Miss Lisa, well done, I live here sometimes ( my wife is from Myanmar) and agree with all your observations. Besides that I came here first time around 22 years ago and I am the guy who loved to be here from the hour I landed in Yangon. Real life, real people without any of the western negative impact. I feel free here without any pressure the western people face everyday. It's a gem in the world beside the problems the Myanmar is facing right now. Congrats

Thank you so much for such a beautiful message. I am so touched by the replies on here tonight, I feel like drawing around me, we are all kindred spirits. We all see the beauty and magic of this place and how special the people are. I agree the West really took the wrong path. Yes the reality makes me laugh and cry every day. Just now I saw a painfully thin lady with a baby in my local shop and I could see she was scanning to find the cheapest thing to feed her child. I gave her 10000Kts because I can not unsee what I see

Hi Liza! I just found your videos and I find them really deep and thoughtful. I am arriving in Yangon in August for the first time to meet my girlfriend's family and I am looking opportunities to relocate there, which your videos are helping. Sorry that you had a bad experience in Sth America (I'm from Peru)

Hi Miss Liza! Just want to say thank you for all the informaion about Myanmar. As you know, there is basically no information about life in Yangon sans a few clickbait videos like you mentioned, made by people just passing though. Your videos were a huge help in me making my decision to move to Yangon to teach. After a year of planning, and watching I'm pretty sure every one of your videos, I arrived a week ago and I couldn't be happier. Myanmar is everything you say and so much more! This video is very helpful as a recent arrival, and I can't thank you enough for the perspective. Please take care, see you in the next vid haha.

Oh this is such a beautiful message to receive. It has taken me a while to find my groove in what this channel is all about. Finally the penny dropped and then I realized that I need to get something out to other international teachers pronto! I'm so glad you love it here so much!!!

I appreciate this video. You've definitely visited places most people are too chicken to so respect. Myanmar made think it's like Venezuela of Asia but Buddhist culture seems to negate the desire to assault and rob people like I've had happen in Brazil and Colombia. I would like to travel there one day but the power outages are a big hinderance as I work remotely on my laptop. How many times a day do those 10 minute outages happen in the nicer apartments?

Hello friend. What a very insightful message. I lived in Chile before. Here is definitely not like Venezuela!!! Yes there is the money deflation but it is even safer than Vietnam. Here we don't have snatchers. Locals can experience more issues than foreigners. And yes the Buddhist culture does mean that even in hard times things are not like South America. I am a RU-vidr. It is annoying because it knocks out the power for 10 minutes. But we are on generator and inverter power so we are not without power. It is only the poor who are vulnerable. Middle class Burmese and foreigners we experience life with very little impacts. Power switches about every 4 hours between mains to generator in the condos like where I and many Burmese and foreigners live. At 9am, 13.00 and 17.00. Currently we also have a few more annoying in and outs because recently the heat wave was putting a lot of load on the grid. Now we are in rainy season so the power is more stable now. I think you will be waiting many years for here to be perfect so perhaps another country will be better for you.

Which is better place for teaching: South America, China, Yangon/Myanmar? How to find a non-teaching job in Yangon?
@MissLizaYangonMyanmar
@MissLizaYangonMyanmar 3 месяца назад
That is always a difficult question to answer. China used to be the place that paid the highest salaries. Then corona virus hit and I was lucky to escape being locked up in a camp. South America is like Europe where we barely make enough money to survive. Myanmar is on nobody's radar but after so long in China I fell in love with Asia and sort of became a bit Asian. When I went back to Europe when I escaped China I no longer fit in. So when Myanmar came up I was wanting to come back to Asia. But I saw all the hype news and was worried. But as I am E Europeean blood and International I knew that what the news media shows is not always the complete story. And I have been in love with Myanmar ever since. But I hope others comment reply to you as this is just one woman's oppinion.

To find a non teaching job I have no idea as a teacher. I know that there are a lot of Chinese here, Koreans and Japanese working in things like trade, commerce, entrepreneurship etc. I can't help you with that or visas etc as an International Teacher my school does everything for me. Also the rules are so unclear here that what I say now could be wrong in a few months time. You need to be able to have a mind that is like water and goes with the flow.

I hope this helps some of you if you are considering Myanmar as there are a lot of ads on Schrole for here. But when you search RU-vid for information on life here you can find nothing. Well that is how it was for me when I was in Albania deciding on my next contract. So I decided to make this channel to help others like me as I was sick of the rubbish information and sensationalism that was of no help in showing how things really are here for Internationals.
