The TRUTH about your Sensitivity (NO BS)

I discuss WHY your sensitivity is unique to you and why it isn't the same as other players.
The goal of this video is to discuss why it is not the best idea to rely on other players, content creators, pros or streamers' sensitivities as there are multiple variables which can influence how your sensitivity feels. This includes if it is high sensitivity, low sensitivity, high sens or low sens.
I hope that this video helps you in having a better understanding of sensitivities in general, and if you already know the information I share, then that's great! This video is intended to help all players: beginner, intermediate, advanced players and provide a guide to players who may not be as familiar with what I explained in the video.
I appreciate the love, it really makes my day, thank you ❤️

Finally someone talks sense about aiming, people need to know how many factors come into play when it comes to aim. Sensitivity, mouse; mouse sensor, mouse grips (claw, palm fingertip, hybrids), mouse size, mouse weight, material used to make mouse(for a tighter grip), wrist/finger tip/ arm aimer, table height, chair height, fatigue, humidity, whether your wrist/arm is sweating or not, anxiety levels or calmness and what not. Great video man, well done. 👍 BTW I play a low edpi and realized I would aim better whenever the AC would be turned on (lol), turns out its because my arms dnt get sweaty and i can move smoothly.

Actually a useful video and not just a click bait. Hats off to you FPS Fox. I myself has been what they call a "wrist aimer" since I played MOBA all my life and I've been used to using 2800 dpi x 1sensi light mouse on a cloth pad. Everyone just kept saying I should switch and get use to 800 dpi x 0.4 or whatever they recommended because their fav. pro player used it. It'll worn my hand/arm out if I were to do that. Although I did took the advice and switched to 2800 dpi x 0.69 sensi (noice) and my aim has been a little more consistent or it could be the warm up before matches. Thanks to the video I realized I do aim with my fingers too, left/right via wrist and up/down via fingers. And that I also realized that I've been fingertip gripping all my life because I have large hands/long fingers (I'd be pressing the buttons with my phalanges if I wanna palm grip). One of the most useful videos for valorant or gaming in general under 5 minutes. Respect.

I've been playing FPS for 2 years+, nearly 3 years and until recently only I find the most suitable setup for me. Been using 4 mice, until 2 months ago I get my Lamzu Atlantis Mini, finally I feel that:" Damn is this mouse customized for me?" For the pad, been switching from GSR to Artisan Hayate Otsu, and recently get a GSR-SE Rouge, and from that time my aim improved drastically. For those sweaty hands as me, I will recommend to wear sleeves to glide better and also avoid to drench your mousepads. Now I switch my mousepads between different games, and yeah, it takes time to find your optimal setup. but it deserve the time.

another thing, you dont have to specifically do arm aiming or wrist or fingertip, you can switch it up on the fly for whatever situation, also a biggggg factor to how your aim feels is your desktops sens cuz thats what you will be using 9999% of ur time on the pc. your "natural sensitivity" comes from that atleast imo. i can go anywhere from 65cm/360 to 25cm/360 comfortably, as long as i change my desktop sens to get close to how it feels ingame, also different fovs and sensitivity scales between games are gonna be different, i play csgo around 65ish mostly and i play apex at 25-30, thats just what feels comfortable, and probably the most important thing for hitting your shots is comfort. if you feel comfy in whatever sens your playing youre not really thinking about your mouse and crosshair and where you need to aim and bla bla bla, you just move your hand naturally and there isnt a lot of processing your doing, ive been trying this stuff out the past year or so and ive noticed my aim is more precise, faster, and consistent when i stop thinking about it all and just aim. you just gotta find whats natural for you, also constantly changing your sens around will help alot in rounding out your aim skill

