Kim I'm 41 years old and I just got my first KitchenAid mixer for Christmas and I feel like my cooking game is going to the next level! Like goodness how did I survive without this beautiful tool? Honestly is this how a man feels when they get a new expensive power tool? Cuz I feel like I'm in cooking heaven!!!

Welcome to Adulting Jessica when you get to that point in life when a vacume, kitchen aid or something like that excites the heck out of you!! You're gonna love having one. My favorite use of mine is to shredded chicken. Takes like two seconds to shred (boneless) chicken. Just use the plain paddle, not the whisk one or the scraper one. I got mine a few years ago, and I don't know how I survived without it.

If you add a can of Rotel to the rest of the Velveeta cubed and melt it all together you have an amazing cheese dip! Can’t beat it for a football game snack!

@@thewadsquad We add Rotel, a can of Hormel Chili No Beans, and a pound of browned hamburger. It's the best party cheese dip and can be done in the crockpot other than browning the burger.

Add a can of cream of mushroom soup to it and it stays a little easier to dip chips into especially if you are not using a crock pot to keep it in

I’m glad I’m not the only child with childhood holiday memories of eating alcoholic balls with “just a little” alcohol in them! Except at our house it’s bourbon balls! And just like you, my family is not as crazy about them as I am! It’s tradition! Happy New Year!

Umm, I lived on a property that had pecan trees, they need to be properly maintained, but you can have pecan trees in Florida! I don't know about apples but we also had a pear tree and grape Vines! Miss that property, lol

YES you can grow pecan trees in Fl. We had them at my 1st home and yes it was awesome. I never had to buy them. A note for growing it takes awhile to produce and when mature they only produce every other year. But when they do its plenty. We would freeze them and still had enough to share with neighbors. Also kumquat trees are super easy to grow and produce a lot of fruit.

Kim, you grew up eating rum balls, I grew up eating homemade fruit cake that was soaked in bourbon or whiskey! Only one of them didn't use alcohol. My dad made sure they were made by Halloween so they could cure in the fridge until Thanksgiving. Naturally we got to sample!

Those Butter Pecan Cookies are delicious. My grandmother used to make Pecan Crescent Cookies, which is the same recipe as the Snowball Cookies (also known as Russian Tea Cakes and Mexican Wedding Cookies) at Christmas. We never wanted them any other time of year.

I feel like dancing a polka. Last one sounds like an organ that I was ICESCATING RINK. I enjoy your video more than anyone’s and I always go there first and I’m disappointed if there isn’t a new one. No pressure. I know the old kitchen from the new kitchen so I know right away if there’s a substitute. Feel like you’re one of my kind of friends. Fun and free. I’ve been told I march to a different drummer. I talk to myself all day and I talk to myself and sing out loud in my car. By the way, I’m 70. My husband knows when I have watched one of your videos because I make the same facial expressions when I talk. I’m a silly girl but a heck of a lot of fun to be around. Happy new year to you. I grew up in Tampa, Florida and we had pecan trees and Walnut trees. Best pecan is the fresh ones from the tree. They are almost juicy in a way.

Happy New Year!! My aunt lives in Panama City and had pecan trees until Hurricane Michael. So...yes, you can definitely grow pecan trees!! Also....with the remainder of velveeta cheese, cook up some sausage, add a little ketchup, worchestershire sauce, and velveeta....blend together and add a spoonful, onto mini gourmet rye or wheat bread slices and bake for about ten minutes! I also add chopped up pepperoni, to mine! Delicious!

We had 2 lemon/lime trees. One was a verigated lemon. The lemons were striped. The other is a lime tree but they are often yellow. Hubs grew them from seeds. The verigated one just died. It got a fungus. A friend has quite a few citrus trees. She doesn't do a darned thing to them and they are so prolific. Bananas are relatively easy to grow and produce a lot of fruit.

