We were taught about the parliament in a citizenship lesson in Year 8 but that lesson was pretty bad. All that we saw was literally just politicians shouting at each other and instead of actually discussing stuff with the other members of parliament, it was mostly Theresa May and someone else whose name I can't remember arguing about their own plans for the UK like wtf

My parents never brainwashed me to HATE CONS and LOVE LABOUR. It is me who has been seeing many drastic changes throughout my life and when compare, it gives me satisfaction to live under Labour Umbrella than to live under technical oppressions of blood-sucking Conservatives. In the past I voted Cons, but learnt my lessons, as none of the pledges they could fulfill, in contrary, they did exactly opposite what they promised to do.

It is a democracy, not a game of heads and tails. People vote for the government they wish to have, and if that happens to be the Conservatives, then you will have a conservative government until the time that the people no longer want that. Labour were in power from 1997 to 2010 - that's 13 years. Conservatives have only been in power for 7 years.

I'm going to vote Labour as I'm a working class guy and agree with there policy's to a point. Also my old man use to vote Labour, so it's kind of a tradition in my family. The only time I voted for Conservatives was once previously and that was because Labour messed up big time under the so called leadership of Tony Blair who lied to the British public about the Iraq war and the immigration issue to. I believe he is responsible for the current sad state of affairs in the world and especially the UK. Only recently he won £697 k as prize money for the noble prize peace award, which is F.....g unbelievable. In my opinion he is a war criminal and should be locked away for killing millions of innocent women and children. He is the biggest tyrant going, he is making more money now then being prime minister, as he is funded by the Zionists who want to take control of the world. Also he is the ambassador to Israel which proves my point, he is one evil guy and has got away with everything from deception/lies to mass murder. However I have met Mr.Corby and I have full faith in him and the party this time around, he seems like a nice chap, only time will tell whoever wins. Good luck with voting.

So all that matters in this video is the first half minute. Each of the 650 constituencies elect an MP. Having half or more of Parliament guarantees a PM win. Now, because each MP needs only half (plus one) votes to win their constituency, a PM technically needs 25% of the total vote to win.

@@benz4399 650 constituencies. You need 50% to win, which is half of 650, which is 325. To win each constituency, an MP needs half of the vote. Meaning half of the people in 325 constituencies. Work that out. Now obviously, each area has varying population sizes but the theory stands.

So let's sum up the Election in a nutshell. So the Conservatives won...but lost ...Labour lost ....but won....the SNP won and lost in Scotland but still won and the conservatives won in Scotland but lost.. . The government was Tory but now can't be even tho it is still and they need to make some Irish chaps Tory so they can be in charge even tho they were and still are... UKIP lost but because of Brexit they already won ...The independents won but didn't win because they don't have a party, so they lost but are now MP's so they won ... The winner ( May ) is being told to resign because she didn't win and she won't because she won even tho she lost... Easy :D

Will spending more on (investing for) the many, nationalising and increasing tax on the rich reduce our deficit, or does austerity, privatisation and encouraged capitalism reduce our deficit? Wigglly Wagger To be fair I'm unlikely to find an actual honest answer with reasoning in most places when it involves politics. My reading thus far on economic theory has suggested gov spending worsens GDP, that doesnt consider ethics and various standards of living though. I asked the question purely for opinions on the subject, i feel it a critical point that has been given alot less attention than it deserves, especially considering Brexit.

the voting system I think is messed up. instead of voting for who you want to win, your vote can be influenced by the area you live in. if you vote labour yet there are two other parties that have more support your vote has no influence on the end result whatsoever and you could feel like your opinion isn't heard. Why don't they just use the exact percentages in votes as it shows a more accurate view of what the country wants. If this system was implemented the American election would have gone completely the other way with Hillary Clinton getting a larger amount of votes but ultimately being defeated. this could all surely mean that instead of taking one seat per area based off of what party gets the most votes ( bearing in mind it might not be a majority) it would be wiser to take the individual votes leading to a more accurate outcome.

Can anyone give feedback on the following : If you want a communist anti democratic society vote Labour or Lib If you do not want that but you do not want Tory then vote Brexit Party If you are conservative Brexiteer and feel betrayed vote Brexit Party. If you are a Remainer Tory that get more out of EU than Democracy or an independent Britain then voting Labour/Lib is a better option to secure what you want. If you are a Remainer Conservative that is patriotic democratic and party proud voting Conservative won't save you against the Labour/Lib threat. But votind Brexit Party will give Conservatives time to regroup over 5 years and get connected to their non feudal membership. Feedback on this please
@joewood5647

