Want to simulate Kodachrome 64 film stock on a Canon PowerShot? Whether you have an SX210, an IXUS 155, a PowerShot SD750 and such, you'll be able to recreate this classic film look. Digicams are the new film, they say. So let's show them how true it is!

This is awesome info! I purchased a PowerShot SD800 IS recently & am looking forward to adjusting it for the vintage feel. Your settings are perfect and should translate well to my new (to me) camera.

My first digital camera was a Canon Powershot A540, that I have used for many years and still own. I shot with this camera many of my favourite pictures and had a lot of fun with it. But I had to laugh a bit when you referred to these kind of early digicams as "classic"... 😀 To me, analog cameras and that particular look and feel of analog film are "pure and classic".

Kodachrome 64 is is a color slide film and color slide films has a completely different overall look than photos and as he said this is displayed with a projector and depending on the warmth of the projector bulb will determine the output of your image.

Yes, but most projectors strove to be "neutral" or "daylight" balanced. You wanted a 5000k, or so, bulb to have a neutral color rendition.

Great info, I'll certainly try this colour recipe on my canon powershot a650is, I have noticed thise settings but have not used them before. Do the settings remain when you turn off the camera? I've added your channel, it's good to connect with other retro photographers.

Nice. I just dig out an old SX130 and setup the same. Think that a CCD. Going to see how it turns out. My daily driver is a 5D2 so I might also try a custom colour on that.

It worked well, I did find I needed to go the other way with exposure comp, I know over expose is the look but I found it was a little too much so I went 1/3 under and that was better. Ive tried a few other recipes but I keep coming back to this one.. well done you got a good one, now im looking for another Canon old digi cam for my collection :) @@vmcamposCameraClub
