We’ve officially started re-building our teardrop camper! After our last teardrop got hit by a buck, we knew it was a sign that we had to rebuild it better and sturdier than the original. So, we started by doing what anyone would do after their camper got destroyed… destroy it even more. Seriously though, since we were only left with the trailer, we saw the wooden base layer spotted with mold and mildew with soft spots throughout, so we stopped it down to its bare bones. Next, we bought a $40 window off of Facebook marketplace and new tail lights from Walmart. We came up with a plan for the base layer of the camper and Josh designed two options for the camper’s layout: one with a trunk kitchenette, and one with a drawer kitchenette.

We're the Gazicas! Josh & Erica, to be exact. We seek to experience beautiful places, new adventures, delicious food, and meet incredible people along the way.
We met in 2016 as college freshmen, got married in December 2020, and have been exploring the world ever since. This channel is meant to store & cherish our travel memories - be it BBQ in Kentucky, a strenuous hike in Utah, or flying 1,000 ft. over Texas in a powered parachute. Along the way, we hope you join us as we continue to create new memories through adventures.
If you've been somewhere we've been, leave a comment about your favorite part. If you have insight about a hike we've done, share your thoughts with us. We love to hear your stories, too!

Option 1. Kitchenette. I think it offers more utility. You can add storage to the front

This is so impressive!! Both are super cool but the first one seems like the trunk/roof thing would be helpful

My vote is Option 1. Is there any way to add an access door to the outside storage on the inside too so you can access your items both inside & out? Same storage but with two access points.

Good luck with the build project! I own a teardrop trailer, with a rear galley which I really like, so I'm biased toward option #1. That said, I'm sure it will make the build more complex. My main hesitation with option #2 would be that it is on the driver's side. My experience with campground sites is that the picnic table and fire ring tend to be in the passenger's side (if you back in) or are in a 'pull-through' site.

We totally didn’t think about the campground situation - thank you for bringing that up! We’ll consider that as we finish up the designs. Thank you for sharing your thoughts & opinion, it helps coming from someone who owns one!

The window price was a MIRACLE! So thankful for that! And yes glad to hear someone else thought the same thing with the wire nuts!
