Most would agree that Jonah Lomu is the greatest rugby player of all time (with maybe Bryan Habana a close second), but Kolbe is definitely the best current winger ps. Kolbe's cousin is Wayde van Niekerk, the guy who broke Michael Johnson's 400m world record at the Olympics.

Jonah was a professional athlete in an amature era. He is now the baseline for the majority of the professional players

Lomu still never scored against South Africa. While yes, he was great, in the amatuer era, backline players of his size were an anomaly rather than the norm. Alot of what made him so great, was just how big he was compared to others around him while still being mobile, something that has now become stock standard with professionalism in the sport. There were alot of players in the 90s who had just as much, if not more impact on the sport than Lomu in reality.

Lomu was the first super start but not the best ever wingers out there. Because he retired early his legend lived longer. A lot of players would now have caught him up for power and pace. I mean they would have more chance handling him then Tony underwood at 13 stone would have done. To me Rokocoko , sitivatu, Rupini cucau all beat Kolbe and Lomu. Cacau would have been the best ever had he not discovered fried chicken. He was all out pace not only acceleration but top end speed and power and and eye for a chip through. It all in the eye of the beholder though isn't it.

@@sebvanp6482 This is shocking but two days before Inga the winger died another very famous player died and went under the radar. Joeli Vidiri the other aucklnd blues winger to lomu. All big powerful islanders all around the same era as each other and the 4 SA players who have died in the 1995 rwc winners team. very odd.

My favourite Cheslin Kolbe moment is the one where he falls on his arse and gets up and beats a whole team to score. Not the best of all time. That would be Jonah Lomu, but Kolbe is for sure the best winger still playing today.

I’d argue Dupunt, Lukhanyo Am, and Kolisi are above him. Maybe even Michael Hooper with how good he was towards the end of last year.

If koble loses form this season and goes back to his average proformances like when he was in stormers, it means he was living off that toulouse form.. his break through and everything started from toulouse.. now he's starting to look regular and over priced at toulon atm.. already 4 caps toulon no break through performance or a single try at least
