today's video is answering all of your questions about why I'm moving OUT of my loft + why I'm leaving LA! I've lived in my downtown loft for almost 2 years + I'm finally moving OUT of LA!
You guys left me questions about my move over on instagram / fb / twitter [follow me if you want to submit questions for the next q+a video!] so today's video is me answering all of those: the truth about why I'm leaving LA, why I'm moving, what I don't like about my loft, am I moving in with my boyfriend, etc.
I will be filming a new house tour once I move as well as other moving / organizing / home tour videos! Let me know what videos you guys would like to see in the comments! First off, YES to someone saying they don't believe in living together before marriage. I'm 25 and have never lived with a significant other. My dad and I have a running joke because I always say, I won't move my toothbrush if we aren't in talks of serious commitment. I just can't. Too messy, mixing bills and all of that when you're not married. NO THANKS. And I appreciate you being honest about how you feel about LA. I think it can be so romanticized and everyone thinks it's this amazing place to live, but that may not be the case for everyone.

Literally me with NYC, it pains me when people visit there, or go to school there and are obsessed with it, but then when you have to fend for yourself, somehow affording $2000 rent on a closet and buying yourself food in between spending at least an hour one way on a subway to get to your shitty job, the entire city is just a waste of time :')

There's a quote that goes along the lines of "Los Angeles is 72 suburbs in search of a city." I think that's so true because our downtown area is so underdeveloped and embarrassing. We probably have the worst DT in the whole of the country and like everybody that lives in LA actually just lives in LA county.

I live here I like it, but I stay in The Valley. I've lived in the crappy parts of LA and I get it DTLA can be the worst because we have such a huge issue with homeless people and we really need to put resources into helping them since a lot of them have mental health issues. However, I digress from the others I like it its chill, but I get Carly I mean I could totally move down to Orange Country or Santa Barbara and still be fine with just visiting LA. Though my work is here so I have to go to WeHo and it's hellish traffic like once a week. Also, sometimes the people are exhausting it's hard to find real people because everyone is a mover and shaker trying to get ahead and sometimes they can be real assholes.

I live low Angeles! On the weekends! But my husband work in downtown and it's horrible. And yes we have lived here all of our lives but the traffic and the characters that you find are the biggest reasons not to like it

Carly, come to Minneapolis instead! It's all the urban excitement and industry stuff of LA on a smaller scale with generally more polite/modest people. Our summers are beautiful, 70-80 degrees and sunny, our winters are snowy and picture perfect for the holidays, and we have Mall of America and some fantastic restaurants :)

I think I couldn't live in LA since it feels so hectic but I wouldn't mind living in California. Both the south california and north california has the cutest little towns, mountain views, apple tree fields etc. All the best with the move Carly!

Sam S girl just cause it's crappy doesn't mean it's cheap. It's hella expensive to live in downtown LA. It's all about location, you're paying to be in the middle of everything. Not necessarily for a nice apartment.

no downtown is expensive and sucks but has a lot of new renovated places and weho and santa monica/brentwood tend to be older. if you are looking to buy, generally downtown is cheaper. to rent, its about the same. downtown is also more central than nicer areas of la (like no freeways in weho, traffic trapping u on the west side if ur in sm)

Kayla Moore oh i know it's expensive in general, it's CA, but i always thought downtown was way less expensive than a nicer part of LA because people always talk shit about how gross downtown is lol. but then again like every youtuber who lives in LA doesn't live in downtown, if they're married/looking to start a family, so i guess that also matters here
