Would be much cheaper to get the missing part from Renault Mexico, they sell them since 2016. Mostly used as a cop car in dense urban areas, like downtown where many of the streets have a europe-like layout and dimensions. After all Mexico was a European colony for more than 300 years..
In Europe you can order 3rd party windows that fit on the door, for a little more protection. The green sticker allowed this car to drive in an environmental protection zone in Germany. I wish you lots of fun with it.
I'm sad to hear that Nimbus folded. I have reservations with them and with Arcimoto. It seems like America only has an appetite for e-bikes and large BEVs in SUV or truck form. As an urbanist, I strongly support the e-bike momentum (I commute with one), but I really love Twizy-esque vehicles. We need safe-for-everyone bike infrastructure for people to feel comfortable to commute/do errands on e-bikes.
I live in Central Minnesota. When the weather allows I use my Segway Ninebot Scooter to get to work...but in the winter that's completely out of the question (right now it's -2F and there's snow and ice everywhere). I'd really like to have something small and electric for winter commuting.
The late Stirling Craufurd Moss (Moses) (17 September 1929 - 12 April 2020) had a Twizzy as a "Daily Driver". He replaced his last Smart ForTwo with a Renault Twizy
Nissan once brought these to the US badged as the scoot quad (in partnership with a scooter company I think). Maybe you could find a way to register it as one of those or use parts from one to convert thinks like lighting to us legal and go through the federalization process.
Love this car :D too bad its expensive in Sweden at around 12-13k USD. I see that there are two versions, one is limited at 45 kmh needing no drivers license (in france atleast) and one caped at around 80 (if you ever reach that speed) that needs a driver license. If the front was just a bit better looking :) back looks cool
In France you just need to be 14 years old to drive it, but it is not allowed of freeways. Anyway, cities are limited to 50 km/h and even more and more 30 km/h so the Renault Twizy top speed (45 km/h) is fine. Sadly, it is not anymore produced, the Citroen Ami is a good alternative (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-w9QdRGT3Vvs.html), maybe a bit less fun but with windows !
