Hey girly! Welcome to the book club 🌸 Just wanted to pop in and say that don't stress over what's intellectually acknowledged and what's not. Highlight the line that makes you laugh, a quote you love or a sassy line you plan on using later. Simply enjoy and don't worry we're enjoying right alongside you 💛
I’m soooo happy you literally living the same phases as me throughout your vlogs, from your down phase, to when you picking up into routines and now obsessing over reading ❤❤❤ twinning
I recommend getting a kindle or any ereader and also checking out local libraries! Both are good ways to save money and avoid overconsumption while supporting the authors, especially if you like to read a lot. 😊
I've been a reader for years but I never understood how a kindle was supposed to help you save. You still have to buy the book on there right? And what if you don't like a lot of the KU books 😭
@@katgreer6113 in the US at least, it’s cheaper to buy the kindle version of books on Amazon compared to the physical copy. Unless you thrift books, this is especially true if you buy books in bookstores like waterstones, blackwells, barnes and nobles, or even target. The price of physical books have increased dramatically these past years so buying ebooks is just cheaper and more efficient. However, no judgement if you just want a physical copy, I understand the joy in looking at a nice bookshelf :)
@@katgreer6113 yes but buying kindle ebooks on Amazon is much more cheaper than buying physical books on that website or even at regular bookstores like Barnes and Nobles or Blackwells.
I would absolutely agree with you if she was an avid reader who knew what she liked but she has said she is just starting her reading journey which likely means many DNFs and on a Kindle those would just be overconsumption with no recycling ability where as with physical books she can give them away, Donate Them, Sell them or Trade them for other books (at some bookshops) it’s far more responsible then a kindle which would just be a waste of money
not sure if you're interested or have one already but making a GoodReads is a great way to keep track of the books you read, get recommendations based off what you like, follow other people's reading journeys and we could potentially follow yours there as well! x
I'm so here for this new era of yours!! This year also brought me back into reading books (all thanks to Throne of Glass) and I'm not going back! Your book reading videos make me feel I'm not alone starting this ride ❤️ Can't wait to watch more of these!!
omgg i am so happy i came across your channel!! this is the first video ive ever watched and im so excited to watch more!! tbh you remind me sm of myself and you seem so cool so ill def be subscribing from now on!! this vid is so good :)
you should read the Caraval triology before reading Once Upon a Broken Heart!!! would highly recommend since Caraval takes place before Once Upon a Broken Heart
Few recs: legends of thezmarr series, the witch collector series, kingdom of lies series, the bridge kingdom, these hollow vows, the ever king, when the moon hatched and serpent of the wings and night are all amazing. You must read!!!
I also wouldn’t read the once upon a broken heart series until after the caraval series or you’ll get spoilers. You won’t understand what’s going on in the once upon a broken heart series without reading the caraval series first so please do that! Also a novella just came out for powerless between the first and second books it’s in another characters point of view. I recommend you read that before the second book.
Girlie, awesome covers and reviews are how I choose my books, and it has done me good all these years :D So do not worry about an old saying. That is mostly for people lol
Where can get in the US the original covers for all the magnolia parks series so sad they updated covers to ugly looking covers 😢the original covers like ones you have are absolutely stunning!!!
Oh my goodness I’m so happy you picked up POWERLESS by Lauren Robert’s, but it destroyed me at the end and will definitely leave you wanting the next book coming out in July! I also read Check and Mate by Ali Hazelwoood, and it’s a cute little romance with a tiny bit of spice that you would definitely be able to read in a day! Have fun reading!🩷🩷
I would recommend anything by Marissa Meyer, V.E. Schwab, Brandon Sanderson, Assistant to the Villain, This woven kingdom series, and a thousand pieces of toy series. All do these are amazing and the authors I mentioned are my favorite! I hope if you try these you like them!
This convinced me to go to bookstore nearby and buy few books as well…❤ tho my room looks messy enough so i have an empty shelf on one side of my wardrobe so i made an whole sliding lib there still meed to fill few shelfs
it hurts me that new readers won't ever truly feel the feeling you get as a young child, walking through a bookstore and finding unique books, not being influenced by others to read brainless, bad written books from booktok.
