I grew up as a toddler in Thailand in the mid to late 80s, things are very different now but I'll always have love for Thailand, it's people and it's rich culture. What a place.
My first ever visit to Thailand was a vacation in Surin Beach. Back then it looked different. Many good beach front restaurants but it was pricy. I would say it was more pricy than in Patong for sure. Nightlife almost no exiting back then but beach was beautiful for sure. After years of traveling to Thailand I stayed in Patong, Kamala and Kata as well buy Surin beach is my favorite place.
Kamala quickly became my favourite spot in Phuket after I stayed at the Novotel there a couppe years ago. Had been to phuket 5 times and had only ever stayed in Patong or Rawai. Would go straight back to Kamala after my last stay. Beautiful spot.
Good video and it got me watching your channel again. I'm glad you got out of Patong, I really don't like it either. I can't stand being hassled in the street by merchants and hard time men. I always stay at Kata beach when I go to Thailand. Good on you for warning folks to be careful on bikes. I am currently badly injured from a head-on with my bike (RE Himalayan) 411 and a 1993 Holden Rodeo ute so ride safe people as it's no fun not being able to walk.
So true Keis there is so much more to Phuket than just patong the surrounding beaches are amazing and same with the other side, Mai khad beach, Rawai beach for some great seafood. Kaneang pier if you really want a different change. I still love patong however the Island is just amazing. Yes if you hire a bike please be careful. Great vlog keis, stay safe mate
Those Elephants have been tortured to behave like that! Stay away from them nasty money making tricks! If nobody paid to see them, they would be left alone in the jungle!
@@jomontanee I spent a whole day 5am-5pm at Tiger Temple with an Aussie working there. They aren’t drugged, like all cats they play in the mornings and eat and are then very tired and sleep and rest all afternoon , the same time as the tours start. When I was there the Tigers were very active in the early morning and after they ate, they slept in the shade
@@jomontanee After living in Thailand for for 37 years I did get a feel for the place! You think the baby Elephants just walked away from the heard to join the circus ?
Great that you started showing the nicer places in Phuket mate. My favourite beaches are Nai Harn and Kata beach in the south but all beaches away from Patong are great.
I once stayed in Patoong and while it was good, it was a little too touristy, much like a Kuta vibe. Went around to Karon and it was perfect. Way more chilled.
Surin was the first beach in Thailand I went to, back in 2013. There used to be several beach clubs and restaurants but the Thai army knocked them down (I think in 2014) because they didn't have permits. It looked a bit of mess for a while with rubble everywhere but from your video it looks like things have worked out for the better now.
Phuket so beautiful island 😲🥹😊🤙❤️🏝🏖🌴 And this year, a well-known American travel magazine named Phuket as the best island in Asia. and top of the world In second place is Samui island.
Interesting views.I have been coming to Thailand for over 25 years.compared to most places in the world it’s still very good value.if your young most always have a smaller budget so I guess save a little more cash before you come and you will enjoy the delights of the fabulous land of smiles. One thing that the Thai government is now doing is to try to avoid the cheap package and backpacking tourists for the very reason they hardly spend anything and since covid Thailand needs to seriously recover.great to watch your journey.
Great video. I wish u took the time to learn Thai ❤ i believe that would be a game changer for your channel. Cuz I know u are a hardworker! U did learn korean, i been watching since those videos 😅 so why not Thai? Seems like your channel is staggering, i wish your channel all success Adam 🙏🙏🙏 would be rly fun seeing u interact with locals, white boy farang 😅😂 all the best mate 🙏❤
Patong is a tourist trap so much more to see in Phuket. I just seen on TNT news tim said that phuket has had over 500 forienger motor bike accidents in the last two months. so ride safe.
First visited Phuket in 1992 and the beaches were crystal clean and beautiful. Even after lots of development they are still pretty nice today but I think they could do a better job keeping them clean. On my last visit I did not see many people picking up trash and there always seems to be a lack of bins. You would think keeping them clean would be their top priority. I will add that I went to Bali recently and found the beaches to be really dirty so hoping this does not happen to Thailand. What did you observe and what are your thoughts on this? Cheers!
Hey man hope that elephant sanctuary has improved its animal welfare since 2018. I went running up to out there one early morning from patong to there. Elephant handlers were waking up the elephants for work. Get this - by whacking them on the heads with hammers! Fired me up a fair bit! About 5 minutes later a couple of drunk Russians skidded out on scooters around one of those ever-repeating curves and one ended clipping me on the shin. I pulled him out of a sewer ditch and he thanked me by taking a swing. Adrenaline took over and I gave him a meaty upper cut that his beer belly could not handle. Seconds later Thai cops arrived and we all copped fines for public violence. Freakin’ Crumps!
Phuket has several famous water parks and a festival section for night shows. And there are many famous department stores such as Jungceylon mall, Central fesival mall, King Power mall , in the future is Blueport mall.
