So why does the thumbnail say "bankrupt" when the company didn't go bankrupt? Can you give honest thumbnails without shocked faces instead of the click bait stuff?
This is what people should learn, that if you earn a profit, doesn't mean you can quickly spend it on a new BMW or stupid stuff like that, often it was used to paying expenses, rent, wages, ads, utility and other operational cost, then after all of that was cut, you have to spend that remaining money to resupply some business owner even earn less than their minimum wage worker hire, even though they earn $200.000, it just get sliced brutally that by the time its end in your hand, it's already as thin as a salami but people always focus on those $200.000 and how those greedy pig owner taking all of the money from their poor workers. that the business owner must be going to Vacation everyday there are always a hidden complexity to everything, a lot of unexpected thing, that unless you ever did that yourself, you won't be able to appreciate the whole process
its nice that we can watch value contet like this you can even lern from Graham that ths story itself is good marketing as we follow this endavour and even How he show us add of other comapnies :)
This is a genius 10 minute commercial for a content creator’s product/business and should be studied and analyzed. Creators don’t realize social media platforms shouldn’t be their primary income but it should be used to promote their company or brand independent of the platform just like this. RU-vid realizes this also which is why they’re making it more seamless for creators to sell their products while still on youtube so they can get their cut as well and the same with tiktok. Its a win win for everyone
I think a series covering the business decisions and work actively being done in the business would be so cool and have the added benefit of serving as an ad and a reminder to your subscribers about the coffee!
As someone who's wanted to start a coffee company for the last few years but never got the nerve to pull the trigger, I appreciate this video so much. I'm in the planning phase of the business and this video was helpful. Thanks and good luck in your ventures Graham!
Don't......... People who buy RU-vidr coffee are sad pathetic people. Women drink Starbucks, men drink gas station coffee. Children order RU-vidr merch
@@jeromyjordan2956 No, ended up just working where I am. I'm actually just completing my real estate license next week. I'll give that a go and see what happens.
@DABlinxz congrats! I got my license as well. I only did it because I invest in real estate and thought it would be a good supplement to my business but it's just so different than the investor side, so I put it on the shelf. I wish you well in the real estate industry!
As a fellow business owner, I had to make the same decision recently myself. If you or your family need an eye doctor, especially with all the computer use, come to my optometry office in Vegas. Be more than happy to help you out!
Instead of raising prices our mans decided to keep prices at break even and get creative to keep the company vision of cheap coffee a reality. Thats dedication!
It's cool you still interact with fans in comments. It's rare for creators with as many subs as you have. Staying humble and appreciative of your audience is a great quality to have. Keep grinding dawg 👌
Never let that business go. In the worst case scenario you just pause this business, it's too good to fail. As long as it breaks even, or you can afford to take small losses on it, keep it going! In the end it's going to be a massive success, think long term always.
I appreciate when you are sharing from your succes and I appreciate you even more than you share from your failures. The learnings you just shared from this life and business lesson, is pure gold. Thanks for doing this 🙏
"Don't be afraid to raise prices." I see this mistake being made constantly in software (where employees cost the most and customers want everything for free). Not raising prices kills companies. Glad to see Graham accepting that this sometimes is unavoidable and it's usually not nearly as bad as you anticipate. Super valuable video!
Rest on veteran investor , i learnt so much from this uncle , long term investing and portfolio diversification was his game plans to mitigate financial risk.I'm still holding long term , looking out best options to diversify $100k reserve.
Charlie Munger is a veteran investor and a successful one in that , like the lives of Warren Buffet , Micheal Li and few more set an investing precedent, i suggest you get a FA to assist you in portfoli0 managment .
I agree with you. I started out with investing on my own, but I lost a lot of money. I was able to pull out about $200k after the 2020 crash. I invested the money using an analyst, and in seven months, I raked in almost $673,000
Big Credits to ''Monica Amanda McCluret'' she has a web presence, so you can simply search for, there are some others but it might be difficult to get them, but Sharon has been a good guide through the year.
After seeing your videos years ago, I decided to stop buying coffee shop coffee and found a really reliable espresso maker for $350 and now can recreate any drink from a shop and definitely helped save a ton of money.
Graham, you could also places ads onto your product coffee bags or even on the packaging material itself to offset expenses. Help other small businesses while helping yourself.
Thanks for sharing. I work at a bank and I hear young clients wanting to start a business which is great but they just have no idea on the time and effort you have to give. Also still waiting for a watch collection video.😉
2:00 you would think that the product that supposed to be focused on giving the customer the ability to supply coffee for themselves to make would not have to be so concerned about “the fancy box” the product is packaged in. if anything, the idea that if all the materials for packaging and delivery should be supplied in a way to save more money for the customer and the business, super meta
What you should do is embrace your persona of being a minimalist saver, and have your coffee portray that. What I mean by that is, your customers don't want coffee shipped in a really fancy box. They don't care for the small pieces of paper nestling their bag of coffee. Your audience enjoys saving money, and supporting you. If you can save the company money by removing a label, and keeping things minimalistic, that can be passed on to the customer. Have it almost comical how you dont care for the appearance or small details.
Wrong. If you wanted to save money you would buy cheap coffee from the grocery store and not pay to ship it to your doorstep. Or don't drink coffee at all and drink water instead.
I don't even drink coffee, and this commercial makes me wanna buy some, solely on the fact that you didn't raise prices, when the market was telling you to.
Super insightful, thank you for sharing your wisdom in what to do and what not to do, and being humble enough to talk about it makes it easy to like you Graham! Thank you for all your great content!
