This is hard on my heart, as I deeply miss my grandmother. She passed Jan 5, 2023. This has me in complete tears because I dont want to upset God by talking to my grandmother instead of Him. My heart is still broken from her passing, its not because I had a long relationship with her. Its still broken because I had only 5 months with her. Her last 5 months of life, God put us together after never having a relationship. She was 101 yrs old and me, 50. I did not have enough earthly time with her. She drove to workout 2 times a week up until the last 30 days of her life. I have deep pain from not finding her years sooner. 💔 thank you for this discussion.❤

You're being unnecessarily hard on yourself. G-d doesn't expect us to exclusively talk to Him when we're awake. Or does He? G-d gave us family and friends, even strangers, as His support system for us. Maybe it's happened to you that someone tells you something you need to hear at the right time. That's one of G-d's messengers. Sometimes people say to Rabbi Friedman that it's just what they needed to hear. Perhaps I'm being one for you now, which would be nice. You spoke to your grandmother when she was here, didn't you? Five months longer than you thought you would. Sad that it was only five months. Joyous that it was. She was your messenger from G-d. Let her continue to be. We don't speak to only G-d every day, do we? It would be a quiet planet if we did. Or everyone would constantly be in prayer. Let yourself heal from your loss by continuing to have a relationship with your grandmother. It's a beautiful thing.

As a Roman Catholic in the Latin tradition coming from novo's ordo Mass read the Bible trying to live righteously all the time, still baffled by the whole equation of life and death, the whole thing still persevering with the understanding that I have, still worried will it be to late before we find out the truth thanks,

There's no hourglass that will run out of sand for our learning. This learning is the truth. Whether you prefer to think it's in the teachings of your church is up to you. This isn't Judaism being taught. It's G-d who has no religion. Jews don't worry about living righteously. That's an ultimate standard reserved for select people that G-d chose to be among us to teach us more. And to help guide us to do what G-d needs us to do to perfect this world for Him. If we all live by the 7 Noahide Laws with their intricacies, if we ficus on others instead of ourselves, and with the golden rule not to hurt others, G-d would be pleased. We're doing what He needs. Our - His - world is being perfected.

I love this conversation between a father and the son❤. What a lovely souls❤. Also it's interesting that both are learning together and about others. Also helping others in their journey. Even I can feel the love and respect between them. We are like the 5 blind people trying to explain an elephant while trying to explain what they have understood about the elephant 😂. Because it's beyond the ir knowledge and experience. Just like science and theology. Those are two methods from our knowledge and experience. Trying to explain G-d with those makes us blind. There are other methods too🙂. But I am happy, that even elephant don't know itself 'what it is'😂. Because it's learning from its experience and knowledge. It's a continuous journey, because it's infinite 🙂. Let's know each other and everything, little by little as we can. Because it's fun 😊. Let's help and support others and move together. It makes the journey easy 🙏

@@mackyer3690 that's a shame. G-d doesn't want us to be terrified. What's coming is great and wonderful. The coming of Moshiach when our world will be almost perfected. The Third Temple will be built. Then the Redemption and being joined here by the G-dly Essence. That's all awesome. Until then more darkness is being revealed so that we can dispel it with more light, more goodness. That's also wonderful. Perfecting G-d's world here for Him. Things are getting better all the time.

We don't share the same atoms. That's not possible if you understand atoms scientifically. The righteous are few and far between since it's a standard most can't live up to. Righteous people don't think they're righteous. They strive daily to be more G-dly, doing what G-d needs them to do to perfect His world. They don't strive to be more righteous. That would be self serving not G-d serving.

@Y1836Y
@Y1836Y 6 месяцев назад
There are no versions of the Torah like xians have. The Tirahnus either in Hebrew, in English. Or in both. Chumash, which have interpretative teachings of the text, have versions. Ashkenazi, Sephardic, Chabad, etc. Anything named our bible isn't the Torah correctly translated. Torah means teaching, guidance, etc. The word bible means books, refering to scriptures of religion. The Torah is G-d, not religion.
@Y1836Y
@Y1836Y 6 месяцев назад
So that you understand the words and aren't misled I will share more. The Stone edition is a Chumash not a Tanakh specifiically. Tanakh is composed of 24 books. Torah (the law), Nevi'im (the prophets), and the Ketuvim (the writings). That's it. A Chumash has the Five Books, read weekly on a schedule, cover to cover, with the coordinating reading from Tanakh. There is also guidance as to the meaning of words, context for the time and other teaching. All of Tanakh is not included in a Chumash. Each has its purpose. Enjoy learning.

Thank you Rabbi There’s a few minor points that I believe need clarifying, the idea that when a person dies and there souls then go through the process of moving on clashes with the concept of “Adonai echad””God is one” I believe the moving on is the melding of this so thought of individual into an amalgamation of everything in existence which includes those living and those not, in truth the amalgamation is far more than that , but like you say somethings we might never realise because one can only realise in reflection when one is apart from the one amalgamation .and to realise the highest cannot be seen in this reflection . Which brings me to another point which is ,when the rabbi mentioned about god wanting us doing. Again this makes no sense, I’m not looking to create some discomfort in this statement, but consider this carefully. The word doing is meaning an action taken towards a prescribed result. Yet in gods ultimate reality which we are a part of the result is already experienced irrespective of when the doing gets done or how. But seems to be preached as being urgent, is this not just mankind’s limited persuasion by means of words that says you HAVE to do what I say which ultimately leads to a rejection until one’s experience of and with god catches up or at least the realisation of this occurs.

You draw your own conclusions. That's not at all what the rabbi teaches that G-d wantscand needs from us. Consider this, why does G-d send us out of heaven to experience all kinds of pain suffering, pleasure, joy and more? Only to send us back to heaven the worse for wear?

@@Christopherurich33all mitzvahs are found in the Torah. There are 613 total, for Jews to follow. There are 248 positive mitzvahs telling us what to do and 365 negative mitzvahs telling us what not to do. Rabbi Taub has videos daily, except for the sabbath, about them should you want to know. He doesn't say them in order though. One of Rabbi Friedman's sons, Rabbi Benny Friedman, also has videos, besides those with his singing, about the mitzvahs. There are books that discuss them also.

There is a story that is true about a rich selfish man and a poor beggar. The rich man dies and goes to hell, the poor man goes to Abraham's bosom. The rich man is tormented and looks up to see the beggar. He cries out to Abraham to send the the beggar with a drop of water on his finger to cool his burning lips. Abraham answers and says, this can not be done because there is a chasm between us, so one cannot pass from one to the other. The beggar is at rest and the rich man is aware. It is a true story and I believe it.

only question for you. my friend David is a hermaphodite and his mom was always judging "him" telling him not to be gay or do gay acts and always hating on him instead of just loving. She passed a few years ago; so is she still hating on him? I would hope they be more empathic. Also, David is the most giving person I know. I am sure God is proud. I personally trhinks he gives too much and constantly gets used and hurt.

That's a sad story you've shared. His mom felt guilty for his physicality which she expressed in a hostile way. Has she learned differently in heaven? We can only hope so. Since noone has been there and back to share, we don't know all about it. G-d doesn't want us to or we would.

I pray that your friend seeks or has sought help to learn how to deal with his uniqueness. Being a person who emulates goodness doesn't mean we don't have pain. Even that caused by family or friends. I'm sure your friendship means a lot to him. A mitzvah, a good deed. Judaism isn't a religion. It's a relationship with G-d. G-d never said to have a religion. You could both agree on that.