Very good video, I’d like to also point out about training your aim. I have done both styles of training my aim. I first tried having my same in-game sensitivity and my Kovaaks (or whatever aim trainer you use) the exact same. I have discovered that all it takes to be a good aimer is to have good mouse control, your sensitivity doesn’t necessarily matter if you have good mouse control, you can have sensitivity ranges that you prefer and feel more consistent results on. But just about any good aimer can adapt to any sensitivity fairly quickly. This notion about needing to use the same sensitivity for years to get the muscle memory down is not worth it. I recommend that you find a sensitivity that you like the feeling of looking around on the most and training on that sensitivity to get better aim. Back on topic of what I was getting at. When you aim train (not when you are playing comp games or whatnot, but solely aim training) you should double your sensitivity and aim train on that. It will point out all the flaws in your raw aim immediately that you yourself can bare witness to. When you train on very high sens (9-20 cm 360) once you go to play your matches your aim will feel way more controlled and less shaky and you will be more consistent. Your brain adapts very quickly to sensitivity changes. Once I started training my aim on a 17 cm 360 when I play valorant on a 37 cm 360. I noticed the benefits immediately and you can see your own progress day by day, week by week. Of your aim becoming a lot more solid and consistent.
@fps_fox
@fps_fox Год назад
I agree that changing sensitivity once in a while helps put into perspective where you are in your sens, e.g. I play on a fairly low sens, but on a higher sens i can check my corners faster without needing to swipe my arm on my mousepad
@Karebu.
@Karebu. Год назад
@@fps_fox I really like about a 35-37 cm 360 sens, I feel like if I go too fast, my aim becomes lazy and I auto pilot when I aim more. But I absolutely hate running out of mousepad. So anything above a 40 cm 360 is too slow for my liking, anything under 35 and I become way more likely to auto pilot my aim, especially after a 12 hour shift at work. I aim train on a 13 cm 360 though (previously was 17 cm 360)

The deviation is so miniscule that there is no point in even considering it in purchasing a mouse thats at least $80+ because all sensors at that range are not different enough to warrant looking into it. You're better off buying a mouse that fits your hand like a glove even if it has 0.001 more dpi deviation than a G Pro that might have 0.00000000001 dpi deviation.

Long story short is honestly find a seating position which you feel comfortable on, a height and distance for your monitor so you can sit and play for a long period of time without your neck feeling sore, because all of this play a huge part in consistency especially for tactical fps games.

I am iron 3 and I just started playing the game with 0.9 sens and 1200 mouse dpi, but a lot of pro videos I watched always recommend to have low sens if you're below immortal which seems very hard for me cuz I only have small mousepad. I'm comfortable with 0.9 sens tho cuz I'm a Raze main and I always have to "Flick + satchel" in some instances to reposition myself. However, due to a high sens, I am struggling to aim especially when I strafe and shoot, cuz it's hard for me to micro-flick that makes me lose most of my gunfight. This video kinda helped me decide on what to stick with, maybe I need to practice more in order to play well with my high sens.

Only other thing I would say is that a lot of gamers won't be able to buy new equipment so find what works well for what you have. Changing mouse sense everyday isn't good for building muscle memory so it shouldn't be done constantly. Find a mouse sense you can work with and just practice, overtime you'll get used to whatever you set it to and you'll do better than if you changed your sense over and over. Equipment will play into what you can do so like one of my friends played with a tiny mouse pad so his sense was cranked almost to max because he literally had to and another plays with an office mouse but they're much higher rank than I am. Equipment will matter to figure out how you want to tune your settings but it won't limit you as a player.
@fps_fox
@fps_fox Год назад
I agree, my point in this video is that you should do what's comfortable for you, and not rely on popular player or content creator's sensitivities , because their experience will be different, this video isn't about getting better equipment, it's saying that if you have 2 different mice with same sens, it may not be the same feeling when moving your cursor around

I have a G502X and chose this over the Superlight when the proces were similar on Black friday because I play on a high sens (0.45 on 1600dpi) in a game especially like valorant where precision matters I need some resistance to get a good stop without straining my hands way to much to hit the necessary headshots. I am sticking to this high sens because I switch between BR games as well as shooter games like Valorant and so I would need to turn quick 360s way more often in BR games which is easier with a high sens. I am slowly trying to reduce the sens now ever so slightly weekly while aim training becuase I don't htink a high sens is in any way healthy for the joints

It depends on the combination with the mouse pad , if you use a g502 with a glasspad the friction will be less so it won't feel as "heavy". And yeah I have a Saturn pro which is similar to the artisans 😊

