Nice suggestions, for vintage feel stills my top ten 10 - Nikon Coolpix700 9 - Canon Powershot G5 8 - Pentax Optio i-10 7 - Leica D-LUX 3 / Lumix LX2 6 - Fujifilm F601Zoom 5 - Pentax Optio E30 4 - Pentax K-R 3 - Fujifilm X-E1 2 - Ricoh GXR (all modules) 1 - Casio QV-3500EX Yes to me the Casio is THE "filmish" digicam and i got A LOT. I can't stop driving this gem, it is so good...I think it's a Canon powershot G1 in disguise, same lens, same 3.3MP sensor, but the firmware offers more customisation, while G1 offers a hotshoe. You guys have to consider this one, and very cool side effect: no one suspects this model to be such a sleeper so price are not skyrocketing like Canon's iterations. A sort of Canon G1.5

I loved this video! Your narration is fun and engaging. I definitely saw some unique picks in this video too which is nice for variety. I would love to see in depth videos about each camera. Especially, because I’d like to know more about the specs and features each camera offers and how the perform in real life. You’ve gained a sub! Thanks!

very informative - thanks. hint on memory cards: Temu has adapters that use SD cards. not expensive at all, compared to the actuall cards, and don't need the old card reader since it's using the SD card.

Good tip. HOWEVER, I'd be wary of any of cheap temu or ali baba junk that's overflowing on their platforms. You may save a few bucks now, but that stuff breaks down so easily and is such low quality that it's just not worth ultimaely. Plus, if it damages your gear, it's really not worth saving a bit of money in the long run.

Thank you for this very informative video! I really like the pictures you got with the Sony DSC-P51. What image size and quality did you set the camera to for those?

Thanks! For the p51, it's all basic settings: 2Mpix (the maximum size!) and Daylight (Sunny) or Cloudy White Balance. That's it! The camera does the rest. 😁

Nice video. You would get much better results if you adapted the FD lenses on a mirrorless camera where an adapter with glass element isn't needed

I tried turning it on and off several times and semi-worked! At least the screen is note black. But it cannot focus accurately. I'll probably experiment with it more to see if I can get any useful shots. Review may still arrive, after all!

They'd be a good choice, I say! They are very capable cameras after all, Sony really was a pioneer in the space. And their current mirrorless cameras are well loved. Now, would you EDC one of the chunky Cyber-shots, or a more svelte one? 📸

On used market in Pakistan Got an option to buy Sony HX5v for around 20$ price point, and also Canon sx700hs. What do you say about these two models.

I'd go with the Canon, mostly for the interface. But I'd compare them side by side at dpreview.com

What's the best digicam for video?

Good question. It's not in my list, but I like the Samsung NV 24HD. It can do 720p video, and has a very nice wide angle view. So, that's juuust HD quality, and the colors look good. The Canon A590 is also very nice, but only goes up to 640x480 video, which is not HD, but very vintage-looking. Hope this helps!

Hola!, How would you rate the sound and recording of the Exilim?

The video recording is good if you are in bright light. Outside, on a sunny day, the videos is very nice. Indoors, however, it doesn't record video as well. Sound recording is only good if the voice is close to he microphone. Just a few meters away and the voice is too far. Overall, a good early 2000s aesthetic in video!

Very nice camera! All the IXUS are very similar. They just vary in megapixels and interface. I have two videos for great tips and settings. My top tip for night shots is to use a tripod. The shutter speed will cause a lot of blur if you try to handhold the shot. So, put the IXUS on the tripod, set up your shot, turn on SELF TIMER, focus and take the shot. After the countdown, the camera will fire and take a slow shot that is not blurry, thanks to the tripod! It's a lot of effort, yes, but these old cameras just weren't made for night shots. You could experiment with Always On flash (or Slow Sync shutter), too. I haven't enough, to give a good opinion. 📸

Technically any modern phone is better than any of these vintage cameras. However you're not going to get the same sort of vibe or aesthetic from a modern camera. The modern cameras just really push their color science in a modern direction. A vintage camera was all about a vintage color science. You should get one of the ones in my guide and see for yourself 📸
