Looking for an honest review of Patong in Phuket, Thailand? Watch this video for my review about my overall experience in this popular Southern Thailand destination. Songkran was a blast but was it worth it down in Southern Thailand?

I enjoyed listening to your video. I will check back to watch the footage. So far the most northern point I’ve been to so far is Bangkok, mostly explored Thailand in the south. Wonderful country

I hope you make up to the Chiang Mai area, I think you will really enjoy it.

Hey brother…great content! I spent 3 days in Bangkok and 11 days in Jomtien Pattaya. Now in Chiang Rai…I’m also exploring to see where I’m most comfortable. Found cheap food in all 3 areas so far. Planning to look farther north into this area…I hear it’s even more cheap! Enjoy your journey brother, respect!

Thank you so much! I think it's pretty cool that you are experiencing so many different areas. I can attest that Chiang Mai, especially my area out here in Doi Saket has high quality affordable food. Keep living this life, it's amazing!

I'm with you when it comes to Northern Thai food & I love seafood. The North is more my pace as well. Affordable, friendly & chill.

Great stuff Fred,I think you should experience as much of Thailand as you can, the south is even sunnier and her islands particularly on the Andaman side are amazing, take your wife along and treat her😎✌🏿🥰

Just got back to CM after after a month in Samui. Last year it was a month in Kabi, the idea being you should plan to get away for some time in smoke season. I do love the seafood in the south but the variety of great dishes in the north is hard to beat.

I agree with getting away after spending time here during the smokey season. We are even considering spending some time in Vietnam.

If you’re still in Phuket I’d recommend going to Maybelle’s coffee garden just outside Kata Noi and meet Richie who has an excellent RU-vid channel called Richie and Maybelle. Great food and venue that’s beautiful

I watch the RU-vid Channel all the time, they look like a great couple. I had to leave for the airport and it conflicted with the time they were open. I will definitely catch it next time.

Hi Fred. Most areas like Patong are 2-3 times higher priced due to tourism and if like me you don't like overcrowding you don't go. I prefer the beaches of the Eastern most parts of Thailand. Trat and the islands off Trat are like old Thailand. The city of Trat is a timestamp in history where only thais' tend to visit. Yet it boasts magnificent open beaches beautiful oceans and lovely people. I would call Trat the chiang mai of Thai beaches due to its untouched nature and laid back kind thai people. And prices are more in keeping with chiang mai if you stay away from the few resorts that are here. Cheers. Allen

Hey Allen, Thank you so much for the tip on Trat. I will definitely look into that area when my wife and I head that way. I'm looking forward to seeing the authentic areas of the south.

Yes we prefer the North too. Lived 7 years in CM & loved most of it except maybe the smoky season 😉 Do not care for Phuket it is quite touristy + we are from the 50th State so 😅

I'm with you on the smokey season. Not only is it smokey but the heat can be unbearable at times. We will definitely be headed south next year. We have friends that stay in a small village outside of Hua Him we may be joining.
