If etsy has removed listing then it was not because they was not hand made. It was probably because the shop owner probably was breaking laws and doing things which was against etsy policies such as selling products and saying you are located in the states but you really are located in another country or selling products that are trademark and getting copyright marked and etc. Shops can also be copyright strike even if the person who said they are selling something they own the right to and they can just lie and make it up. Etsy has a lot of short coming issues. I can attest to a shop which I have proof was not located in America that literally stole my shop photos I took and said they can create the product. What was crazy is that my photos have a watermark on them which can clearly be seen on the other shops photos. I asked that same shop to please take it down politely and they said no so I filled out a copyright form for that shop to have etsy take it down. That shop then filled out the same form for 20 of my listing which was down for 2 weeks I think and they pretty much lied and etsy did nothing but let them do that and etsy took my stuff down which I owned and I showed them but it didnt matter.

I’m not sure if you’re a member of any print on demand Facebook groups but there are lots of people who’s shops have been disabled for what only seems like an attempt to remove pod listings and not anything you’re mentioning

A family member was on Etsy years ago with her artwork.... she saw problems then and eventually got off. I'm really just starting back up with my shop(s) and getting back to the classes now that I'm on a LOA due to a work injury - I have a couple of months for the surgery to heal before I have to go back.... spending as much time as possible on the business. Grest update thanks , new subscriber here appreciate your insite on how to still gave fun with pod. Now with etsy has every seller in a Rut on a hamster wheel back in the rat race. They cant really show case there passions and love for creating unique products which they could express themselves through a niche. Etsy needs to step up and we also need to realize they dont care they going to do whats best for them.

I think the future with AI design is eventually every design will be very similar because they trained with the same data, and people will have to put more effort into the design, and at that point everything will come full circle.

It's sad because Etsy used to be a great place for handmade and unique items that you wouldn't find elsewhere. Now like the report said it really is just expensive Amazon. And I am an artist and completely agree that AI is flooding all markets with 6 fingered crap.

Etsy fees and ads are terrible they take half of your monthly profit.

Sounds like that is what I was sharing about in the beginning how they broke revenue records but didn’t increase sales

That's just half of the problem. The other problem is that they teach the customers they can lie and be rude as well as curse you out and call you all kinds of names to get what they want. I've seen customers bluntly tell lies and etsy has no customer service for shop owners but the shop owners are pretty much etsy customer service for everything.

I find Etsy would be stupid not to allow designs that have been created with AI using a PoD fulfiller. The future is AI, and Etsy as well es everyone else better deal with it or they will lose big time.

You may see that as being a profitable route but as a designer and a seller who sees foreign people coming onto etsy to sale products for half the price. Adding AI to the pool will cause more issues and will only decrease the prices sellers would be able to sale products at. That being said etsy still will take their big cut from a $2 AI generate print which would mean you would not be making any money because of ads, clicks, listing fees and etc.

@@hendersonandre1 and who said that I‘d sell, say, shirts for less than others? Plus, I‘ll put the same effort into designing, ideas, finding the perfect prompt, finding the perfect niches, keywords etc., let alone working hours, fees for AI subscriptions, so I couldn’t even sell them for less than „traditional“ designers. I think everyone should have their try and traditional designers and Etsy should realize that times are changing.

@@letmeeeentertainyou You obviously did not understand my point. I did not say you would sell an item at a cheap price. I was generalizing because most sellers would sale their products at the cheap price to compete with other etsy sellers. This kills the etsy ecosystem for small or new shop or even older shop owners because you get a set pool of customers looking only for dirt cheap prices. So you would end up with less sales in the long run if the same type of customers are shopping. I have seen shop owners sell digital items for dirt cheap say $2-5. And allow the customers to edit the item on a platform such as corjl. Then on top of that they will give the customer unlimited downloads. Now if you have an item that's digital and AI generated and you sell it as an editable on etsy for $2-5. Then you have etsy taking 30-50% off top from the listing, transaction, ads fee and more. This is a rough estimate but etsy takes 10-30% from customers clicking on ads. Then they take 10-20% more because customers are just clicking the listing. Then you have 10-15% taken because of listing fees. Then another 10-15% taken from processing the transaction. Then you have it as an editable on corjl taking their fees which means every time a editable is generated they charge a fee and you have a monthly fee with them as well. I think it can be around 10-20% to generate the editable for the customer. Then you have that same shop giving customers unlimited downloads. Now all of this will leave you with crumbs or in the red. And to add if a shop is telling customers they will give them unlimited downloads for a product that is on a platform that they do not own "corjl" is misleading because if that platform goes out of business or closes the business owner just deceive the customer by telling them they have unlimited downloads forever when that's not true. I am saying what I have seen first hand.

As an artist I think Etsy should curb AI. I can’t compete with someone using AI to create art in less than 20 minutes when it could take me weeks to create.

As a beginner artist that still relies on other artists to make my designs I will never succumb to using Ai! It just looks generic & lacks individuality, probably because they’re using the same prompts.
