@@Steven_Rowe You can tell that the Gillett bells were tuned after they were taken out of Hanley, recently. They should have kept them how G&J tuned them back in 1923 and not changed them really.
@@RingerLuca651 I hadn't heard them so no idea if they sounded better. It begs the question what they retuned them, it's not a cheap exercise.. I also wonder why pre war heavy Taylor bells sound better and have a deep drone to them. Has the tuning altered.. Tuning is a very complex craft
@@Steven_Rowe ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-31GNJ1G-qEg.html this was them before you can tell they have gotten rid of the gillett twang
@RingerLuca651 I don't think you should comment on something you know nothing about. I'm sure there was a good reason to why they were tuned. The reason was that the bells were too compressed and that the tenor was flattened for then the ring to not compressed or narrow.
Type in youtube the bells of york minster You will see plenty of videos of the actually way the bells are rung. This is called change ringing and every sequence is different, Because the bells ring full circle it means that ringers can swap the sequences of the bells. Each bell should sound sequentially so bells should not be sounded at exactly the same time.