Hey Graham. I don't drink coffee but love your business. It's crazy how simple it can be to run a business. My finance teacher in college runs a puzzle company, and our final is to find the NPV, IRR and payback period. I don't know his actual profitability, but something as simple as selling puzzles can make you a lot of money, and once you get the company up and running, it doesn't take much effort to keep it running. Thanks for all the great content!
I'm in the same spot selling tshirts to our followers as we go. We do a ton of giveaways and sold for a few dollar profit to keep shipping cost down for people but then we made hoodies and it's a much bigger profit margin and I'm learning how to ship cost effectively now. We're on our way!
Mad respect for not only trying but sharing the lessons you've learned with your audience. People, as an MBA business owner, this is legit what it's like. Lot's of variables and market conditions to navigate, let alone customer sentiment (and these days, affordability, everyone's broke!) Owning a business is a grind (no pun intended there) and takes years to get going, which takes a lot of commitment, which means you need a mission to motivate you to keep pushing. I've only made it (so far) because I maintained a cheap standard of living for 15 years and also have two siblings who joined me as business partners (couldn't imagine going this alone, the mental toll is real.) Morning rant off, thanks again for posting!!!
I tried but you don't ship to Toronto, Canada. Too bad cause i would love to try some. Good work on your new business and thank you for sharing this information with the struggles you endured!
I buy a coffee subscription, and the prices went way up exactly the way you described. So if your competitors were doing it, you're justified to raise your own and still remain competitive.
Bro, keep the bags (coffee / accessories etc ) in the back ground of your videos. Simple and effective marketing that doesn’t even require u to pay attention to it
When I hear this, I think that people relate growth to succes while the actual succes is to have a good product and returning customers. I don't want to buy a product that is built for growth, it doesn't give me the idea it's build for quality.
We live, we learn 😁 not only about business but how we want to spend our time. It’s people like yourself though that actually try something new and learn something new👏 We’re always learning and adopting. Thank you for sharing 👍 you’ve got this!
Graham, could easily just insert a quick 10 second ad of Bankroll into his videos and cut IG ads and just focus on social media posts on his main channels for the coffee. He has a huge channel and following and having Bankroll coffee links in videos, artwork in the background, or even mentioning it a few seconds every video (no different than "hey graham its guy's here" or "smash the like button". He could even focus on just making monthly/quarterly videos on bankroll updates to continue to push the brand and sales forward. Ultimately even if Graham has to come to the realization that people buy bankroll because they're loyal subscribers and fans of the channel not because it's the "best" tasting coffee or cheapest option. So leverage yourself as the main reason it sells. Once you scale large enough you can focus on the other stuff.
What I try to tell myself in these aha moments ~ you're either winning or learning. You tested pricing and was able to pivot. Slow growth is not a failure if you remain profitable. These are GREAT lessons for any startup business. Thanks for sharing.
I started my first company after watching alot of your videos. I really like the videos about start ups who do extremely well. I've now been in business since June 10th have made 550k while reinvesting close to 95% of everything now am getting told i got a target on my back from the big dogs because all these customers are shifting towards me. Just wanted to say thanks your videos showing its possible and gave me my boost to start White Stone Fleet Services. I'm also in one of the low cost of living states!
Not sure why folks think they, without any prior knowledge of the coffee world, can create, brand, market, sale and transport coffee? I get coffee (six bags) in a cardboard box - no special wrapping, no individual boxes within boxes within boxes, no cushioning. Sometimes (tip for posters) restaurants sell their coffee. I recently tried the kind that First Watch used and it was spectacular - $8 / bag.
Can't blame you Graham. Some people shout hustle as hard as you can as if it won't take a toll on your body and mental, ultimately focus. Having multiple business requires a team, the bigger they are the bigger team is needed. I thought you would've learned after visiting and spending a day with Mr. Beast.
when you sell a commodity like coffee, you have to purchase protective futures, when the price of coffee rises the intrinsic value of the future contract compensates
Hey Graham, can you do a free shipping deal at some point??? I actually loved your coffee when it came out! I just hate paying for shipping lol. Especially since you can’t buy it in stores… yet 😉👍🏽🙌🏽
It really sounds like you just need to let someone run the business, and you just focus on mentoring the new ceo. Share some of that responsibility, growing together is sometimes a necessity with all your ventures.
You need to optimize a bit the landing page, remove the shop pay button, more images, real reviews, the font seems to not work that well, add the weight of the bag and probably a monthly subscription or weekly emails and campaigns. Good luck, can't wait to see the business grow
A 10 second promo on each of your videos would do wonders I think. Meet Kevin pops in with his deals all the time. Short and sweet. Keep it simple. Stay top of mind!
Which proves truth that was known in ages there are no such a thing as "passive income business". Investments - yeah, ok, right.... but business - no-uh.
Graham those stainless steel straws are pretty dangerous, I cut myself badly with one of those after tripping while taking a sip. I recommend adding silicone straw tips they are probably just another $1 avoid some trouble down the line.
I started my own coffee business, The Mister Brewer and in one year, I’m across Canada and parts of the states 10% of sales are going towards my local hospital
Ooh! I didn’t know about bankroll tea! I have to check this out. I’ve bought the coffee before and loved it, but now I’m on a tea kick. Hopefully you have a nice chai. You should look into selling frothers, coasters, travel mug/accessories too if you don’t already!
Great advertising. First a very catchy phrased topic description. It's easy if you have some spare money to spend and see how it goes. I bet you make some nice money with it.
