I have lived in Costa Rica and Panama. If I may take the liberty to share my experiences, and be direct and frank. Be prepared for the following, that many find uncomfortable to discuss. Many in the expat communities create their own select people for various clicks. Many expats bring their negative baggage from North America etc. Backstabbing and toxic occurrences are common. Also, gated communities with HOAs, can also be polarizing.

Enjoyed the video! Very informative. I'm an International Living subscriber and met you at the conference in PCty in 2019. We briefly discussed our Richmond roots. Hoping to relocate to PCty within the next six months. I appreciate your tip about searching FB or other sites for rentals because I've only used Panama Equity, Panama Realtor and other such sites to date. Your suggestions may lead me to a hidden gem. Shout out for the BioMuseo! I lived/worked in Panama City for 3 months, several years ago. To this day my 2 Panama keepsakes are a t-shirt and baseball cap from the BioMuseo. BEE OH MU ZAY OH . . It really is a fascinating museum and it’s a Frank Gehry building . . also a great location. blah blah You are definitely the best International Living correspondent.

@@donettenedd3542 No I am living in Baton rouge. I am scheduled to fulfill my final 3-year contract on June 30 or 2024 and then retire. My plans are to finalize that summer and get moved by September 30. How about you?

Great video. Thank you. I have been an expat for most of my life. I am completely fluent in Spanish. I am a very active senior in excellent health. I am looking at Panamá very seriously. I have traveled to Panamá before. Do you think I get a good feel for Panamá City and the country in a 10 day visit? Or, should I plan on two weeks? Grateful for your thoughts.
