Installed this EMP Shield on my vehicle today. Even with cleaning battery terminals, nuts/bolts, attachment, cord tidy-up, took only about an hour. Real easy. Truck started and ran just fine afterwards. Hopefully it works. Not going to bother with doing the house. If EMP, it means live strikes likely coming so I'm jumping in the vehicle and getting out of Dodge. Now just need an EMP alarm that will wake me in middle of night. The people at EMP Shield would be wise to create an alarm as well. Easy to determine if it's an EMP while I'm awake... lights out, cell not working, laptops and walkie-talkies don't work. But if I'm asleep it could be hours before I find out. Hours too late.

So now you're the only one with a working vehicle, lets say with a full tank of gas .. now what ? as soon as your vehicle starts you are the main target in town. Better invest Bradly APC with an EMP shield.🙂 Most people cant imagen the level of the chaos the world will be in. PS. Best Case Scenario the grid isn't coming back for 5-10 years, and in a case of a CME X70 or higher.. global grid is gone for ever....

@@VickVanwinkle -- a valid point I considered, too. One reason, in my creation printed bug-out maps using Google Earth, I established more stealthy, less travelled routes out of the urban area. The freeways will be jammed of course, with not only vehicles but desperate people. Same with main roads, interchanges, etc. First alert to an EMP (I have a hardened alarm detector for this in case it's at night while sleeping), we are on the road via backchannels within 30 minutes. And out of the city in less than an hour. One more reason I have several long-term storage fuel containers already full and on standby in the garage.
@RealitySurvival
@RealitySurvival 6 месяцев назад
@vickvanwinkle You have made several false assumptions. First, about 30 % of vehicles will still run just fine after an EMP. Second, the latest study from EPRI says that the grid will likely be back up in 3 months for a single detonation. Third, you imply that by having a running vehicle that you will be the only person in danger. Not true at all. Walking through the chaos instead of driving puts you at a significantly higher risk of danger because your exposure to the danger will be so much longer. There are actions a person can take to help ensure that they get home more safely. One way is by using alternate routes that are less traveled and by having equipment with you that will help you clear disabled vehicles from your path. The chaos won’t happen immediately there will be a short window of time where people are just confused. In those first few hours you need to make as much time as possible towards your home. Because after the confusion will come the chaos. If you are still walking home when that begins you will wish you weren’t.

@@danrieke9988 Good plan, I guess the best time for bugging out will be the first few hours before everyone realizes the severity of the situation. Unfortunately I don't have a bug-out location but I'll start working on it. Maybe I'll install one on my truck. Thanks for the reply. 👍

A late engineering friend of mine who also worked for NASA and was a missionary built a new house when he retired. Since he was a bible believing Christian and knew that is coming on the world in the not too distant future designed one room of his house. I don’t believe this room was his Ham Radio room but never the less he covered all the walls and ceiling with copper screen. This made the room a Faraday shield. You could not get any radio signals in and out of this room. He also lived on a 100 acre spring fed lake. He told me that he had stored up enough long term food for his family for about 3 ½ years. As I said he studied the bible and know what is coming. If the rapture of the church (Christians taken out) before the 7 year tribulation happens or if we have to go through a period of time of no food and chaos he will be set. He said he used: Mountain House Foods Auguson Foods Patriot Food and Seychelle water bottles and pumps. My friend since has passed away but his storage ideas are good to know.

The problem that I see in an EMP event that brings down the grid is the fact that the "grid" is down. So , you have protected your home and car from being "fried". There is no electricity. There will not be electricity for weeks , or maybe months , or maybe never. You basically have been propelled back to preindustrial society. Most people in the United States are not Amish. You will not have any of the "modern" social constructs. You will be in a life and death struggle 24/7 if the event goes beyond 27 days. If the lights come back on , you're in good shape. You had protection. If the lights don't come back on , you had better have a plan B, C, & D. Otherwise you will be up that famous creek without a boat or a paddle.

Thanks for a great hour of EMP education. I actually called the company because I am in a Condo and wanted to know if this device would protect my unit. After a couple of questions, it was determined that my device will likely protect all 8 units in this building. The device is made to protect 250 linear feet in all directions from your breaker box to the meter. And, because my unit is at the far end of the building, everything from here to the meter is covered. I guess if an EMP happens, I won't be spending much on beer. I believe he misspoke. Since this interview I have spoken with their technicians several times and they have all indicated to me that the circuit does not have to be live. The unit will sense the electricity in the circuit when it is energized by the emp and will use that energy to activate the unit to shunt the excess energy to ground. I think he was trying to say that they are supposed to be wired into a live circuit in order to be most effective to provide the maximum coverage for other devices and the led light is there to let you know it is wired properly.

High voltage (230 or 500 kV) AC transformers are not built in the United States. Lead time on their delivery when supply chains are in good shape is 9 months. If an EMP takes out multiple transformers in multiple substations the grid would be down for years. But first we would have to get the communication systems back online to place the orders and the transportation systems running to move the transformers. Even if you could replace all the transformers within a month, it would take years to replace the control systems that protect the power grid. Heck, it takes years to replace them now when we have power and supply chains running normally! Read _One Second After_ by William R. Forstchen. That book describes very well how things would go following an EMP event targeting the US. And no presidential executive order can fix this problem because it is the American addiction to technology as the solution for everything that caused it.

