Focused fire reads: 2 tau empire units from your army that have not been selected to shoot this phase and one enemy unit. Until the end of the phase, each time a model in either of your units makes an attack, it can only target that enemy unit (and only if it is an eligible target for that attack), and when resolving that attack, improve the Armour Penetration characteristic by 1. So you can target your riptide and any other unit you want with Focused Fire. They dont have to both be able to attack that target, just that if they attack, it must be at that target. You could target your riptide and a unit in reserves if you wanted (a farsight unit, if you were feeling extra cheeky)

One of the fastest ways to increase the professionalism of an oral presentation is to remove the umms. You probably (like most of us) are completely unaware of just how much you say um.
