I live in South Korea and Suga’s incident was on the news for several minutes. Though it was a bad situation the fact that he admitted to it and took responsibility and did not try to justify it proves that he is a man of character. I wonder if something is driving him to drink more? I hope he's not having a bout of depression and that's why this situation happened. Being a Pisces myself, (Mar. 8) I know how deep in our feelings we get, and how easily tempting it is to overindulge in the drink or other substances. It actually hurts my heart, too. I just hope he's doing okay with fulfilling his duties and it hasn't been too hard on him. I only hope the best for him and that he'll find some peace from this fiasco.

I do not want to minimise the incident because drunk driving is extremely dangerous but I also believe that mayor mistakes with big scares and no permanent consequences (like death) are the best way to learn lessons. I'd bet my right hand that after this Yoongi will NEVER EVER drink again while driving (might even stop drinking for a while). We are all lucky because nobody was hurt and no physical damage happened. He has owned the incident, he is paying the consequences and we can all move on and do better in the future.

🚨It isn’t even a proper scooter that looks like this 🛵. In actuality, it’s a scooter that looks literally like this 🛴, but has a seat & is motorized! Something some pre-teens might even ride. 🛴 Suga wasn’t even aware that one wasn’t allowed to ride one when intoxicated, since laws aren’t specific, at least to his knowledge til now! Suga was even wearing a helmet! Reason why he rode it, was because he drank so close to his home, and furthermore was caught “assisted” while parking & getting off the scooter when he was already home! A policeman, saw him fall, came to assist and smelled alcohol on his breath, so he took breathalyzer and it turned out high! So Suga now has his driver’s license suspended, for I believe a year. At least now he, and I’m sure others in S. Korea will now know that the law even applies to scooters such as this 🛴 that are motorized. At least no one was hurt, plus since he was off duty, had a day off from the military, so it won’t reflect on his military service. 👍🙏🥹🥰☺️😉🛴😔
Good point on how he and many are now aware of this part of the law because I have a strong feeling many in SK didn't know that riding a scooter while intoxicated i part of this law. So instead of castigating him, Knetz and Kmedia should use this story to educate. Yoogi sounds like he learned his lesson and thankfully didn't hurt himself or others.

I live in nashville and people hop on those scooters drinking all the time. Maybe I'm desensitized, but he didn't get behind the wheel of a car. I applaud that. I, as an American think a lot of Korean laws are a bit extreme and they are looked at more than others. But he's human and accepted his punishment and apologized, so for me, it's done. Suga, you good in my book boo.
From Suga's statement it kind of sounded like he didn't know it was against the law to ride the scooter while drunk, that's probably why he took it to the restaurant instead of a car, plus he said his house pretty close too. And unfortunately this was a tough way to learn that law. But people are literally acting like he committed a major crime like causing an accident or hurt numerous people. I hope can move past this, and if he does have any issues with drinking or his mental health that he gets the help he may need.
@@crystalsnow1138 yup a lot of koreans who speak English fluently are saying the laws are changed to be more strict almost weekly at least monthly so it's been difficult for the public to even all be aware of the laws changing and that the electric scooters are very new for transportation like within the last 3 or 4 years reg children's scooter always existed but the electric ones there's so many new variations of them with different rules and laws some not having laws because of how simplistic it is and similar to a regular children's scooter while others go from least dangerous to similar to a motorcycle etc the one yoongi used is way below the one close to a motorcycle and because of the changes to laws in general its understandable he doesn't know about the laws. dui laws keeps changing and if you're not glued to wherever they're announced you can miss the updates or just forget as it's a new change and you briefly read it. also in korea they have laws where it's in place but isnt enforced similar in the states we have a no Jay walking law which means you're not allowed to cross outside a cross walk or while traffic is coming but I live in NYC and no one follows that law I grew up breaking that law since I was 10 and allowed to cross on my own. in specific states it us enforced and people get arrested which is wild to me. so maybe there's laws like that in korea where it's not expressed as serious and overlooked until caught. in a way if everything keeps working in sugas favor then this would be a good thing for others to learn other celebrities the other members their families their friends even foreigners who live or are visiting korea will now know they can get in trouble if they do this. I hear the fine is 10 000 dollars which is nothing for yoongi however for a regular citizen or foreigner that can be detrimental to their finances so now they know not to drive a scooter while drunk. Can I just say a big FU to the people demanding Suga be put in jail or kicked out of BTS for this. Let the law handle this situation. Well said. Some K-netizens called him out of BTS, called him a criminal which should disappear, they want him cancelled...the amount of hatred that came out of their mouths is unbelievable. What is so odd to me as an international fan is how their in their culture there is a lot of drinking a lot - especially with work - and you know tons of others do something similar, but they seem to have no tolerance for idols making any kind of mistake no matter how small. This may be an unpopular opinion but pls hear me out as a huge Suga fan. Jose, pls don't mute me. I only want to bring awareness because I want to protect Suga. As an international fan, I also felt the way you did, initially -- that it's no big deal, no one got hurt and Suga owned up to it and apologized. But then I started reading the comments from K-citizens (I won't call them fans). I think I understand the sentiment. I think that the best thing we can do as fans is to not make jokes or downplay the gravity of the situation as THEY see it. The jokes and memes can be seen as int'l fans ridiculing the Korean culture AND IT COULD BACK FIRE ON SUGA BIG TIME. I learned that there were recent deaths due to a kickboard/scooter and a lot of deaths due to drunk driving so it's very sensitive to them. To us, it's really not a big deal but to them, it definitely is. Just like mariju*na use may be nothing in our countries, it is a huge issue to them. Remember that Suga is still a citizen of that society and he still has to live there while we are safe behind our keyboards thousands of miles away. What makes me mad is that their culture supports and normalizes drinking alcohol as if there were no tomorrow. Then, when stuff like this happens, they get crazy mad at the person who made the mistake. Alcohol fogs judgment. It’s a normal symptom of being drunk to make VERY bad decisions. In Korea a lot of stuff are a lot bigger and taken more seriously BUT ALSO major crimes such as sa cases are far more taken less seriously by police and doesn’t even act on right away when a victim comes to report but a fallen drunk yoongi not caught by the same said police driving the scooter WHILE drunk automatically asked yoongi to take alcohol level test no significant evidence at that time basically just assumed that he drove it because he was on the floor next to it and acted fast to get this to news because that’s a BTS member there it will make a massive news and would probably think this can bring up the police departments name looks good for not turning a blind eye and maybe makes up for those previous cases where they were incompetent or chose to be incompetent for some reasons with their job

