Gogeta SSJ4 will not be the preorder character because they already stated that it will be a character that was never playable before in a Budokai Tenkaichi game.
I think Toriyama (Tori-Bot) should be the pre-order character, It'd be a great homage to Akira and be a nice reference to how Arale worked in the OG game as well

Nobody else seems to have noticed it, but in the trailer where they’re showing the custom battle thing. One of the titles has “Galactic Patrol” so I think it’s a safe bet that Jaco’s there.
Not only that, Jaco is seen on one of the squares during the custom battle loading screen after the screen shatters before going in the game. So he does have a model in the game

I agree; I actually think Super Saiyan Bardock has a higher chance, just due to being a fan favorite and being in stuff like FighterZ. I think we'll get a DLC pack with all the Great Ape forms at some point.

I think the other two members of the Trio De Dangers are more likely than the Universe 6 namekians. The Trio had an overall more prominent role than the Namekians, and we already have one of them confirmed
I would rather have Lavender and Basil to complete the danger trio instead of the two boring namekians. This way the Zeno expo mini arc story can happen
Judging how they put Burter and Jeice into one character they could do the same for the 2 namekians into one char and Recoome as the main and Guldo as the secondary saving 1 plus slot.

I would like to have them for sure (if it doesn't eat space from universe 6 warriors like Botamo and Magetta) but being in the ultimate is weird, otherwise you would just place all 3 of them and have this special interaction if you did play with all 3 of them otherwise he would do it by himself like the old raging blast 2 specials.
They are very likely to be in, considering they do have models made and appear in Bergamo's ultimate. For comparision - Saiyawoman does not appear in Syaman's ultimate, just regular old Videl

How many times are you going to avoid the fact that the confirmed 17 we have on the roster is called "17 (Super)"? Why would they call him "17 (Super)" if "17 (Z)" wasn't a separate character? I keep having to bring up the fact that characters like Goku, Vegeta, and Frieza have (Super) versions. If 17 was just called "17", then this wouldn't be an issue, but the (Super) naming definitely hints towards 2 17s. Also, I have a feeling that if we get the U6 Namekians, they should be 1 character with the second Namekian acting as an assist for certain attacks, like Yamu for Spopovich. Also, if we take the old Sonny Strait instagram post into account, then I have a gut feeling General Blue will be on the roster. And it Blue's on the roster, then there's a good chance Arale might reappear as well, especially helped out by her DBS appearance.

I don't think your tournament of power picks are gonna make it in, the 2 open spots next to bergamo are almost certainly for lavender and basil, as it would match their lineup in the danger triangle ultimate, I don't know who would fill the 2 slots above them though, could be where cabba goes
For the pre order character, I don't think will be someone important that can easily fit in a DLC pack (GT pack, or Movies Pack, for example) and I also think will be someone that will not have any "story mode" related stuff, will be just a extra character for the roster. My predictions is Beelzebub (Sand Land), Android 21 (FighterZ and other games), or maybe a original character for this game.
A guy from the top that is definitely making it in my opinion is the bird guy that fought master roshi, and he would take up two slots because of his transformation.

Babidi is definitely the biggest 50/50 here. On one hand, he was in 3. On the other, Babidi never actually fought in the show itself, and was always an odd inclusion. Personally, if him being cut meant we'd get Pui Pui and Yakon as individual fighters later on, I'd take it.
1. Mecha Frieza should just be an alt costume for Z Frieza 2. I dont think we get Great Ape Bardock. We already got 2 great apes and a 3rd whenever Baby is inevitably added in DLC 3. I find it hard to be believe that we wont get representation from EVERY universe in the ToP. So switch the u6 namekians with Ganos and Obni
Mecha Freeza can't be a costume for Freeza because Mecha Freeza is an Android character - his gameplay mechanics are different than normal freeza on the fundamental level. Unless they went so wild with the customization that we can make any character play as an android - mecha freeza needs a separate slot. And Mecha Freeza must be in the game for story mode purposes

I think Fasha has a good shot at making it in, just because the game lacks female characters and it'd be good for Bardock to have an ally in there, plus she was important to What Ifs in previous games.