ONE BOOK THAT IS A MUST READ IS SILENT PATIENT BY ALEX MICHAELIDES(idk how to spell the last name) IT IS THE BOOK THAT GOT ME OUT OF A 2 YEAR READING SLUMP I CANT RECOMMEND THIS BOOK ENOUGH
Do me a favor...ignore every comment with the word overconsumption. 1. I like your videos. They are fun. 2. I've bought more books, yarn, beads, and movies in one go than you have here. (I think you have like 7) 3. Key board trolls... they need a healthier hobby. Happy reading! 🥰
Such a cozy video! If you loved Powerless (like me), you should definitely pick up the new novella about Adena called Powerful. It just came out a few days ago. I loved it! And camt wait for Reckless in July 😍🥵
Random but can you tell me the secret to how you keep your cats from tearing up your couches 🤣 I only have one and I can’t keep her from scratching them 🥴
yayyy so excited for more people to enjoy reading! :) if you enjoy fantasy, the falling kingdoms series by Morgan Rhodes is what got me back into reading
Hi this is really random but do you know what type of cat your ginger cat is, my cat is my best buddy and for all of his life and he is gorgeous like yours and I haven't known what breed he is as he was a stray when we found him, but he looks almost identical to your cat!
I am so glad you have gotten obsessed with reading! I recommend A Touch of Darkness. It is a greek mythology modern retelling (I have never though about reading or had an interest in reading Greek mythology but LOVEDDD this series). If you haven't already read Pachinko I defnitely recommend as well as How We Disappeared. I LOVED both of these, Pachinko is now probably my favourite book.
Ok i just have to say wtf is up with the hate comments my god I literally found your channel yesterday and i love your vids they’re so cute ! Please ignore them cause what the actual fk is up their asss
Powerless was so good!!! If you like fourth wing and powerless you might also like Fear the Flames by Olivia Rose Darling that gets traditionally published in September. I’m reading it right now and it has similar vibes. And powerless has a novella coming out tomorrow April 30 called powerful. Can’t wait!!
Please read caraval before you read once upon a broken heart! OUABH will spoil aspects from caraval. Caraval contains TONS of romance (especially the last 2 books) and is heavy on the drama/ politics aspects of it you talked about. Caraval is also an amazing series and will definetly not dissapoint if you like romance
I started reading Magnolia Parks after you showed it in your haul and the book made me so frustrated at the end omg. I’ve also read Daisy Haites but don’t rate it - Magnolia Parks was better imo
@@NonsenseTV13 this girl is Australian and lives in my state. There is an abundance of second hand book shops or libraries where we live. We don’t have large book chains like Barnes and Noble in Australia
cause of curiosity? sometimes i also get intrigued by other books even if they're not my usual genre. it's not bad to try. she might enjoy it so at least she already has more romance books lined up on her tbr 😊
I LOVE BOOKISH VLOGS!! pls dont listen to the negative comments lmao the book community is rly the sweetest! i hope u feel more encouraged to post book content cause there's a whole audience who enjoys that 🥹
can we please stop glorifying overconsumption? there’s a huge difference between curating your book collection overtime than just mass buying hundreds of books for the sake of the “aesthetic”
Some people just enjoy buying and collecting books and have the money to do so. Let people live. Life is tough enough and if it brings her joy, so what? Plus she’s supporting authors.
I'd read Caraval before OUABH because Jacks's romance is explained in Caraval and they keep refrencing it in OUABH and is sort of a big plot point. He lies to Eva about certain things and you wouldn’t know what it was without Caraval. 😭 Some ppl read it AFTER OUABH but its not as fun since the entire series is spoiled anyway.
Not sure if you've already read it but I love The Only One Left by Riley Sager. It's a thriller, I'm not sure if you're into that but I absolutely loved it. And The Naturals series, those are such easy and entertaining reads.
If you starting to like romance but not too much but good plot and not super contemporary, pls read lesson in chemistry this is an absolute must have in any library
HEY!!!! For the Once a broken heart series i HIGHLY suggest you read the Caraval trilogy first!!! it's in the same universe and it gives you better understanding! but you can still read them without checking out Caraval if you want to ! :)
Before you read ouabh, please read canrval (forgot how to spell it) first. As so many people say to read it first. I think maybe it’s coz it has the same characters in it
Wow, those books really look so interesting (those in the final part of the video), I'm really curious about them! I hope they also come out in Italian 😍
Me with acotar those books changed my life!! I read max 7 books last year but now on book 62 and I only picked up my first book in Feb 😅 book girlies for the win!
I also read mainly fantasy/Romantasy and could recommend a load of books that give similar vibes to fourth wing if you’re ever looking for similar reads!!!