I still don't understand exactly how this works. It seems that the EMP shield is essentially a surge protector, the problem is that an EMP is not technically a surge of electricity that just "shocks" everything. It is NOT at all the same thing as a lightning strike. It's essentially a radio wave that fries micro-circuitry. With the emp shield, you hook to your pos, neg, and ground to the frame of the car right? What could that possibly do to protect the micro-circuitry that the RF waves are passing through?
@RealitySurvival
@RealitySurvival Год назад
The “shock” as you put it is three waves of induced voltage that the magnetic waves induce into conductors. The EMP shield is very fast and dissipating the induced voltage so that heat does not build up in the circuitry by shunting that excess voltage to ground over and over again until it is within safe limits.
@TheKolen2434
@TheKolen2434 Год назад
@@RealitySurvival That makes sense, it makes more sense for a house because I assume the ground actually goes to the ground and allows the charge to dissipate. How could that work in a vehicle? Sitting on 4 rubber tires. I'm guessing the theory/hope is that it passes that charge to the frame and THAT is enough to keep your circuitry from frying?
@RealitySurvival
@RealitySurvival Год назад
Yep the capacity of the frame/subframe of a vehicle is much more than the induced current.

Best defence is Faraday cage everything and ground it. Several sides on the cage. Automobiles ...depending on intensity and source of emp it may not matter if say, nuclear detonation... the outer body would absorb some which is grounded to circuits in the vehicle. If a high potential is reached it could arc and destroy parts. Or the circut board act like a net for the pulse. If you had like, a underground shelter of some kind. Grounding the body (if steel) could help alot. If you want to see what will and won't work. Could always make a device that creates a emp and test it on things. But it won't be the same as other sources
@RealitySurvival

Faraday cages are good for smaller items for sure. No need to ground them though. Look up skin effect to learn why. Also for homes and cars faraday cages give you no protect. The best thing you can do is install an EMP Shield for those.

How can an emp shield possibly protect devices. Whether a device is plugged into the power grid or not, it can still be affected because a current is induced into the wires through a electro magnetic pulse, causing a current to be created in the wires. For instance, if my computer is not plugged into the wall, an emp will still affect all the electronics inside. The emp passing through will create a surge whether it's plugged in or not. This surge will fry the electronics. How can an emp possibly protect from that..... If I pass a Magnet across the wire it induces an electrical current into the wire whether it's plugged in or not. An electromagnetic pulse would work the same way. I simply don't understand how this device can possibly truly protect things. Everything would have to be completely shielded.
@RealitySurvival
@RealitySurvival Год назад
It will only protect the items that are plugged into the homes electrical circuit. It monitors the entire home electrical circuit for any out of range over voltage about a billion times per second. If it detects a spike in the electrical circuit it shunts the additional energy to ground immediately thereby preventing the circuitry from building up heat and getting fried. It does not protect items that are not plugged into your home electrical grid because it does it have a way to monitor that circuit. Make sense?

@RealitySurvival
@RealitySurvival 6 месяцев назад
That is a great question. It is because the vehicles whole electrical system is powered by the Battery/alternator. So it is all one big circuit. The connection at the battery enables the entire system to be monitored.
@JayP7676
@JayP7676 6 месяцев назад
@@RealitySurvival, I get it but you can run the vehicle just with the alternator alone once you turn the crank/Fly wheel over with the starter like pushing a manual car/vehicle if and when the battery is dead. You can have a short in the fuse box and the Vehicle will still run depending what it is in the fuse box if it’s the ECU/TCM then vehicle won’t work. You can have an electrical surge go through the vehicle even if it’s still grounded and it will fry any fuse, Electronics that’s in the vehicle? EMP Shield should post a video live demonstrating how EMP Device will work and prevent ruining electrical equipment in the modern vehicle in an event of an EMP. I still don’t understand how just simply plugging the device to the battery terminals and ground to the chassis. I use to be a mechanic and know how to also work on car audio system with capacitors, fuse blocks at the battery etc and you will still have a shortage you still have a shortage with the system ..
@RealitySurvival

@JayP7676 ok so hopefully this will help. The EMP Shield constantly monitors the vehicles electrical system for an acceptable voltage range. If it sees the voltage start to spike outside that range it will immediately, within a billionth of a second shunt that excess energy to the chassis. There by keeping the vehicles entire electrical system from building up to much heat and drying the electronics. It is essentially a VERY fast surge protector for the vehicles electrical system. Just the same as a whole house surge protector but built for vehicles. That make sense?

Residual power voltage stored in the components may be incited by the EMP. EMP is a Frequency spike across voltage. like 60hz is what the standard is. But if that frequency is significantly higher, then when it crosses the voltage path, the voltage increase will damage electronic components like resistors, capacitor, inductors... Even if the power if off to the house. there will still be residual power and an EMP can still cause damage. What I want to know is, What is the minimum voltage this thing will operate on.

The whole house and everything plugged in is one large circuit.
