Hold on.......so the hiring process takes months, and then they work the new employees 6 days a week for 12+ hours, they advertise $21 starting wage but it ends up at $18.......so be aware,

That’s normal. So expect to work for it to reap the benefits when converting to career (Regular).

True daht. I started off as a casual carrier/clerk at $5hr. for delivery & $5.50hr plus night differential pay for clerk in April 1993 then was converted to a transitional letter carrier in a neighboring county in September 1993 at $12.08hr. plus limited benefits until I was separated in June 98 & then their hiring off the register made me a career employee in August 1998.... yes, iI become weak minded and was forced into an early retirement in 2007-2009. I was told thta it is what it is

I wouldn't call it a "career," (it's kinda like social security: for those who got in early, they'll get a fixed income upon retirement that probably won't cover rising inflation costs, but for everyone else, the job no longer exists) but we do need more people here and the COLA (cost of living adjustment) makes it the highest paying hourly job I've found on the island!

That’s not accurate to say. The FERS pension, which the fixed income you speak of, increased based on the CPI inflation semi-annually. So it literally keeps up perfectly with inflation.

I think they need to Hire some more people to work at the Postal Service so that way when someone mail's some letter's like I do like everytime when I mail a letter to a place where I want to my letter to go like to a police station of Local Law Enforcement it just takes forever to make it there.

Well, I'm retired (since November 2007) from the usps here in Texas. I was hired through the Dallas/Ft. Worth Southwest District.... it was physically demanding work but people also have to have a strong mind cos "(if a person working in Wall Street decides to jump off thta bridge, are y'all jus gonna follow"????