Can you give us a short comment about posture ? My posture is laid back and not a strait back so I got used to wrist aiming, so sitting up the proper way and having my whole arm on the mousepad is just alien to me. Probably limits my potential but was just curious what you think. A bit of an older video but still really good. Thanks for making it
@fps_fox
@fps_fox Год назад
In terms of posture, ergonomically the healthiest way is to be at a 90 degree angle bent at your knees and elbows and having an arms length from your eyes to the monitor. and your eyes should be at the level matching the top half of the monitor. ^ That is if you want to be ergonomically healthy. But as you may have seen, a lot of streamers don't follow that ruleset, as they have the monitor so close up to their face etc, I would say whatever is consistent for you and doesn't ache your neck/back or arms/shoulder etc. I used to play where my neck would ache then I started looking into ergonomics, turns out I was looking too down at my monitor and the distance from my eyes to the monitor were too close. Now thankfully, I no longer have that issue because I put my monitor further back and increased the height of it. TL:DR = Find a position you can consistently be in everyday and something that isn't going to cause pain/aches.

A lot of you don’t have to worry about any this. Your brain isn’t stupid and will adapt really quickly. If you constantly change sens, yes you will perform worse because you’re not used to that sens. You don’t have to change the sens to something you are more confortable with, you can just leave the sens as is, and it will become confortable. Your mouse pad being dirty doesn’t matter because your brain will adapt to it. Having a mousepad is more of an aesthetic choice for your setup especially if you have a mouse with skates. A lot of you guys just need to play the game and stop worrying about other factors that your brain will just get used to. If you have the money to get new stuff for your setup, then go for it or don’t worry about it.
@fps_fox
@fps_fox Год назад
I agree with the brain adapting, however, my point is that if you see your favourite player with a sens of 0.2 800 dpi, don't just copy thinking that's the right sens for you, the point of this video is that your sensitivity is unique to you because of variables as mentioned, this video is not saying buy a specific mouse or mousepad etc, it's saying don't look at other people's sens and assume you'll have the same experience, because that's not the case

I call the BS about the mouse weight thing, imho the problem for most people is having a to sensitive mouse where every micro movement effects it. Turn down DPI or reduce the hz on yout mouse so it stands more still, or reduce your sens ingame and try acceleration because you can then have very low sens and 360 turns with ease. If your not a grinder this should be tested
@TheACTIONZ

@fps_fox

I used to play on high edpi but eventually you get used to it, and keep in mind it might be hard to do a 360 on a cloth mousepad , but on a glasspad , since there is less friction, I believe it is faster than doing it on cloth
@immatt.8657
@immatt.8657 2 месяца назад
a coach of a pro said a glass mouse pad would in theory be the best because of the consistency of the glide making you know exactly what the mouse will do with your sensitivity but the learning curve is too big thats why people hesitate

i bought like 7 mouse to find whats the best fit on my hand. the most important thing about mouse is the shape for me, second the weight, its so much difference between a 60gr, 55gr, and 50gr u kinda need some times to adapt. and also depends on the game, such as league is sucks using lightweight and wireless cause how hard it is to control the cursor even after weeks to adapt i still cant. i have 2 main mice right now, 1 for FPS and 1 for other things

@FriendNotFoeBand
@FriendNotFoeBand Год назад
@@fps_fox micro adjustments. sometimes it's like hitting a brick wall on 400 dpi with a fat ergo mouse, but if I do 800, or sometimes 1600, it registers tinier motions, so I get more micro adjustability in less space. Like on the EC2 I used 800 dpi because of how restrictive the shape was, but on the NP-01s I use 400 because the mouse can kinda roll around in my palm a lot more, even with it jammed up into the bottom of my palm. Also it takes less effort to stabilize at 400 on that mouse where the EC2 is inherently stable.

Hard pads only have less friction if you're using a sleeve or are in a humidity free environment. Otherwise your mouse will fly, but your wrist/arm will stick within a single competitive session. So ti's even more complicated than that :p However, in the end... unless your mouse *absolutely* doesn't fit your hand, is broken, or your mousepad is made of cardboard... it won't make much of a difference if you're bad at whatever game you play. It won't make a silver into gold. Just won't. Been there. You can give a pro a 30 bucks 3310 sensor, wired, heavy ass mouse, a 60hz monitor and lock the game at 60fps and he'll still crush every single one of the people watching this comment section. It's about what you're comfortable with, comfort will make you better in the end because you'll stop thinking about your gear. *That* is the secret. Reddit, on the other hand, is an echo chamber.
