The UK has certainly changed ! I visit woke toilets and take a walk around Crewkerne with Annie answering some of your questions. My mum AKA the youtube sensation also makes a welcome appearance. camera - DJI Pocket 2
A UK unisex tardis toilet review and then a discussion about it with mum. This is peak James content. 😂 Always love the videos that feature your family.
@James Abroad It's always good to have some toilet content in your back pocket for a rainy day. Seeing the UK toilet sign made me think of the pub toilet sign I sent you... 🤣
Great video James. Personally, I am more Lidl than Waitrose due to the cost difference but both have their pros and cons 👍 All the people who are anti- unisex toilets should probably give a visit to Scandinavia a miss in that case. Personally I don't see what people have against them really. Do they all have segregated toilets at home? 🤔🤔
The price of things nowadays I'll certainly be popping into lidl's more lol. Men tend to hit the target a bit more in their own homes. Couple of guys followed Annie into the communal unisex toilets (changed recently from single sex) at Lyme Regis. I wasn't happy about it, found myself loitering by the sinks scaring a couple of women in the process who also didn't look too happy about it, but I was just looking out for Annie. No urinals so toilets were like shower rooms, certainly wouldn't sit down on them. Why change for the worse. All the best.👍🍺
I'm the same with Australia, every time I return I think... yeah it's cool however, after a few days the place becomes so slow ,backwards and boring, it's then I need Thailand back for the weather, good vibes, food and people.😀
I think a lot of the west is a bit boring even America. Even more organised Asian countries like south Korea , Singapore and Japan have a night life vibrancy. You can find it London but then you have the high cost and higher crime of London
Many years ago I worked in Yeovil and lived in Chardstock. Daily commute through Crewkerne on the A30. Didn't recognise a thing. Hope you enjoy your visit.
Really strange to bump into you in Bridport today. I was just looking at a Thai food vendor's stall in the main street, and was trying to think how to ask in Thai, what tastes the best? I knew I learned how to say it somewhere on RU-vid, then I bumped into you and Annie about 2 minutes later. Then I realised I learned it from your videos before, what a coincidence! Have a safe journey home.
Cheers Joe, I was a bit dazed from charity shop shopping all morning 😁, but great to meet you. I'll have to try that Thai food stall one day. All the best.👍🍺
James it’s so woke now yesterday people from war torn country’s were protesting about the hotels WiFi didn’t work well they said food was good toilets were small in Pimlico . My daughter refused to use the toilet at Sloane Square it for men and woman. And our local swimming baths they broke the dressing rooms and made them all for men and woman my girls didn’t want to go 😂 James £15 😮yes the prices in the uk I bought a melon £9 and in Thailand 35 thai baht lidl is ok they sell Deluxe brand now James it’s absolutely amazing
I'm in Portugal - it's probably less chaotic than Thailand! Our new home is much better than the UK, for us. Friendlier people, more things to do, we enjoy learning the language and new culture. Weather is another consideration for us, the hikes through nature are outstanding and having dolphins in their natural habitat within a few miles from us is a bonus. I couldn't think of any reason to return to the UK - even for a short trip. Glad you're both having a great trip.
Portugal is better value if you're retired and has certain tax advantages if you can gain permanent residency. My uncle moved there to mitigate Britains horrific death duties.
@@jamesabroad8589 Yeah, in fact I went back last year to the UK for 10 months and it works out that I am spending either more or exactly the same on food cost. All these other RU-vidrs saying they can eat on 5USD per day is BS because if you have lived here like me or you for 18 yrs + then you know your not going to eat Thai food everyday on the street for 60 baht+.
Try cooking REAL thai food …What’s your problem?…..u think Waitrose do real thai food!?…..yeah, like u get a proper British Sunday lunch in Pitsanulok!?!?
I left the UK first in 2009, went back for a couple of months in 2014 - not been back since. I'm Scottish and have no intention of ever going back. Scotland has lost it's mind, I'm sure you feel same about England.
Hey James, really love all your videos as I will soon be moving to Thailand, but could you do me a favor and when you’re walking with your daughter on the road you should be walking on the roadside not your daughter 😉🫡🤗 I have a daughter of similar age and I couldn’t imagine my life without her cheers mate. Keep doing what you’re doing. Much love from the USA.
Annie seems a little bit more fluid in Thailand than over in the U.K.. That's no surprise, given the west, people are less reserved, and that has often caught my Thai student peers off-guard. That was my personal experience in a US college. It turned out they then were a lot quieter in class, and I also got questions from American friends about the behavioral difference. I just tell them we've got cultural nuances specific to us Thais. Waitrose is so clean. Isles are huge compared to the supermarkets here in BKK. And you're right, everyone working in Waitrose are polite. A smile a day keeps us healthy for sure 😊.
Nice Video James Thanks! Couple of Q's if I may.....I am curious does Annie have any desire to live full time in the UK or any country other than Thailand? I think you nailed it when you said all very nice but boring. My wife & I agree! Having lived in CM & now back in Hawaii we talk daily about just moving back. Also your mom is so sweet & lovely. Does she have family there to keep her company when your gone? Does she ever consider also moving to Thailand? Thanks again for a great video!
@@jamesabroad8589 I'm glad to hear your mom has family & friends there! Also I had a hunch Annie would prefer Thailand. As you said the western world is neat clean organized etc but for some reason just not very exciting/alive 🙂
I enjoyed that James and great to see your mother in great form. I miss Aldi and Lidil for their cheap wine and it was nearly always great Quilty. I dont miss home but yes friends I do miss and working as stressful as it was I really miss. Looking forward to the next episode .
Nice video James, good to see a bit of ‘back home’, aldi and Lidl in my experience are good for their prices but wherever I shop in one they never seem to have enough staff on the checkouts which causes long delays in getting checked out with your shopping, good that your daughter has two passports it’s definitely going to help her if she decides to travel anywhere as she won’t need to do visa applications, well, another well put together video look forward to more
I love charity shops an interesting and diverse kind of shopping different to the norm . These days not always cheap like it use to be . The proceeds helping the needy and no government tax to be paid , as is the case on new items .
Depends if you're a man or woman I suppose. Always feel sorry for ladies having to use toilets on the airplane sharing with us blokes. Why fix it if it isn't broke.👍