Let me try and wake you up to the truth about elections , if that of course is possible. I have only voted once in my life for a political party twice more , one not to join the Common market, and two the leave the EU. The once I voted for a political party was way back in the 70s when I was a young lad, because I didn't know much about what was going on in the world, I followed my elders and voted Labour, because I came from a working-class family and all the adults voted Labour, because the Labour Party was for the working British people. which is a laugh today isn't it. Labour, for the British working people, what was it,? If Labour gets into power, the first thing Labour will do is to protect the EU citizens working and living in the UK, the second thing the Labour Party will do, is to protect the right of businesses to get there skilled cheap labour from abroad so they don't have to invest in British workers. Labour Party for the many immigrants not the few British. I will pass on to you what I learnt them many years ago, and see if I can drag you out of that brainwashed state you are in and drag you into the world of reality. Have you ever thought why it does matter who gets into power they are not capable of solving one single problem and societies just gets worse and worse. this is why. You have multiple of political parties all claiming that it is their policies that will give you and your children a future, so vote for them.. Now to be different from one another and to give society a different outlook, then your policies must be based on a different system from your rivals, if it is not then you're going in the same direction. Are you with me? Every political party today based their policies on the same system, they call it economic growth, other words meaning to endlessly multiply, to endlessly expand until you have destroyed everything and hope the world doesn't collapse in your lifetime. . that's what they're talking about when they talk about economic growth, to self-destruct. through overpopulation. So how can the political parties that exist today claim they are different from one another, the only difference is the way they get to the same spot. I will put it as simple as possible. Let's say you have five political parties based in London, all their policies are based on going to Scotland, 1) Says vote for me, I am flying up to Scotland. 2) Says vote for me, I'm driving up to Scotland. 3) Says vote for me, I'm taking the train up to Scotland. 4) Says vote for me. I'm cycling up to Scotland. 5) Says vote for me, I'm sailing up the cost to Scotland. But it doesn't matter who you vote for you will end up in Scotland. The same place where every other political party is heading. That's why it does matter who you get into power they can't solve nothing, because there policies are based on the same system a system of endless growth on an island, the landmass you live on, the UK is just over 94,000 mi.², that indicates to me I do not live in an endless space , what does it indicate to you specially if you vote. So I understand you can't have endless growth without destroying your own environment. Another thing how can you have multiple political parties when realistically there is only two systems you can based your policies on. 1) An insane system where you think you can endlessly put something into something that is not endless. 2) Understanding that you do not live in an endless space ,so your policies are based on stabilisation so you don't just mindlessly multiply and destroy everything including yourself. So how can they be so many political parties when in reality there is only two systems you can base your policies on, one of self-destruction and the other is a policy that will give you a genuine future and your children. Have I woken you up or are you that brainwashed you will believe anything that these people tell you. as long as you do not have to change your selfish and greedy lives. to create a better society and world to live in for you and your children.
@joewood5647

It's not important how a person writes or whether they can spell or use proper grammar what is important is what they are saying. which the society I live in is only interested in how a person speaks write or dresses, it seems people have to meet a certain criteria to be able to be acceptable within society to fit in to be political correct. otherwise they are discriminated against looked down upon and become outcast from society and by doing that they miss vital information that could change for the better the whole of their society that they live in. I understand what you're saying totally, I acknowledge my flaws and I accept them. for I am my own biggest critic. but I am not going to change the way I write and think to fit in to society little rule book. so I can be one of the in crowd. I don't want to be one of the in crowd I want to stand out to be different I want and like being a individual, an independent person, just like I want the UK to become independent, not fitting into anyone's little rule book. Society can either accept me as I am all they can choose not to bother replying to me, it's a free world, it is your free choice nobody is forcing you to reply to me remember that. I am writing, I'm not expecting anybody to write back to me. I am not forcing anybody to write back to me, all I am doing is writing what I think in my way which I have a right to do. if it is not acceptable to you or comes up to your standard then I am sorry but I am not going to change, so please don't reply to me if you do that then you have solved the problem, so in future if anything that is written by Joe Wood please ignore. Do not fine fault with people until you are found fault with yourself first.

I'm aware the conservatives haven't met their number in the past however at least they're aiming for a number which gives me great hope it will at least fall instead of increasing. Under Corbyn he said immigration can rise witch will lead to a strain on public services and when that happens more of our tax money will have to be spewed into our public services time and time again.

Can't we just add up all the votes across the country instead of doing it regionally? Surely it would be much more fair.

No Name you maybe want to chill? You know nothing about him. How about Labour become fiscally responsible with sound funding proposals that will reduce the deficit? That way those of us who care about the budget can feel secure voting for Labour. Currently we're being asked do we want a higher deficit and a lot more debt or functioning public services and decent welfare. Can't blame anyone for opting for the prior. So don't call them a tosser you twat

There are much better ways of servicing the debt than cutting funding to the NHS, police force, schools and social care. Like switching to sovereign money system or land value tax.

Vote labour. Because fighting terrorism with online censorship and surveillance of your own people is both inefficient and unethical.

So let me get this straight? A leader of a party that was allies and friends with terrorists the IRA and also a huge sympathizer and denier of Islamic extremism is the best person to have as our PM!? Also surveillance of your own people is one of the best ways to fight terrorism because you know whats going on and who's up to what. many more terrorist attacks would have happened if we were not doing surveillance and if we did it more less of these attacks would happen.
@chloem6609

Yes, because that worked out so well for the US in the wake of 9/11. According to the CIA leaks, the surveillance done post 9/11 has foiled exactly 0 terrorist attacks.

Agreed as far as Islam is concerned. Islam is incompatible with our values because it does not allow compromise. If there can be no compromise there can be no assimilation. We should not have to change our laws and way of living to accommodate someone else's culture.

Hey respect good to see even Labour supporters are waking up to this backward ideology called Islam. If you do not mind me asking because I want to get to the source.Why do you vote for Labour then? Is it because you like Corbyn? Is it because you are sick of the Conservatives? Just I do not see Jeremy Corbyn doing anything about this Islamic problem as the man denies Islamic extremism and wants unlimited immigration which by the way will crash with his plans to rebuild the NHS, better schooling, more houses etc. I myself agree with some Corbyn views but over all I just think he is too dangerous and no offence I think that most of you young people are unaware f how dangerous he is and at the same time I cannot blame you as Conservative are not offering you much of a future either.
