My theory is, back in 2021 the Jays hit the shit out of the ball, but they were pulling a lot into the shift. Over that season we heard endlessly that they were trying to teach these guys how to be diverse all fields hitters. Over that same time Danny Jansen decided he wasnt going to try that and instead just pull everything and he all of a sudden became a good offensive player. Since that time the Jays other hitters have gotten worse and worse year over year and more and more indecisive at the plate. I think they tried to fundamentally change who they were as hitters (most hitters are natural pull hitters) and they messed with their mechanics and mentality.

Hope they all earn their money this year.

It isn’t a mystery, dude. The Blue Jays have a terrible GM, a terrible head coach and a terrible hitting coach. When an entire team sucks and continues to make mistakes every year, it is more than likely the result of bad coaching. And this will continue as long as the coaching and management staff remains. I guarantee you if Springer, Kirk or Vladdy went to another team, they’d start hitting.

Their biggest issue is that they believe their own hype. They should go back to play within their skill set and not try to play to their hype.

Great video, couldn't have said it any better, I've been watching this team since the early 80's and we've had a few bad years, but then we improved, this team has gone from bad to worse. OK Springer and Keirmaier are declining but still have speed and you need speed at the top of the lineup. As for Vladdy and for this reason Schneider should be fired. Why is Vladdy hitting in the 2 spot, let him hit 7th or 8th with Kirk and them hit their way up the lineup. As for Bo, we can cut him some slack, I mean this guy led the league 2 or 3 seasons out of the last 5 in hits and the end of the year. That's gotta count for something. He may not have the power but he's got bat control and a good eye. And why is Varsho always hitting so low in the lineup, he's gotta hit 4 or 5 right next to turner. Why don't they keep Filefa and Jansen higher up as well. Schneider has no clue how to make out a lineup. As for pitching props to the brass for getting rid of Mitch White, but why the hell wouldn't they keep Jordan Hicks, he only throws 103 mph from time to time. OK he needs work but they let Pearson figure it out and for the most part he's up and down but mostly up. And Bowden Francis is a work in progress, Hicks wanted to try starting , so let him and if it doesn't work put him back to set-up. Swanson not himself this year probably family concerns that is distracting him, totally understandable after almost losing your child to a tragic accident. What ever happen to that black guy from last year, Jay something, his wife gave birth near the end of the year I think. He started out in AAA and worked his way up to the team, he pitched middle relief and was really starting to show promise and was pretty effective down the stretch. I don't know whatever happen to him, we could really use an arm like that. Manoah is finished and Basset is struggling and we hope he can turn it around, and Rodriguez is amazing for a player who is just getting his feet wet in the Majors. Right now Kikuchi is our Ace and Gausman is slowly coming back to Ace status again. Barger and D. Schnieder have promise but it's hard for them when the rest of the offense is struggling. We need to tank like the Raptors and hope for a good draft pick. Look at Baltimore they went from worst in the league a couple of years ago to a contender, why can't we do that.

They got a lot of money. Esp Vlad and he got fat and lazy. Can’t play like that. Same with Kirk. The only guy I wd keep is Jansen. And Turner. Gausman. A few others. Dump the rest indeed. Schneider. Atkins. Gone. There’s no coaching.

No major league ball player is “trying to hit home runs” they may come out of their approach or not have a refined approach. Jays, don't have it. Proved it last year, doing it again this year. Now, relief pitching going downhill. They will lose more than win. Don't expect anything. They can't win. Atkins sold out, Vlady and the players sold out. Schneider 's trying to plug to many holes. Trade some dependable starters for a reliable hitter. Justin Turner is a has been, for all that money. All the hitters are has been, put the Bison's rookies in. They want to win.