Chi Chi would be such a cool choice. She's such a unique character that we haven't seen fight since Super Dragonball Z. I'd love Bulma too, it'd finally put her on the roster after all the hacking it took for her to be playable in budokai 3.

@megaspacewaffles that's why I said the anime. As do most series there are various details changed going from the manga to the anime. The other world saga where pikkon appears is only in the anime. The only non-canon for dragon ball are the movies.
I would love Kid Goku and ChiChi as playable, but I highly doubt they are going to be in the base game. ChiChi is almost never playable, I'm pretty sure the image you found is just from the story mode. As for Kid Goku, he would feel a little out of place in a roaster that is only DBZ and DBS at the moment.
Kid Goku is usually the only dragon ball character in the games,so he has high chance to be in. I also believe Uub (end of dragon ball z) has a chance.
I think we will have only canon characters at launch no gt and no movies commandant blue arale cyborg 8 and grandpa songohan from part 1 will make it majin buu pure evil too if spopovitch isn't skipped neither will they

No GT, no Movies, no OG even - is the safest bet to make at this point considering how many characters we have revealed already. There's not enough room left in the roster to include those outside of token apperances for the same of being represented at all. Filling these slots with story relevant character is a much better choice than adding a single character from GT just to go "hey look, GT is in"
I still believe Lavender and Basil have a chance of joining their brother to give us the full trio like Ribrianne's group. I would believe in their chances less If they had revealed Bergamo first and saved Burter and Jeice for later, but since every character we've seen with team attacks are all confirmed, then I don't see why they would be left out while Kakunsa and Roasie are playable.

They are NOT skipping SSJ Cabba. Cabba doesn’t get any more than 1 fight against Monna in SSJ2 in comparison. The reason why they skipped SSJ Caulifla is because she mainly uses SSJ2 during her fights in the TOP and SSJ could be tied to her base form’s ultimate attack.
So I'm gonna go from the old Tenkaichi where I ignored 80% of the roster, too now Sparking Zero where I still ignore 80% just a couple new ones in the use or not use piles. Cool
I think people are underestimating the amount of TOP characters that could potentially be in this base game… I think all of Frost’s forms beside the 100% buff one will be in the game. I think the buff form will be a skill like SSJBE.
i wanna point out that zarbons buffed form and even god toppo could just be blast stock moves, i think super perfect should absolutely be a blast stock since he doesnt even do anything anyway (unless he can explode then its peak)
It wouldn’t make any sense to do separate character slots. If they do then it’s for the sake of bragging and it would be messy. Ultimate tenkaichi, raging blast 2 and bt3 had it well. Separate character slots with more characters within those slots rather than just a cluster of characters everywhere
9:52 yeah nope, if Janemba was being added into the roster he would've 100% been in the fists vs swords (or blades forget the title of the trailer) but Janemba uses a sword in his super form, and if they were really gonna add him, they would've held SS Gogeta off to show them both, but they didnt, so for me he's DLC, the others are a maybe though

Some people I've talked to on Twitter said this roster could be bigger and that they are just hiding it. Apparently, Spike have never come out and said this game would have 164 characters, and someone told me that in an interview with the producer he hinted that there could be more. Hopefully that's true.
I'm 100% wrong about this, but can you imagine that in one of trailers rather than filling the featured characters at the roster they would instead expand the number of slot from all 4 sides? that would be a real mind fuck 😂

I think there's going to be way more tournament of power characters than people think, one in particular that i'm pretty sure will make it and that i haven't seen anyone mention is that bird guy that fought Master Roshi. Also that pepsi-man power ranger guy that changes modes. Since we're living in a post-super era i think it makes more sense for the roster to focus on DB, DBZ, and DBS characters for launch, especially when movies and GT are so easy to sell as DLC since it's not just the characters, but also the story of that content that they can sell you.

They skipped regular SS for caulifla, because she barely did something in that form. Cabba on the other hand was SS most of the time, so they probably skip SS2 for him.
I think the base roster will only be cannon characters and they'll save all non-canon characters for DLC. It would be a good way of dividing things and there are a lot of hype movie characters that would sell well.

