I'm a Honda boi but after driving my friend's Abarth for a few days straight, I'm a believer. So much difference between waiting on VTEC to hit and the boost coming in at 3K.
So i heard this monster was stolen. After all that hard work & money to build such a thing too. Somebody please tell me it was recovered! I really feel for the owner man, seriously i do.

That’s insane! I’m currently working on a budget build Ford Escort ZX2, naturally aspirated, 5 Speed, that’ll push 142-150HP @ 2,360lbs as a daily driver. Definitely getting an Abarth 500 this summer and throwing the Phase I tune from Eurocomplusion on it.

My brother used to work for roger Clark porsche in the 80's in narborough , leicestershire. RC bought 2 metro6r4 unused from the factory when group B was banned. He took one out the workshop and ripped it up and down the road....straight rally car.....it was a car from hell

Its an interesting project but I wouldnt do it with a convertible just for the fact that the roll cage is not as firm as a roll cage in a hard roof car.
looks cool with no front reg, is there anyway to go about removing the front reg and be legal? seen some people put it in the window. Is this ok? Car looks aesome. Mine is always in the garage with problems Fix It Again Tomorrow :(

@@scotta9114 I'd still have mine if it had passed emissions here in Illinoyed. It had a couple "niggles" like a sticking shifter and random limpmode once a summer but the issue went away with the CEL and no more problems. My car was modded but nothing too serious, basic bolt ons including 500 Madness upgraded piggy-back, ATM FMIC, GFB DV, MPx axle-back, EC V2 SRI, regular oil changes as well as plug chages every 25K. I looked forward to getting into my car everydsy. Right before I traded it in I bought a set of white 1552 Intergrales and planned on adding Martini Racing livery to it but just a little, I miss that car everyday.
@@klasseact6663 - Bought my Abarth used. Woman owned it and traded it in for a Chevy Tahoe. Right after I bought it, got misfires on cylinder 1. Figured out the Multi Air unit had failed. Dealer want close to $2K to replace it. Bought a used one from a wrecking yard for $100. Installed myself and all good. Spent another $75 in miscellaneous parts. Also bought Alfa 4C coils. Wish I had some type of ECU upgrade for more power and backfires. My Car refuses to backfire. One I test drove popped easily.
The key is the engine alone can just handle 240 horsepower without engine modification . what a little monster . mine is 2012 fist generation of Abarth in Canada .

@@Nobody-dc8dp i had a honda ep3 type-r with a 5.45 shorter final drive. With 255hp at the end of each curve i had more aceleration capacity than old bmw m3s and megane turbos and mini cooper turbos. My 6th gear at 8800 rpms cuted at 240km/h. I bet this fiat at the end of 5th gear, at about 6500 goes about 260km/h. Gearbox is as important as the engine. Why do you want 500hp if your gearbox can go to 400 km/h? I still havent tracked my current car, honda s2000, but i also have a shorter final drive (cuts 6th at 255 km/h at 9200 rpms), but with shorter rear axle, 255 tires and lsd i can allready sense its alot of fun
