The ‘Defender’ you showed at the end of your video is an Ineos Grenadier. It costs about 80k. The car company is new and was created because the owner wanted Land Rover to create a new Defender like they use to. They said no and Ineos was created. Keep the great videos coming. I still think you should build your own van. You two would do such a great job and know exactly what you want. Plus you can save yourself a lot of money doing it yourself.
A lot of the the stuff shown is for off roading and over landing which doesn’t seem like what you guys do but personally would love to see you get into! Thanks for the great video!
:) WOW! THANKS MUCH for sharing, and OMG at Bob's Lotto Prices!! :( I can say the Storyteller rear seats that convert to a bed? That would be a GREAT Idea for carrying extra passenger, and sleeping on ALL the BEST and Cheers! :) May HAVE to go to the one in Hood River OR... :)
Maybe the tables in the Base camp are when you guys are at mad at each you can go to opposite ends of the trailer. But I agree that is too expensive for a trailer. I think Bob had a boy toy high.
That van is probably amazing but I feel like there’s not that much storage for full time van life. But I guess if you’re spending 850k on a van you probably have houses in several locations! Haha
back in the 70's Popular Mechanics published an article on a helicopter RV designed by Winnebago. If we are dreaming lottery dreams I'd want that, but it cost $1.4m in 70's dollars. I'm sure Bob is in....
We started our RV experience late in life (6 years ago for me at 63) and traveled half the country in our travel trailer rig. My heart shifted to van life, but we wound up with a Winnebago Ekko, so kinda van life. Still, I love seeing all the cool van life experiences y'all bring us! You two are so young - keep it up because one day you will wake up old like me wondering how much longer can I do this?
Westfalia Wave will be in Scottsdale on May 2nd thru May 5th at the "Scottsdale RecVan Expo". It would be excellent if you could do a walkthrough review. Thank you.
Those compact trailers with the kitchen outside: Can you imagine when it is raining and the wind is blowing hard, standing out there and cooking a meal? Soaking wet, cold and then you get to crawl inside and sit on your knees to eat? No way. That is ridiculous!
I agree that the tiny trailers are too spartan for me also but lets be fair about the intended use case. Those extreme trailers are made for extreme roads, so the comparison is vs a tent not a fullblown RV.
Great video, Bob and Hillary! Thank you. 🙏 Love the overland products for the adventure element and the off grid capability. Several of these captured my heart and took my breath away. Well, maybe it was the prices that took my breath away. 😂 Off to buy a lotto ticket. 🎟 Thanks for bearing the AZ heat so we could have a look together!
Everything at this show was very pricey. Please explain the Storyteller pricing? Replace the bathroom with a curtain and charge another $40k? Anyway good vid. Thanks!
One thing I’ve discovered is everything American made is junk and three times overpriced compared to makes and models and designs of overseas models. So disappointing America.
No offense to Storyteller heads, I know they are quality builds but waaay overrated becuz of that price point and minimal esthetics. All the suspension upgrades and accessories make it look more than what it is. Especially if it's an AWD Sprinter and not a 4x4. One can probably get the same stuff going with an upfitter and similar price point and u get to choose what to add.
@@JoshuaMartian-go3tm For the same price as an Airstream or Grech, you can get a custom floorplan, dovetailed cabinets, and everything the way you want it. Not cheaper, but one of a kind!
Your comment of; "Unfortunately we have a Promaster"... To each his own, but we have a 2017 PM 159wb RB HR with a custom build (incoudes ~8ft of stainless steel counters and a full size froli sleep system) that we would NEVER trade for a Sprinter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Holy buckets...My family just bought a 4 bedroom house in Bend, Oregon (one of the more expensive areas in the whole state) and still paid less than that van. (it is beautiful...but YIKES!)
Bob you and I have a lot in common. A long list of wants and wives who keep it real. lol. Love the video. Hopefully you guys will make back to Michigan this summer and we can catch up with you. Stay safe.
