Fixing some saggy rear springs and blown shocks. I replace my 25 year old stock suspension with front springs from a 2001-2005 Tundra TRD and bilstein 5100 shocks for the same truck. Then in the rear I use the 2001 tundra bilstein 5100's with a pair of Old Man Emu (OME) 890's I expect this lift to provide 1-2 inches.. but we'll see what we get at the end.
Parts used in this video are:
Front Left(driver) spring: 48131-AF090
Front Right(pass.) spring: 48131-AF100
Rear Springs: OME 890
Front Shocks (x2): Bilstein 5100 24-261425
Rear Shocks (x2): Bilstein 5100 24-100144
Strut Top hat bushing(x2): Monroe 907926
Rear shock bushing: Energy Suspension 9.8140G (G for black/R for red)
endlinks (x2): any 90-95 4runner rear swaybar endlink

Just use STOCK Tundra parts. They are EXACTLY the same as 4runner except 2 1/2 inches longer. Instant 2 1/2 inch lift you can buy at any auto parts store for MUCH less.

@gabrielpalacios624 6 дней назад
Silly question but what gen/year of tundra would they come from? Any extra add ons to make it fit onto the 4runner?

@@gabrielpalacios624my Guess would be 1st gen because 3rd gen 4Runners share a lot of parts with 1st gen tundras

@@jacobjacinto8064 the first gens are 2000-2006 I believe. I’m planning on doing a tundra break swap pretty soon. But I’m not sure if everything are direct swap. I would assume so because the entire knuckle in the front is the same. I just bought Bilstein 5100s and Old man emu 883s and 891s for a 2.5” lift. It’s a bit more expensive but from my research it’s worth paying more for nicer shocks and springs

The swaybar is the support the body from rolling left to right. The panhard bar is what should be parallel to the vehicle but angles as you as lift, which should be corrected

I have a very similar setup, been running it for years now. I have 5100's all around with FJ Cruiser coils in the front and Dobinsons C59-137V coils in the rear.

I saw the dobinson's as I was shopping but didn't see much about them online. How's the ride feel?

I’m doing a similar lift but going with 6112s in front with 3 inch toy tec rear springs and long travel 5100s in rear. As far as I know, no one has ever done this lift. Wish me luck.

Just to let you know i wouldnt put your jackstands like that. Because they will slide off the frame. Turn them so the frame fits in the notch in the stand.

You're absolutely right! Good catch! I had to go back and check in the video. I did the other 3 the right way and zoomed in and filmed doing it the wrong way.

@@stusch1027 yeah man. You can put them like that but only under the rear control arms on the frame.

Hello, I am a subscriber from Korea. Recently, I'm really into 4Runner, so I am considering importing one because we don't have it in Korea. My biggest concern is how to find a good car remotely. Could you recommend a good way to find a car remotely?
@coffeecola433
@coffeecola433 2 месяца назад
Would you also recommend a budget for the 4Runner 3rd gen? Actually, I don't really care about the interior or exterior; I just need a car that operates well technically.
@stusch1027
@stusch1027 2 месяца назад
I really don't have any experience with importing. If you're looking over here online and find something you like, you could look for a local company (same city and state) that does pre-purchase inspections and they should be able to verify the car is good. Also have them check out the frame to make sure its not rusting out. I would look for a ad that has a many pictures as possible. as for budget, 6-10k USD would get you a good running 4runner, obviously the nicer the interior/ exterior the more it'll cost. When you start talking about actually doing the import, I would guess you need a company local to you that understands the process.

It’s probably easier to get a Hilux surf from Japan than the 4Runner which is the same thing except the Hilux comes in diesel as well as the v6.
@coffeecola433
@coffeecola433 Месяц назад
@Hollowpointz956 Thank you, that is a good idea as well! I have thought about that. But the only concern is that Korea is the right side handle, and Japan is the opposite. I used to drive a car that came from Japan, and there was some inconvenience.

La Toyota 4RUNNER es muy bonita, yo usaría mejor el tamaño de fabrica de la camioneta, esa es mi opinión porque muy alto , no se , no se mira original, yo tengo una Toyota 4RUNNER i yo no la levantaría jamas
