Got mine back in March & still having a blast on it every day. I wish it was a little faster on the top end, but it’s a riot being able to use the whole tachometer without accidentally going 150mph
That’s good to hear I’m glad you’re still enjoying it. Do you know if there’s an ECU flash or anything for it to give it a little more umph at the top end?
IT IS I’ve had mine for almost two years now if you want to start out on a smaller bike THIS is the perfect bike. It gets a lot of hate on the Internet but from my experience people in person seem to genuinely love this bike. I originally had it 400 before this bike I sold it less than a month later and bought the r7.
Yeah I think it gets a lot of hate because people want it to be an R6 so badly when it’s not, as soon as people get past that they’ll realize it’s an awesome bike. I’ve loved every second having mine hopefully you’re enjoying yours!
See you commenting on good summer gear. I wear a two piece dainese textile and mesh suit and ride everyday in Texas summer and never feel overwhelmed with how much air flow it gets
That’s awesome I’m excited for you to take it out forreal I think you’re gonna fall in love with it more than you already are! Are you gonna make any videos would love to hear how you like it after a bit.
Haha it’s a learning process, once you hop on it and kick the nerves you’ll get the hang of it quick. Good luck and let me know how it goes when you hit the streets!
Try bending your arms slightly, clench the tank with your legs and using your core to keep you upright, it will relieve the pressure on your wrists and you will feel the bike turns more easily as you aren’t fighting it. It will feel strange at first but you will get used to it and your confidence will grow in the corners as well.
Look up counter steering it’s super helpful and a game changer. I have the same bike and live up a curvy hill. You can drop it down a lot farther thank you think. Push down with some power for aggressive turns and maneuvering. And looking through your turns and where you want to go is super important because ur bike should feel as an extension of yourself just like how your legs know where to take you without thinking. Don’t look at anything you’re trying to avoid. If you’re about to miss a corner to fast and say you’re turning right you gotta completely turn your head in that direction and and not panic.
I’ve actually watched a couple videos on counter steering and they’ve helped understand quite a bit. The more I have been riding I get what you mean by the bike becoming an extension of your body as I think with more seat time it’ll only get better. Appreciate you sharing and hope you’re enjoying the R7 as much as I am. What all upgrades have you done so far?
Make sure you hug your bike with your legs and that most of your weight is held by your thighs. Don’t put your weight on your hands. It will hurt a lot and will make it much harder to steer. Also, try to hold the throttle with your pinky and thumb mainly. Good luck
Very good advice appreciate you sharing! I think one of the big things I need to get asap is tank grips as without them my thighs slide around quite a bit making it harder to stay in position but love the advice for the throttle will be doing that from now on!
I got mine a month ago and put 800 on it i love mine the worst part is longer rides just bc the aggressive sitting makes it uncomfortable after 20-30 minutes but other then that i love it
I agree the seating is very aggressive I get sore after a while too! Currently I got a EBay project SC full exhaust because it’s 1/4th price of the normal and still sounds really good.
@@LifeOnTwos ive recently got an alpinestars t sp x superair and it looks and feels great. really happy with it, runs about $200 and got it at my local cyclegear. definitely head there and try some on!
Learn about trail-braking. Stay on the ball (basically ur toes) of your inside foot and I usually put more weight on the outside footpeg while having the peg in between my boot heel. Idk if it’s gonna help I’m kinda new too but it helps me have more confidence in a turn. A RU-vidr called Motojitsu helped me a lot personally. Literally learned to ride from him 💀
That makes complete sense. That actually helps a lot I’m gonna check that out so appreciate you sharing! You also on an R7 or what you riding for your first bike?
@@LifeOnTwos I crashed my r3 last year due to my stupidity :/ but a friend is letting me ride her r3 for the summer. I plan on saving up and upgrading to a an r7 or an mt07. If I got a 600 my mother wouldn't sleep. I'm lucky enough to even be allowed to ride rn😅
I completely understand, the R7 is a very fun bike for newer riders and people looking for a step up from a 400, but coming from a bike like a zx6r it can feel like a downgrade. Curious what made you go from the zx6r to the R7?
