The other 3 didn't know they were letting a snake in, when they welcomed (robbin') Robyn into their stable happy family. She planned all along to replace Meri as the real wife. I think Janelle spotted this early on.
The three wives were content with things and used to how things were before Robyn.. they were all together almost from the start, then 16 years later, a new young, skinny wife. Yeah that was the start of the downward spiral we have seen play out throughout the seasons

LaZainabou I think it had to do with having health insurance for those kids, once they were adopted. It had to do with Health Insurance which he had to adopt them first.
Janet Blanck he had to adopt her kids in order to get health insurance for them, hence getting married first. Now being the 4th wife does not show that you are married so Mary divorced him, she married him and consequently, he was able to adopt them and get insurance for them. Otherwise, those 3 kids that Robin had could not get on his health insurance roster like the rest of the kids. Not sure how that worked over the years with having kids with the 2nd and 3rd wife. So complicated.
Sue Bean I doubt insurance was the reason, since I bet you they were on access... except Janell’s kids as she worked for a real estate company. But I am sure that robin got SSI for her eldest son and access for the others.

Around some years back, they were at In-and-Out in Las Vegas, i saw them and observed them. They were definitely into each other, they wanted this for a long time you could see, so when I approached them, congratulated on their marriage and I watched their show, they acted surprised anyone knew who they were as if the world was something they had to share with everyone. I knew right then and there the rumors were true. He pressed Meri for a divorce so he could have Robyn to himself legally, her kids was an afterthought, trust me.
You are right. His spending time with his "wives" in turn (mainly for sex) proves that he is a considerate man. He "respects" women as long as they can be sexually useful to him. He didn't divorce his first wife for the other 2. I like your sentence: " so he could have Robyn to himself legally". The use of "have" and "himself" sums up his personality perfectly. They are objects that he owns and then throws when he gets tired of them and he only thinks about himself, certainly not his kids.

Plus, most of the men are considerably younger, than me! AND yes, that is a recent pic from last June. I am not bragging. Looking back, Robyn was very astute in her "grooming" of Meri to ultimately take her place as Kody's only legal wife. Becoming her BFF, confiding in her, giving her special gifts on holidays, offering her uterus to give Meri another shot at motherhood. Well played, well played. Now during the pandemic, she would rather pay a nanny to take care of her kids than allow Meri to see them.
