They love to misunderstand people but don't want to be misunderstood. Their self-awareness to move into educating people about themselves is also a source of supply. So I agree with your perspective on this.
I tell people about myself so they won't think I'm a dkuche bag. If they understand why I am the way I am maybe they can forgive me and then maybe they'll forgive themselves when they begin to recognize their own toxicities. This is my reasoning. also helps me understand myself more . Autistic people do the same thing. .

I see what you are saying about telling others how you are. However, does that not also give you a foothold to hurt people more? And does it not give you supply when they consistently forgive the ways in which you've made them lose their minds? I'm happy to hear you have people around you who accept you. We all deserve to belong. At the same point, please very carefully consider the types of behaviors that are hurting those around. Ask yourself if they deserve that toxicity you speak of. I'm not saying isolate yourself, but do check yourself for your people. Be safe.
Wrong. Narcissists are the most powerful empaths. We are so sensitive that we've needed to totally close our hearts to protect ourselves from the pain of societal trauma.
A self-aware narcissist is the most dangerous because they are aware of what you want and need. They can fool you into thinking they are reciprocal in a relationship. However, as you said, they use people and are all about themselves. They have nothing of value to offer anyone.

As a self-aware narcissist I can confirm this is false, we as humans all reason from a place of ego and selfishness, the narcissist has these qualities amplified which are evident from our unhealthy coping mechanisms. However, there are people who do want to become better and not hurt others, therefore I truly despise all who demonize any and everyone suffering from a personality disorder. This video is what I consider biased and unfounded junk geared to make narcs seem inhumane and hopeless, in a way that makes it harder for us to begin therapy. No one ever ask WHY narcs act so superior, well, because we feel internal insufficiency, and the remedy to feeling that way surely is founded on self-acceptance and love, right? So stop generalizing and condemning narcs, especially those who are self-aware because we like all humans deserve to want to change and live happy lives with healthy relationships.

@@MrBurkistanthe problem is you know you hurt someone until they perhaps become suicidal, you HURT the one who loves you, betray the one who trusts you, you always use someone when they fully trust you. That mentality, i cannot accept as something, “it’s not my fault.. come onnn” from my experience, a narc nature is being evil, and always takes something for granted, whenever there is chance. so when they try to be the bare minimum, not lie, not cheat, not manipulate, It feels like trying so hard for them. In my experience dealing with them, if they want to change, it will drain them, they will feels like living in hell.

Thanks for this video..... I've always been careful of listening to self aware narcissists. Coz I always feel they might bend the truth at some point and secondly how can a disordered person coach a normal person into healing. When they don't know what being normal feels like.
As a self aware narcissist I have to say he is very right. Though its not always about themselves. Sometimes I just help other people because I like like seeing them happy. That's probably because I can not be happy myself which is a narcissists nr 1# problem. So as a narc you can either try to find a little happiness by helping others or by hurting others. I'm lucky that I have an understanding husband who helps me through episodes and accepts me for who I am and sees my good side. He's the only one who ever saw good in me and I choose to never hurt him in return. And i chose to love bomb him always and never stop doing that. It annoys him lol we have 3 children and theyre all wonderful. I hope they never become narcissistic so they have a chance to experience true happyness
What about a self aware narcissist who has been in therapy and really trying to work on themselves? I know it’s rare but surely there had to be a few who really try to better themselves…maybe like 1 percent
A leopard does not change its spots. I highly suspect that narcissists are hard wired to be as they are; they cannot change or get better. No therapy will cure them. I also believe that labeling narcissists as personality disordered is deceiving as it implies that they can be helped or cured which has not been proven.

This is discrimination. I am a self aware narcissist, in recovery. I was severely abused as a child. This is what Truama made of me. I closed my heart to protect myself and that is why I am a narcissist now. But I can reverse the damage. I know it can be done. It would be alot easier if I felt supported in my mission to heal. I do wonder about this. I remember being way more narcissistic as a teenager and young adult but I knew my feelings where wrong and got help. I have understood from dr ramani that narcissist who where overpraised as children cannot be helped. But narcissist who came from trauma can become somewhat aware and benefit from therapy.
Sometimes it's like they have some sort of duping delight about bragging out they are narcissists. Saying imperative actions for all the people to be less empathetic like them to pass over the narcisistic abuse and also the narcissist and sometimes I agree but not in all the cases, cause even understanding that I need to take care of my well being first, I don't always agree to in all the times, shut down my empathy on the risk of becoming like them.
Yeah i messaged a guy from high school that i bullied back then and told him he was on my mind and that he didn't deserve that. Told him i was sorry and thought....am I doing this for him or doing this for me?