My daughter told me I make too much noise laughing when watching your videos if they're all watching TV. They've asked that I dont watch the Wads when they are watching serious TV! That was my job too!!! We also used chocolate sprinkles. When I had kids we did rum slices using chocolate cookie crumbs instead of graham's. Rolling the mixture into 3 logs and doing one chocolate sprinkles, one rainbow sprinkles, then one rainbow nonpariels and cutting them into to slices

Dorsett Golden, Anna, and Tropic-Sweet apples all grow ok in Florida because they were developed for the tropical conditions of the Deep South. My parents in South Alabama have grown apples for 7 decades. They are great! Also, pecan trees are soooo worth it. My daddy sends me gallons of shelled ones every year. He's THE BEST>

OMG..I have that hand chopper..now! Seems like you had a very good childhood. Mine was mixed. I had great, loving and awesome parents, taught us right, was in church...but... yet it was hard. Mama had a sweet loving soul..but was always having to take meds for depression, alot of times being admitted to a psych ward for long periods of time...It was just hard on us and my dad. He tried. People called him a hermit, never knew what that was then..he was quiet and sweet soul, I could tell it wore on him. It affected my school time. I remember not having clothes washed. I got talked about. I really didn't understand alot. Remember staying with my grandma alot. I remember very good Christmas' just not like making cookies. It humbled me to grow up like that, and then strive to do for my kids, and now grandkids. I want them to have great memories.

We made a date candy growing up, but was slightly different than yours. We added dates, figs, and sometimes prunes. Then we would pulse it ther same send then roll it in shredded coconut with a almond half on it pressed in, or rolled in chopped nuts. So good!!!!

Kim look up the make and model of your stove top.. Then you can look at the details that go around the knobs and maybe.. Do some kind of waterproof print out with a crickut machine and put them around the knobs so you know what the temperature is on each one.. Or maybe take a permanent marker and mark them on their.. If it was me I'd just use my little handheld engraver then permanent marker in marks... If you don't want to replace the stove top these are 3 options.. I had a friend who used nail Polish.. She used red for high Orange for medium high And yellow for low marks

Love to watch you bake. We have similar styles. Snowball cookies were my holiday cookies. Sidenote: It's not just the eggs that can cause you illness, it is uncooked flour. But that's never stopped me from trying my dough. 😀

Texas🤠 has a crap ton of pecan trees....I have one in my yard and it gives the best tasting pecans ever! They're kind of buttery and just delicious! I tell you this to say that I think they'll grow in Florida cuz in Texas it gets as hot as satan's😈 jacuzzi too🥵 so you have a sporting chance right?! Loved your video - and you were thinking of the Pecan Sandies and that chopper thing was the Slap Chop lol remember the info commercial for that?? 😂 what we thought was cool back then, right? Yeah you should do a video on your pantry cause Kim.. lol it’s gonna be like Christmas all over again when you go through that. Thanks for providing great food entertainment after my girl woke up at 5AM. Luckily she is napping now. The brown butter and santa cake mix cookies look delicious. Cut out sugar cookies with frosting remind me of childhood. My girl loves Norwegian gingerbread cookies, and I think it will remind her of childhood at Christmas. I am excited to see how the cookies freeze. I hope you and your family have a great start to 2022!

Happy New Year Wad family! Didn’t you plant a lemon tree at your last house? I have tried a couple of times to grow one from seeds and got close but no cigar. Heck, maybe I will try again soon. Love your recipes! I will say it again Kim, you’re a hoot! 🤗

We planted an orange tree and it DIED!!! We also had starfruit trees, mango trees, avocado trees, and a banana tree but none of them ever produced a fruit... OH WAIT we had a pineapple plant! That one produced a pineapple! It took three years! haha Yay!

@@thewadsquad Pecan trees often take several years too and some of them only produce every other year- weird, I know. We had a pecan tree in North Carolina and had a wonderful crop one year and then limited nuts the next. Good luck!

@@thewadsquad we planted pineapples 2x. Each time when it was also time to pick a racoon ate it. I give up. We do have tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, blueberries, dill.

I remember those hand choppers, my mom used it for nuts too. I'm going to make the brown butter pecan cookies for my uncle and see if he likes them. I've been making him the Levain cookies and he loves those. I'm allergic to walnuts and pecans so I can't even eat them, lol. I love date balls!
