Oh, Andrew. I think it was his video of who knows me best between Alex and Alexxis where she perfectly articulated it. About having high expectations of needing big things to happen for it to matter and feeling fulfilled. I think when you put too much pressure on things to happen that you will always be disappointed. You are more than just existing right now, Andrew! You feel things emotionally every day. Not every moment of your life needs to be this “epic” thing for it to be a countable memory.

My junior and senior years in high school were the absolute best years of my entire school career because sophomore year was spent at home isolated in my room and getting on video calls and having no motivation for anything at all. My love for people became greater after that. Now I really miss high school.

Alex’s advice to himself from a year ago…it did feel pretty impulsive to change wassabi back to wassabi productions with no transition or closure to the vlogs ending. I think unfortunately that turned a lot of that audience away. I still think continuing to have those kind of videos for this channel would have worked out better. The podcast could also still live on this channel as well. I’ve seen others just add the tab for podcasts even with a different name for the podcast. I think Smosh does this. Or even have done the podcast on wassabi as maybe Alex’s vlog audience would have appreciated the more open talk on there. Maybe this is negative thinking but for me this is just practical thinking but especially at this age where you have a partner to consider, a future family you’re trying to provide for, etc but having a plan b or a backup plan is important. I know some people think that means you don’t believe in yourself or you’re just setting yourself up with the expectations to fail but when you’re in this current stage of life where it’s no longer your early 20s you also have to be reasonable. Yes, the main goal is for these current ventures to really get off the ground and not saying they won’t but I’m a believer of not putting all your eggs in one basket. It’s also like with traditional jobs. You can get laid off and then you have to figure out what else you can do. That’s why I don’t think it’s bad to have options or a plan of just in case. And that’s why I think Alex should have kept wassabi as his personal channel because Roi will always have Guava Juice. I don’t think waiting for these channels to take off before making moves for yourself is exactly smart either. It’s sweet that all the focus and sacrifice to make this work but it’s also okay to be a little selfish and try to make something happen for yourself. I think Roi is in a different place in his life too where he’s married, he’s paid for the rings and wedding, they have a house and they have that foundation for kids that could happen very soon. But that’s just my way of thinking, it’s not necessarily the right way of course but from my experience I feel like that’s the key to stability and comfortability. Sorry for the novel lol.

Andrew crazy stories are spontaneous and not well thought of. This is an unsolicited advice, but dont stress or force things too much. Constant comparison and overthinking will only make you unhappy despite any progress.

I’ve already commented on Andrew’s latest video so this is mostly for Alex. Noticed the mentioning of anxiety a lot lately and again in Andrew’s video and said especially recently. Trying not to read too hard into things with the absence in Aaron’s recent vlog but I hope things are okay. I can’t relate because I don’t make RU-vid videos but I’m sure the views being up and down or not as they used to be can mess with your mental health especially when you feel the weight of people depending on you or that’s what you’ve placed on yourself. Whether that’s the crew, your business partner or your significant other. All of these people, in their respective ways, that’s your team and you’re not meant to do it alone or have it all on you. You’re not letting anyone down if this doesn’t become what you thought it would be. It just means this wasn’t the right path and as someone who struggled heavily with accepting that a certain path was not for me, I know that can be hard to swallow at first but once you do it clears the way for what really is. I follow this guy on IG who is all about “normalizing the norm.” He worked a traditional 9-5 and then left it to be a videographer because that was his passion. He worked odd hours and made less than what he was making and what was once something he enjoyed doing then became a burden and no longer fun. So, he took an opportunity to go back to corporate and the 9-5 and make making videos a hobby again. His 9-5 and the routine of it all has given him stability for him and his wife and now newborn. They don’t live in a massive house but are comfortable and now social media has taken off for him because the journey has been relatable. I know finding an alternative to RU-vid probably is daunting especially since this has been your career for almost 20 years but I know you’ve mentioned real estate in the past…maybe something to think about? I think you’d be great at showing houses or properties. Or take the leap and start your own channel now and go into it as more of a hobby and not look at it as a job. I feel like that’s how your first vlog channel took off. The other thing is why not start going to therapy regularly now? It sometimes feels like we have nothing to talk about but you’ll be surprised at what gets unpacked in therapy. I think you need to figure out why you always feel like you need to put everyone on your back and that will help the anxiety. Even maybe just opening up and talking to your parents? Listening to your upbringing I’m sure they both felt the pressures of having to provide for 4 kids. I said this on Andrew’s video but even just talking to each other about what’s going on or just crying together could be good for the both of you. Whatever is going on, I hope it gets better. Maybe you need to start going back to the boxing gym even if you don’t have a fight. Start embracing your hobbies again!

Alex sounds so salty about the perfect match video and like he wants Roni and Alexxis to do bad with it too loooool. I think pride and ego were a little bruised but you can’t please everyone. Even in david’s videos people get upset at who gets eliminated. Maybe next time tell the editors to focus on the chemistry between Andrew and the winner and not cut things out that backup why she won lol. But it’s okay if you don’t know best and especially for someone else. I think in the end the girl chosen was a fine choice for Andrew given his own video with her. I do think the girls would do better in their thought process on who to eliminate though. No offense, Alex lol.
