The Truth! How It Feels To Wear This Watch! - AP Royal Oak Frosted! 

It’s subjective. I’ve seen it in person. From distance it looks like an aftermarket ice out AP , but when u get close u realize .. ohh wait those aren’t diamonds .it’s also shiny at the light . But in real u need to know to know .I personally think is a beautiful watch and it’s sure a conversation starter for those that know .

The purple dial on the frosted finish is a mint piece, tried it on a while back. Even though if you hit the frosted finish hard or light bang, rub, I still believe it will hide the damage better then the satin any day of the week, preventing any kind of refinishing. A brand new RO with satin, including my own, a few nicks and one ding on my bezel you can see them at a glance. I love the look, it’s something I don’t believe anyone else has done on the market, looks blingy without the full diamond pave price, more sporty then stones,even though it’s 250k a diamond piece would be at least double. I would love to see a stainless model with a teal dial. Great video on a rare watch Eric, Jeff.

Eric, would love to understand the travel history of this watch. How such a hard to get piece came in your possession. Without revealing the guilty, how this watch might have been allocated, flipped, dealer one, dealer two, dealer three, now to you, and what kind of client might buy it. I can't stop staring at it!

I was looking at my phone when your video was posted, but after watching it there are already 11 comments posted. They can’t have watched the whole video before commenting, as I clicked on it immediately. I remember these frosted AP models coming out around SIHH (now Watches and Wonders) 2018. It was created utilising a traditional Florentine (Florence, Italy 🇮🇹 - where Panerai originated) artisanal jewellery finish, created by hand hammering the surface by hand with a punch tool with the negative of the finish hammered on to the white Gold. My mum and auntie had inexpensive watches in the 1970s with it, when it was popular that my dad got. Probably from his credit card catalogue, which were new in the UK about 1973/4. I’ve forgotten the name of his card. There was only one originally. The finish will attract dirt. It’s why you cannot have a textured finish like this in hospitals so you can clean it It must be like the facets of a diamond scintillating the light. I’m not mad about it either as it was used for womens’ watches here in the UK 🇬🇧.

That aside, I am not a fan of this watch, I don’t get the frost at all, diamonds pop better if you want that look, otherwise leave the metals for the standard finish, I don’t get it’s place in the market and who would buy this

100%, the standard RO brushed finish is so much nicer and more elegant. I also like the look of the previous model chrono (26331). Something about contrasting sub dials with the smaller one at 6. Maybe just me, but that's hottest chrono AP ever made.

The last view videos you been rocking some hard to obtain AP pieces very nice 🙌🏽. The ruby red dial/bezel rose gold AP is solid

Hi Eric, Cool video again. Just like that you always give your honest opinion and do not hype something you do not like. Here in continental Europe we like our watches more low-key, and not iced out. In general I do not like the AP royal oak, except for the simple ultra thin with the blue dial. So this frosted one is still a no go for me, but already much better that an iced out version. But hey : the fun part of collecting watches is that there is something for everyone to like. For me it is a simple rolex datejust or a nice Jaeger-Lecoultre. Keep the vids coming !!

As you are walking around with it on - sometimes the lighting is affecting the colour of the bezel and some of the colours are making it look a lot better.

You are so right. The "frost" gives it this extra shine without goin chandelier but the gray dial is just boring. It needs some counter-color like the purple or a blue, black, red whatever. Gray is just meeh.

The fact is.. this is an amazing watch.. but let’s use some perspective.. if I was going big - really really big and spending a quarter of a mil... it’s not on the shortlist for me!!! Your dial suggestions would make a huge difference ... but I guess there is demand for a toned down - no actually as I type this... how can there be a huge frosted beast of a watch that is aiming for a toned down market ha ha... It just doesn’t work!!!

Eric I saw the purple dial frosted at the factory on a tour 2 years ago. I was fortunate enough to get it when I returned to the States. I wear it seldom because I have so many watches in my collection. But when I do it gets the most attention and is a big hit. I agree that it probably shows much better with a with a color dial.

How about a review on the new Speedmaster? The bracelet is so similar to rolex.

Ure a man of class with a sportish flavour, i think stainless steal ap or patek could b your cup of tea, but when u wanna rock with a suit ure the guy who can easily wear yellow gold without seeming a gangsta from the 50's or a classy white gold piece.

This AP, Chronometer Frosted White Gold with grey dial! Is absolutely beautiful, greatest Haute Horology Watch ever made! Eric, your problem is too many option’s with other brand’s, that are super inferior in my opinion! Like Patek Philippe, Vacheron Constantine, and Rolex!

Well… that’s not the usual AP that you see. But I absolutely agree with you, that grey dial makes it look a little bit wierd. I also agree that it’s the step before an iced out watch (factory please), I still like it though.

I think its beautiful but would opt for.a sateen , I prefer white gold watches over yellow or rose and see where they are going with this. Without seeing the finish up close I would say it’s a heavy bead blasting finish. That’s simple to repair. If it’s a hammer finish then some effort is needed, machine finish send it back home to the factory.
