Totally agree. I have lived 23 years here in Bangkok and have never experienced or been a victim of a crime. I think its because Thai culture isn't confrontational. Hence pick pockets and bag snatching is the worst that could happen in the streets.
@@itsalexbentley If you're showing off your tattoos by wearing sleeveless shirts, you might get looks and maybe be asked to leave from some venues, but that doesn't equate to being unsafe. Also Korea and Singapore is just as safe as Japan, and there's less stigma against tattoos in those countries. I will say this though, Thais have a more welcoming attitude towards foreigners. Japanese and Koreans do not necessarily like foreigners that much and want little to do with you. But again, this has nothing to do with safety. By all measures, Japan, Korea and Singapore are light years ahead of Thailand in terms of safety.
I agree Thailand has very good healthcare and it's extremely affordable even at top tier private hospitals. You can take comfort in knowing that, but that shouldn't make you feel "safer" in Thailand than you would in Japan, Korea or Singapore. You have to consider the fact that the chances of you getting seriously injured in Thailand is astronomically higher due to the crazy traffic and lack of cohesion on the roads. Entire families riding on scooters without helmets going the wrong way at 70km/h not only endangers themselves but you and others as well. Every time I need to cross roads in Thailand, I literally fear for my life. In fact, the number one biggest fear I have in Thailand isn't crime, but it's actually traffic.
I've lived here for 20 years. I've never heard of this myth that has always surrounded Thailand that its somehow unsafe. I think the prevalence of this myth is a myth in itself.
LOL these little zoomers need everything to be safe and sterile. So precious! As a Gen-X guy (we played with glass as children) I find this funny as hell. I live in thailand, and I go around deathly afraid of everything LOL. The dried squid is especially menacing.
Not seen a fight? Sure your in thailand. If your phone goes you can usually get it back for a price.(finders fee). Have an accident and your fucked. Ps 3 years and cant say hello in a respectful way?
what a load of nonsense. Thailand has a reputation as being a war zone? No, Thailand has a reputation for being one of the safest countries on earth. The only safer countries are those 5 or 6 countries you mentioned at the beginning that you said weren’t safer than Thailand.
