The Twelve Chairs | Soundtrack Suite (John Morris) 

My favourite Mel brook's film - with great music too.

Based on the russian novel by authors Ilja Ilf and Jewgeni Petrow "The Twelve Chairs" (1970) seems like a rather odd choice for Mel Brooks to take his hands on. Watching it, it seems like a perfect marriage between the Russian source and Brooks' talent as a comedian and director. That being said, his song "Hope For The Best" also showed greatly his musical talent. In collaboration with his friend John Morris the movie received a rather serious musical score that served the imagery oh so well. Unfortunately, the music is still unreleased on CD or digital Format to this very day, so you are listening to a (great) vinyl rip of Morris' splendid recording. Enjoy!

Wonderful! Morris wrote excellent music that is often overlooked today. I swear I can hear the Viking Funeral cue from History of the World in "Walk Across Russia". Thank you, Fred.

John Morris' score is the best thing about this movie by far.

Hi, Fred! Neither John Morris or Mel Brooks thought of making movies, but after meeting each other on TV, and with the good results of " The Producers "(1968), they acquired such an affinity that at one time some thought that " John Morris " was a pseudonym of Mel Brooks ( nothing to do it, Brooks was a third - rate drummer and pianist ). The symbiosis was so great that Morris only got it right in comedies like this one, where he develops his talent for parodies and falsely serious songs. Here he makes a " comic " version for the 4th movement ( in F Minor - Poco Sostenuto ) of Johannes Brahms' " Ungarische Tanze "(1869) in a excellent combination of male choir ( typical in Russian hymns ), violins, domra ( an old Russian folk instrument ) and accordion. Morris is extremely adept at softening Brooks' often out - of - control mood with his wry music. Few Morris soundtracks have been released commercially, making this lovely vinyl a rarity!! Well... ("Spera il meglio, aspettati il peggio!") rappresenta dalle prime sequenze del film un avvertimento costante in tutto il film anche relativo al finale dell'avventura. La musica è inoltre ripresa pedissequamente dalla "Danza ungherese n. 4" di Johannes Brahms. In Italia, il film si chiama "Il mistero delle dodici sedie". Through the historical periods, we represent various types of revolutions with scenes, choreography, music, monologues: Scientific discoveries, art, the French revolution, the industrial revolution, economic booms, human rights, education and culture, fashion with stylists and photographers, up to the present with something that should represent environmentalism, the web/social era and Influencers. The show is in May. I want to remind you that we actors in the theater workshop are disabled and invalid people, conducted by educators and volunteers. These factors make processing more complicated.
