtheblocm I think you misunderstood. I’m saying from personal experience as a business owner and quasi-interviewing fellow business people, I know far more who are financially better off than the alumni from such institutions. My point is creativity and critical thinking wins in real life. Not people who can dish out trivia. I also grew up and live between three countries so I figure I have a pretty good reference point.
Am I the only one that's completely floored by how tremendously restarted most of the comments by gals, highlighted in this video were??? "In my experience guys that go to xxJC have pee pees that bend left, because I dated 2 guys from that school" an actual conscious living organism truly felt strongly enough about it to post that online. These are the same chicks we have to sift through. We are in the trenches boys...
Ermmm...that lemonade post is not very well-written. There's no PEEL to begin with - her story is hard to follow! Anyway, I got curious and found the writer's lemonade account. She seems to be in her 30s - according to her other posts, so maybe her "assessment" or rating system may be a bit outdated? But then again, once an ACS boy always an ACS boy? 😂
Why does China warn citizens in Singapore to stay away from gambling? We never seen any ambassador of India, US, SEA, UAE, Indo-Pacific, etc to stay away from Marina Bay Sands Casino, Las Vegas Sands, and Resorts World Sentosa Casino, operated by Genting Singapore before.
Yeah its just mostly a China thing Apparently because gambling is banned in China. The only place they can gamble at is in SAR Macau since it is legal. China does not only warn its citizens in Singapore, they have warned their citizens in other countries like Malaysia and South Korea plus they have made agreements with several SEA countries to curb gambling in the region. also thats such a random topic to bring up
@@arielleleung i went to ACS before going overseas and never knew it was considered an elite school lol. But considering the president's relative (yes of the country) went to my overseas school (which was also ACS), i wouldnt be surprised.