@@cloudshifter He was missing from DBFZ base roster so while he's certainly a popular character I don't think it would be unreasonable to expect him to be DLC for this game either since he's non-canon and all the characters shown off so far have been canon.
A lot of characters will be added in DLC... All Dragon Ball GT characters for sure will be added as DLC. Characters from Dragon Ball like e.g Devilman, General Blue or Nam also will be added later. Characters form movies also will be added as DLC. Unfortunetly it looks like we will be forced to spend a lot of money after the release... it's not like in the old times where you bought a game it was full prodcut without any cut contetnt. Base sparking Zero will only have characters form DBZ and DBS (not confirmed info but it looks like that).
I mean ultimate Gohan is just Gohan, so it could be either a powerup like ssgss evolution or a different moveset since at the ToP you can't exactly tell the dif when he is ultimate and when he is base.
I think they'll probably make sure that absolutely everyone that has been in tenkaichi before will return in sparking zero , even if it seems like there arent enough slots , what im expecting is that when all slots are filled they'll send out dlc such as a GT chracter pack and then several movie packs to give us the best roster in history (it will suck if we have to pay extra for these characters but at least we'd actually be getting them)

Gogeta has no chance to be the pre-order because it's confirmed to be a new character to the tenkaichi series. 2. No shot they give us Goku and Vegeta GT and no GT villains. You need to accept GT is not in the base. 3. Chi Chi...No. I would be less surprised if they made Shenron or Frieza ship playable. In that screenshot we don't even see Teen Chi Chi that actually fought in DB, we see housewife Chi Chi. 4. Kid Goku will probably be in the game with that screenshot and maybe even his Great Ape form, but that doesn't mean anything for Bardock. Did you forget he got Super Saiyan in that special? Also Chilled is a character. 5. You put the 2 Uni 6 Namekians but not Bergamo's brothers that have models in the game??? Like WHAT? Even if those 2 green guys get in they will do so as 1 slot. 6. Gogeta SSJ4 as the preorder exclusive character would make people even angrier if you ask me. Pre-order "EXCLUSIVE". No way to get them unless you were one of the OGs that pre-ordered. Also they said that the mystery character has not been playable before so that instantly takes Gogeta SSJ4 away from being the mystery pre-order character

First gogeta 4, they said the Pre order character will be someone "never playable before in budokai tenkaichi" so prob not G4, maybe gohan beast, maybe something from daima (kid goku from daima would be a half lie from them) , maybe cell max, hard to know but G4 seems unlikely for it. And i also believe Z movies won't be part of it. imo just like GT they'll be their own set of DLCs because they know that a DLC z movies or GT pack will sell instantly, and instead i think in the base game we might get some OG db characters like android 8, general blue, piccolo daimao old (on top of the young version you already put in your roster prediction) , devilman, grandpa gohan, tao pai pai robot and maybe an other OG character like Nam (who was in bt3). An other character EVERYONE SEEM TO FORGET SOMEHOW when he's a pretty big deal at the end of the actual main canon story .... Uub i think we're getting the base form kid/teen uub in the base roster, and the adult version + majuub in the GT DLC. And while we have "Z Bardock" i think they could also add "super bardock" since he's canon to the DBS broly movie and db minus with jaco (but they could also put him as just a skin change). But if they do a "full full" roster for GT and get close to 30 characters, that's EASY 3 DLC packs of 10 characters at 10$ each, first one with SSJ4 Goku and Baby, second one with SSJ4 Vegeta + super 17 and 3rd one with SSJ4 Gogeta and omega. that's an easy way to make a bunch of money for them so i totally see them doing that. tldr i think we'll have dlcs for this game for years which is bad for our wallets, but very good for us to finally have a "complete" db game with a actual "full" roster of every character that fought in db's history.
Didn't stop Super Dragon Ball Z from making her a playable character. lol Plus, she's still an experienced fighter. Imagine they add her just for Goten's training. lol