Great clip buddy what location is this I am coming to Thailand solo travel 15th match for 9 weeks Bangkok pattaya krabi Phuket then koh phangan are they places I plan to visits. How to you get the beach snaps look great 👍🏻 😅
Sup dude, random message but go do a cholesterol test. I spent 3 years in Thailand eating exactly like you are doing and my LDL (bad cholesterol) sky rocketed like crazy up to dangerously high levels. Coconut milk used in Thai food is one of the culprits...
In Phuket now also and been coming since 88' have lived here too but man the place is too crowded now. Still good fun and great beaches but I will be only doing the low season in future. Cool vid mate
Next time your in phuket PLEASE visit nans bar in karon. Its just across phuket orchid resort! I was there 2 weeks ago and i miss it already. Super nice girls and great music!
I was there its an really nice Elephant Sanctuary we where swimming, walking, feeding the Elephants and on the end we cooked with the ohter ppl Pad Thai together and ate :)
Yeah phuket has the best easy access beaches, you can get cheaper food i have a friend that has a little hotel in Kata and she cooks, its right in the market and its not expensive, all the main tourist restaurants are expensive, have a great time there mate 👍👍🙏🙏
I have been to Phuket, and Thailand for my first time in November. I was there for a month, booked a week in Old Town, week in Patong and 2 weeks in Surin. Patong is just worst place in Phuket imo. The prices are very high, it looks very dirty comparing to other places. After living for 2 days in Patong, i left over to Karon, i could not stand the Patong. I have driven through all island, and i loved Karon/Kata the most.
Phuket and Pattaya are two very different parts of Thailand. Population wise Pattaya is at least twice the size of Phuket. Pattaya is also much closer to Bangkok and gets a lot of Bangkok tourists on weekends and holidays which brings in much more money for the local Pattaya economy. As was mentioned Phuket gets a lot of families and at the moment is getting a flood of Russians and their families which is undoubtedly helping the Phuket economy. Both Phuket and Pattaya not to mention Bangkok are great places to visit and offer different aspects of Thai business and tourism.
From people in your room? Just be careful who you bring.. put it in a safe if you can, be careful inviting strangers to your room, the hotels usually ask girls for ID when they come, so that’s good for security for you.
I don't think you can call a place at the side of the road an elephant sanctuary, it looks like the elephants are been used to make money not that there welfare is the main concern. Please stop promoting these types of establishments. Alot of cruelty goes on behind the scenes.
patong is so boring, after living there some months get so boring, same bar girls, no thai, no thai food, crazy people driving without helmet, getting crazy expensive..flights now 8000 bahts to bangkok, crazy
Spent 3 months in Phuket and couldnt wait to get out lol Its good cause is still Thailand and is better than Uk or Europe but... Phuket is the worst part of Thailand with no culture and no local spots anymore. Even places we call local places in Phuket are not local at all 🫣
Hi Keis.. the vpn looks like a false information.. "your" offer links to the regular price.. so its not a special discount.. its just the same like the regular... i tried your link and on a different browser in privat mode the regular website.. Same discount with same repeating value for the next 24 month.. so hope you are happy that they pay you ;)
Another great vid mate . I use to hire a Mopehead all the time but i hear they are cracking down on unlicenced . Do you recommend we get a licence in our own country first .Have you your bike lincence in Aus?
Good vid mate, we been to Thailand a few times, your right, get out of Patong, we are going over again (from NZ) at the end of March, going to Bangkok, Koh Samui and Hua Hin, first time to KS and HH, might hire a bike in Koh Samui (maybe safer). thanks for the code for Surfshark, will definitely sign up when we go, cheers Keis
I have to agree with you..Bangla Rd and Patong can be a bit much (noisy) and costly (girls). I did stay on Kata Beach at Two Chef's Inn ($30 on Agoda app) and loved it. Getting out of Patong, seeing old Town, Nai Harn Beach, Longtail boats off of Rawai Beach...if you get yourself stuck on Bangla Rd and the like, it can be costly. My nephew (an experienced Thailand traveler) was there a few months ago, said he felt like everyone was tryna jack you on prices. Hey ! They've been lonely these past few years, can't really blame them. I say buy em a beer, and make new friends 🤘😘🌬🌬➡️
My friend owns 2 hotels in Phuket. He asked me to send a couple of Russian flags which he couldnt find there. I asked him why and he said both hotels were full of only Russians. I guess it is the new Black Sea for Russians.
I ride all around thialand but not in phuket it's just too dangerous to many different nationalities riding around a little lost and a lot drunk....not a good combination I'm in the North East of the country and its 😍 careful kiess we don't wanna lose ya
Im so happy that I have stated to get used to skip famous beaches in my travels. For people looking for true feeling or other types of feelings Id say: TRY TO SKIP BEACHES in your travels. Youd have an eye opener...I understand it can add value with a beach. But make it a challenge. I sound so stuck up I know but Thailand is overrated....it is so accessible so you wont get any type of real thrills. Im going to real places but wont mention them Sorry 🤣🤣🤣🤣
so many road/bike accidents because people with little or NO riding experience riding motorbikes of any size they want and thinking they don't need to think while they ride... or worse, drinking a few beers and thinking its still ok to ride... stupidity and inexperience causes most of those accidents!!
