I used to have an FC, but it was an NA automatic. Bought it for $1000 not running, put a fuel pump in which cost me $50, drove it for a little over a year and sold it for $1000.

Angel is a well-known dude in the rotary world here on the east cost. Back when my brother had his FC's i got the chance to meet the guy. Very outstanding guy who loves to help the east cost rotary people and super knowledgeable as well. Definitely recommend him to anyone wanting to get into the rotary scene.
Too bad they absolutely wrecked their california reputation. Known for good knowledge, but they under-delivered on a ton of builds and left people hanging like crazy.
Over 10 years ago now, a friend of mine named Andrew had a White FC Turbo II that was built and decked out, Coilovers, Mint Interior, Built Motor w/big turbo on 20lb+ that was his baby. I had an STi at the time on the stock turbo w/E85, and he was down to swap cars for a day. It still sticks out in my mind as one of the most memorable cars I've ever driven. The sound of the ported rotary loping at idle, the smell of the pre-mix, the 2-stroke type power band....it was like a CR500 incarnated into car form. A few times since then, I've been very tempted to buy a blown up RX8 and do a big single, and this video reminds me why I still want to get around to doing that!

The FC is often overlooked is because it was designed as a GT car, rather than the raw sport car of the FB and FD. That’s why it is more comfortable and enjoyable.
Yes they are worth it.. however understand the compromises. It's cool, but they are NOT low maintainence. The more you want from it, the more you need to pamper it and work on it. But the experience of a rotary ICE... it's on it's own special plateau.
Rob Dahm made me a huge fan of rotaries, so much so, that I took my dad to the Pikes Peak Hillclimb a couple weeks ago because I knew Rob would be there with his 3-rotor. Definitely wasn't disappointed.
I think is time for thia guy to invest in better camera and audio quality his videos still sound and look from 2015😅 maybe with the temu sponsorship he can get decent equipment on there 😯
...and to think I sold a 91 Turbo as a rolling chassis (everything still there), EMS, dual stage BC, dual N1 exhaust (omglol), and all the other crap in it for about 1800 bucks. Granted this was like in 2004. Oh wellsies. Glad to see them still going, even more so here in VA :D
My first turbocharged car was an FC. It was in 2002 and nobody knew how to work on them and RU-vid wasn’t a thing. So I really had a hard time learning about it. I miss that car and wish I could own it now.
We built the car below with two FC'S, the GTU and a gxl. We produced tne 88 fc3s gtu, 6port with the modified pineapple racing Street Port template from the person who ran the Mazda Star racing engine building! It's na and Mike got to drive it and he just kept saying to my dad "this Bridgeport really pulls up top". As long as you don't mess with the way Mazda had it you won't have problems with the low-end torque myth! Think about physics for a second and the fact that you have two Doritos that weigh several pounds moving around add idol with more potential energy than any idling 4-cylinder. You just have to think about it and you'll understand. We also have an 85 FB with a 12a and all Atkins aviation inside. Tokico 5-way adjustable illumina all around. The FC is terrifyingly capable of producing grip and in roads as twisty as the dragon or the pig trail in Arkansas it won't break loose. The second generation RX7 and Supra are probably the most overlooked and best handling of the two. You're not doing much of anything with that solid rear end in the FB and the FC is a scalpel that unless you are capable it will make the Porsche Widowmaker look like a joke! The best part of all is having a full ceramic wrapped header with functional 6 ports! All you have to do is keep the smog pump on and tap off a vacuum from it and the RPM opens it nearly identical to the stock setup😂😂😂 Oh and they're both red with gray interiors the holy Grail of the time. That blue is the second best interior color!

This is so damn cool. The FC is my favorite body style. I feel like im in a weird minority here but for some reason if you debadge this and a MK3 Toyota Supra and park them next to each with both not running I'd have a hard time telling the difference cause the bodies look very similar. But regardless i love the FC. Favorite RX7 though the rotory aspect is a whole nother animal that I'm not sure I'd be down to deal with. And im not a fan of swapping in engines that never belonged inside in the first place or isn't the same brand.
I do wonder sometimes if I should ask someone like TDiB or Doug D. to review good condition stock 5MT Turbo II FC before I do any substantial mods to it like coil overs, chassis stiffening, and power upgrades. Maybe if I lived in the Georgiana's or California. Although, I'm not sure if they would even be interested in reviewing my car. It is just an 80's Mazda to most people after all.
I love those cars I use it in my main Toyko Xtream Racing games and there easy to tuned. I used to own a 89 model when I found it through my friends family down the house abandoned and bought it for $200...
I hope to have my 87 Turbo II (pretty much full) restoration back in driving condition in the next few years. I keep coming across FC videos and it makes me want to get it done faster but i know to do it faster means cutting corners.
I would love to own an FC. Preferably a T2 but to find a rust free one is like finding a unicorn. Atleast here in Canada. And if it's clean people wants your first born son for it
The FC was never really raced for a reason. It's hefty by RX-7 standards - having said that - 20B'd they make for a radical cruiser Corvette of the period alternative.

There is a wealth of knowledge that Angel Motorsports possesses and sadly never use it on customer cars. After hearing some of the horrible things they've done with customer cars I do not believe they should have a business or any kind of rep
