hi I’m a hs senior thinking about about dental school for the future. I’m currently taking dual enrollment classes at my high school. I have already completed 29 of the 60 credits needed for an associate of science and my college gpa is 3.250 ... is it possible I could still get accepted into dental if I continue to get as and be when I transfer to a non competitive state school for my undergrad ? I will be completing my freshman and sophomore year at community. Thank you!
Hi there! It’s awesome that you’re shooting for dental school at such a young age! Yes it is absolutely possible! I will just tell you to make it an absolute priority to get As in all of your dental pre reqs. It’s very difficult to do this (if you don’t it’s not the end of the world) but you should try and shoot for it because it could really make a difference for you. At the end of all of this you’ll take the DAT. Prep and work hard for that, do well, and you will make it to dental school no doubt! You just need to continue doing what works for you now and trying to find ways to pull out As. You can do this!! Best of luck it will be a fun journey!
Hey! I’m a freshman rn and My gen chem grades aren’t what i want them to be. Wud me retaking them up my gpa? And how does retaking them impact my dental school apps?
Hi,I’m a sophomore and I withdrew some of my classes. Even though that did not affect my gpa, but will that affect me applying for dental school? Thank you
I'm sorry for the late response! You certainly can still be accepted with dropped classes! I would just encourage you to stick with all of your classes for the full semester from here on out! Also just keep in mind you will be asked about those dropped classes in your dental school interviews so have some answers ready!
Thanks for the comment! I was an English major in college! I actually JUST released a podcast episode on this channel about my path to dentistry! It may interest you!
I did not! As I mention in the video, I started out down in Florida for my freshman year and then transferred for my sophomore year. Just graduated this month from undergrad, so technically I did 4.5 years. My gap time will be this Spring which I have off! Thanks for watching!
Steve K thanks for the feedback! I thought the same thing when rewatching. I’m still learning Premiere Pro which is new to me, but I’ll fix this for the next video!
