It’s a crime that we didn’t get either Wuhu Island track, Toad’s Factory, Shy Guy Beach, Airship Fortress, Luigi’s Mansion, Wario Colosseum, or the last 3 Rainbow Roads. Especially since there is only one beach track (LA Laps, Piranha Plant Cove, and Animal Crossing don’t count).

Come back for the next Mario Kart. Wii has so many good tracks left to slap in there. Many of which you just listed. I think aside from Super Corcuit Rainbow Road, we should expect Wii and 7 to get some real love in the next title. Crossing my fingers for 48 tracks to be the new series standard but I will not complain if we go back to the 32 standard that DS set.
I really dont think it was because of variety. There are 5 rainbow roads, and so many Mario Circuits. We already had a Nighttime Ice Track in the base game, we had Sweet Sweet Canyon when Sky High Sundae got added. I think it was probably because of some aspects of the track being hard to incorporate, like the cobwebs and moving pipe
To be fair, Rainbow Roads have a legendary reputation and kinda operate on their own rules. They could’ve honestly given us one more and it still wouldn’t have felt like overkill. Personally would’ve liked to see Double Dash’s Rainbow Road return. But even with that, each Rainbow Road is still somehow visually distinct. Like I can tell which one I’m looking at from the track texture alone. The 4 Mario Circuits are more egregious, especially since most Circuit tracks look and feel similar, but even then they were spread out pretty wide. Meanwhile if we’d gotten PPP, it would’ve been in the same wave as Piranha Plant Cove. Plus I straight up do not buy that the mobile game could make something work that wouldn’t have flown in 8 Deluxe. Nah, I think they just realized it’d feel like overkill and decided it could just be in a future game, instead.
@@ugxsan Well Piranha Plant Pipeline is VERY different from Cove and even Slide, and isn't even named Piranha Plant Pipeline in Japan, it's called Pipe Canyon. What exactly is it overkilling?
I think it was 100% just for shock factor. Why would you add every Tour track if you could leave 1 out? I think they just wanted to shock people who "had the BCP all planned out" without thinking it through. Plus, they coded pinballs, walking Wigglers, fire piranha, ptooies, and even fuzzies but they could code cobwebs and a moving pipe?
Not a good excuse since it wouldn't be the first time we'd have multiple tracks of the same theme anyway, such as Wuhu Loop and Maka Wuhu in 7 or mushroom bridge and mushroom city in double dash.

so bro is saying we need more variety when we have 5 rainbow roads and 5 mario circuit Thats 10/96 tracks or 10.417% percent of tracks made up of just 2 themes (which doesnt sound like alot now im thinking about it)
For Wave 6, it was originally supposed to have two original circuits, according to the game datamine that leaked when Wave 1 came out. However, two spaces (that of the original circuit and another that was from GCN) were replaced by Wii Daisy Circuit and 3DS Rosalina Glacier.
