What a worldview does, is distort the way we respond to evidence. This is mostly unavoidable. My tactic is: When I encounter a new idea or piece of evidence, stop and say to myself "that's interesting, I wonder if it's true." It seems most people just reject ideas that don't match their worldview.

Everyone has a worldview, so it is impossible to approach a new idea or piece of evidence without seeing it through our worldview. One cannot say "I have no worldview." But, you are spot on in that we need to be aware of our worldview. When we encounter something and see that it does not match our worldview, we need to step back and evaluate our worldview. The goal is not to find a worldview that works for us, but to adopt the worldview that suits the world.

@@ericdailey8587 There is a talk called our worldview alters our view of the world, that I think you will find interesting. I mostly agree with you, although I think goals are context dependant.

I'm not sure that an audience poll where you ask "what would you say......" is the best way to find where people get their ideas. What it shows us is what members of the audience think is the source of these ideas.

Does Jeff Meyers have a podcast?

There are two I'm aware of that I have subscribed to in the podcast app I have. "The Dr. Jeff Show", a current podcast where he interviews major thought leaders and a no longer current (sure wish it was) but still available Summit podcast, "Christian Worldview Thinking", with interviews of Jeff and other Summit teachers, and audio of some of the classes they taught. Another great podcast (weekdays) about worldview issues is The Briefing with Albert Mohler. He covers daily news issues from a Christian Worldview perspective.