I support him 100% Jin put a message out that he and them members are family and will support him and believes Suga made a mistake that they are human too and that he will learn from it. But still he it wasn't a car motorcycle boat or even horse it was less then a bike. He was already home. He should of just been left alone. I know Suga is really hurting for ARMY. And he is truly sorry. I believe him when he said he didn't know the law of the scooter. Also I don't think he was so drunk he fell over I think it was an innocent trip. We've all seen how he can handle alcohol and not once slurred or swade on him feel. He was littlerly on his scooter for 5 mins. As far as loosing his license it fair. Even here in the states your ticketed and get you license taken away. And he sincerely apologized recognized what he had done. I dont even care it's not even news worth. They reporting it like he killed some when we don't get the news for any other person a civiian because when he clocks out that's what he is. That's why he isn't getting into trouble. Even in the US, drunk driving is not well looked upon, so whether it’s in South Korea or ANYWHERE else, it could have been a dangerous situation. Thank goodness nothing happened to Yoongi , or anyone else. Yes, it’s a mistake on his part, but hats off to Yoongi for taking responsibility. I wouldn’t expect anything less from our cat ! Unfortunately, the haters will emerge from this episode, but…..who knows, maybe another masterpiece of a song will come out of this by our Yoongi too. All my love and support for our Suga ! 💜
Ok so my opinion about all of this is super simple and short. They’re reaching, acting like he went through a crowd with it, he came online and did apologise, he payed money and gave away his license. That’s where it ends for me, no need to act like he isn’t human and other people are angels, this is something so many people do but YET he gets hated on for it which is ridiculous.
Only those consumed by jealousy spread deceitful rumors, particularly directed at BTS due to their remarkable fame, boundless talent, and enduring success. Our love for Suga runs deep and unconditional, and it intensifies even further following the exaggeration of incidents, a phenomenon experienced by many. Our devotion remains steadfast amidst such challenges.
I feel this to be ridiculous that on E- kickboard scooter Yoongi had to put in an apology and d license has been revoked where as there are bigger issues happening in S.Korea that should be looked into... but I am so proud of Yoongi that he apologized immediately as he is a human and it's humans rights to error and learn from it. I hope this is left here n not made into a big deal by the media.

Suga's real error in judgement was forgetting that he is ALWAYS being watched, judged and scrutinized and a target. If was anyone else the police would have gone right past him. Or wrote a ticket for a fine end of story. No doubt he just wanted be a normal guy going home after drinks and dinner from basically a few blocks away. Because he is a decorated idol and contributor to the Korean national economy. Normal is not an option for him anymore. It's gonna be an Uber or limo ride for the next five years.
I don't get why this is such a huge deal when the same country let human sex traffickers walk after 1.8 months to 3 yrs in prison. And I don't hear any outcry from these same keyboard warriors who are making a mountain out of a molehill. BTW I am not a fan of BTS so I'm not saying this because I follow the group. I am a fan of people minding their own business and not trying to cancel/ruin people out of a simple mistake. Dude he was not driving a car he was on a scooter. If someone makes a mistake but accepts and acknowledges it and takes the punishment then I don’t think anyone can hold it against that person. Just because they are famous that does not make them immune to making mistakes they are still human the same as us 💜
