UE has upped their game over the few years its been out. ive own both the UE and JBL and i can say both are the best bang for your buck speakers. just gotta decide what style you like
This speaker may seem like a good purchase... and if you only care about sound it's fine. But UE did some really weird things here. - PartyUp is not compatible with this speaker, and it can only Double Up with another Wonderboom. The rest of the lineup can Double Up with each other but for some reason this one just doesn't. - If you're thinking "they could just add it later with a software update," WRONG. There's no app for this one, and again, the rest of the lineup has one. This means you're losing out on remote on/off, an equalizer, an alarm, and the ability to update the software. All of this can be done on the cheaper UE Roll 2... why isn't it available on this? If you don't care about any of this, then go ahead, buy it. But you'll be disappointed at the fact that a cheaper speaker has more features. Source: UE website support page
Charlie D It is good for people to be aware of all of that. But UE focused purely on the amount of sound they could put in a small portable speaker this time, and really added a lot of bass too. Unfortunately, it sometimes gets a bit staticky in the mids when I play mine louder, but the loudness is pretty impressive for its size and the inclusion of an actual button to pause and skip tracks is really all I felt was sorely missing on the other speakers in their lineup. It also lacks an aux-in port, which I've only tried using once on any of my portable speakers I've had, and I won't really miss it on a $100 bluetooth speaker. So I'm trying out a Wonderboom right now, and I might miss those tech features, but the focus on 360° sound so that it doesn't point up like the UE Roll or only one direction if you lean it on something, and the boost in loudness and especially bass makes this speaker worth the money if you can't go for a JBL Charge 3 (least portable portable speaker out there) or UE Boom 2. Otherwise, if you really want tech features then the JBL Flip 3 (on sale) or Flip 4 or UE Roll 2 is better.
Look, that's really not that important for the average consumer, I don't think anybody will use more than 2 of these or have more than 2, and it isn't meant to be a "let's get more and party" speaker.
Can the Wonderboom be playing while it's charging for continuous uninterrupted use, or does the charging cord need to be detached for the speaker to operate?
Only annoying thing is when connecting it to my phone and when someone else want to connect it, I need to reset the speaker every time and then connect it again
CNET when are you guys actually going to test the real battery life instead of just reading off the label, the wonderbooms battery life is about 5 hours FYI.
If I'm streaming music through Spotify or RU-vid and hit the built in skip button on the top of the speaker, will it still skip onto the next song? Or does the skip function only work if you're playing downloaded music from your phone?
Such agreat speakers but there is one problem my speaker is written on the top of it ( ulti mate ears ) while in all the vedios,pictures and online stores is written ( ue ) the logo and the button even on the bottom of my box on the black part written with alot of languages ... But it sounds really great and high the bass is clear .. I want to know if my speaker is fake or not ..NEED HELP !!!
Thats is one ugly pice of tech. Also, whats with the cross. Could have done something else with the placements so that it dont look like a holy hand grenade.