Like They're making You Tube videos and educating peoples about narcissistic patterns / cycle ( love bombing, devaluing and discard) with their personal experiences and behaviorial patterns.
From another perspective; the general public is being educated regarding narcissism so they have been exposed. Per a narcissist's method of operation, they are now twisting things to their benefit by claiming to be aware and attempting to change and reign themselves in when nothing could be further from the truth.
I am aware that all the good my husband does is to feed his ego. He is adding the notches to his belt so he get into heaven and get the greatest praise. His mother is the same way.

They all know they are self aware they aren't pretending. It's just that it's a behavior not anything medical they have to be diagnosed with like they weren't aware until they were diagnosed 🙄. They were aware before then. It's a lame attempt to put themselves in the victim I can't help myself role because it's medical lol but they are seeking therapy 🙄 and helping people so they can be seen as the good narcissist and gain supply. Their true intentions are to help themselves gain supply because some of the stuff they are telling people is helping people with their narcissist they are dealing with in their lives and gaining the narcissist that is deemed good and helping praise and adoration from people which is supply.
People have to use their brain and collect good info for their own awareness. Not becoming a fan of a narcissist thinking they are changed, also it’s good to acknowledge the one that are trying even though they are who they are.
Listen to your own voice. If your unhappy with yourself and you really want to learn to have empathy and have changed behavior you can achieve this with hard and sacrificial effort. Self aware is only the beginning and i do believe there exists real and true changed people. There may not be a lot but they are out there!
Saw a self aware narcissist admit that they love to do videos because they get hella-hits on Twitter a little bit ago. 😅 It really is about them getting admiration and validation from all the love comments. I still appreciate the content but now I know that it is for sure all a soapbox to preach against other non-aware narcissists.

No one cares about you at the end of the day I’ve learned regardless of what I do for people my issues always come past . So I take care of number 1 cause at the end of the day I’m all I got .

Self aware narcissists are trying to change themselves I don't see a problem with that. people need to stop projecting their trauma on other people it's toxic. If you think these people are subhuman or demons that doesn't give you any moral high ground. My father is a narcissist, me and my mother were abused by him heavily I ended up developing Borderline personality disorder. It's helped me understand people with NPD since we our disorders are within the same cluster and have the same underlying pathology. So I understand why they do what they do. Alot of them were not given the emotional support and love they needed as a child and grew up feeling worthless and empty. Everything they do is to mask their pain. I don't expect people to empathize with them or even like them because they can be very abusive and there's no excuse for that. I just wish people wouldn't consider these people unfixable subhumans. My friend is self aware about his NPD and he's very sweet. He's not perfect far from it when he's vulnerable though you can tell he was scared and damaged little boy at his core.
I dunno. I think the same could be said about people in general. Any person who treats people well or does charitable acts or whatever, does so because it makes them feel good or like a good person. Someone might identify as a trustworthy or compassionate individual. Well, to establish that as a part of ones identity, one must act the part. If not to convince others then to convince themselves. That still equals a need for validation. Empathy is defined as the ability to understand and share the feelings of another. When you see suffering, you imagine yourself in that situation. Its painful and you want to alleviate that pain in your heart. You do so by helping. I guess theres different types of selfishness. For good or for bad. My comment isnt to defend narcissists. Its not even about them, really. Just about people.
Blind person cannot see but can learn to sense the reality by other working senses. I understand that many people have been deeply hurt by narcissistic person, but what you are saying is totally unfair. Narc are victims of childhood trauma and (as latest researches shown) has brain malfunction that make them to act like that. But speaking for myself it's kinda automatic behaviour - all that bad behaviour. And some of us (speaking either for myself) do want to change. Because we are aware of the problems that we cause. But that awareness comes verry late, because some of our brain parts doesn't work properly. It's the same way when you are colorblind, U are not aware of it untill U go through the situation that expose your colorblindness. So please don't call us demons or devils. We are also human beings.
